Story
Meet Midnighters!Midnighters is the sweetest most soft spoken older gentleman. He is so warm and loving. Midnighters uses his softy voice to say hello and chat to his people.Midnighters came from a home with other cats, and since he has been in care here, we've learned that he really will do better as the only pet in the home. He gets quite frustrated when other cats approach him.He is very gentle, and enjoys sitting on your lap or cuddling near. Midnighters would make an amazing companion for a quiet home. You can usually find him curled up in his favourite spot on his cat post napping the afternoon away.We discovered he can't poop and needs medication to get things moving. Other than that is super young at heart and plays like a kitten with his toys. Due to Midnighters needing some dental work, he will need to go into a home in a Foster-to-adopt agreement.Midnighters 603641Please follow these steps if interested in adoption!1. Story
Sweet Emma (aka Princess Emma) came to VORKA when her owner became ill and could no longer care for her. At 12 years old, Emma has a lot of life to live. Some of her favourite things include watching the neighbourhood from her prime window bed, chattering with the birds, head butting, rubbing her cheeks against her brush, and being gently hugged. A daily brushing is required to ensure that her fur does not mat. While she loves it, she is not keen on her belly fur being brushed and would require a groom at the vet every so often to ensure she stays mat-free. Emma has kidney disease and will need to continue her vet prescribed kidney food and supplement. She’s doing great with both of these! She does have a heart murmur but it does not need treatment at this time. Recently, it was discovered she is hard of hearing. It does not impact her quality of life but she loves having her person in the same room. She’d make a great companion for someone that has a quiet home who can dote on her, giving her the royal retirement she was meant to have!

Story
Meet Lipton! The calmer and more laid-back of the tea sisters, Lipton is still quite shy and skittish but has a gentle and sweet nature. She may not be the most affectionate cat, but she enjoys a peaceful environment where she can feel safe and relaxed. Lipton thrives in a quiet home with patient adopters who understand her need for space and time to adjust. She is bonded with her sister, Tetley, who helps bring out her confidence. If you're looking for a gentle, low-key companion who will flourish with love and patience, Lipton (and Tetley!) might be the perfect pair for you! Must adopt with Tetley.

Story
Meet Leia! This special lady came into our care when a good Samaritan discovered her in a cardboard box along with a written note pleading for someone to take her and love her. For this reason we are unsure of her history. From what we have seen so far, Leia is an independent woman who does things on her own terms! She enjoys doing her own thing but will come to you for pats and attention when she wants to socialize. Leia's foster mom tells us that she enjoys exploring the house, laying on laptops and supervising the household from her cat tree. We believe that Leia will be the most successful in a small, quiet adult only home without any other animals. She should also go into a home with someone who is familiar with cat body language and their quickly changing moods! She does not like when she is alone for extended periods during the day so someone who works from home or is retired would be ideal. She is constantly seeking out love and attention during the day and likes to be by herself in the evenings. Since she has a lovely, long coat we have been working on getting her used to being regularly brushed. The foster has told us that this is progressing wonderfully. It will be important that you understand cat boundaries. She is very easily annoyed 😂 but also very communicative about when you've upset her (growls and yowls and hisses, and then immediately forgives you two seconds later)Here are some other things that the foster has noted about her colorful personality.SUPER vocal, like we have actual conversations. Yet she politely stays quiet while we're sleeping! Doesn't scratch furniture or eat my plantsLeia Likes to be involved in whatever you're doing. You cannot sit on a couch alone anymore and is getting more and more playful everyday! I am currently in foster so please apply for me online!cats:https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Our visiting hours are:Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday: 12-5Thursday, Public Holidays: closedSaturday, Sunday: 12-4 Primary Color: Brown Tabby Secondary Color: White Weight: 5.9 Age: 8yrs 1mths 1wks
