Story
Hi there, I'm Baby Boy. I was surrendered to HOPE when my owner was unfortunately moved into assisted living after months in the ICU. Her daughters took care of me and my 5 roomies but it couldn't last long term. We were all very, very loved though! I'm a shy guy, that's just how I've always been. I am the more confident of my siblings Gracie and Blackie, though. Our Mama Kitty is a little shy too. I'd probably do best in a calm home with a nice quiet place to adjust. It'll take some time but I would totally repay your patience with love as soon as I'm warmed up! I've always been sweet for the people here at the shelter.

Story
Hi there! Iandamp;#39;m Slick! andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m a very special kitty. You see&#44 I have diabetes. It is very well-controlled with easy daily insulin and special food&#44 but I wanted to make sure you knew about that ahead of time. The team here can explain what is involved and give you more information.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;I am such a lovely cat. Iandamp;#39;m a little shy at the shelter where itandamp;#39;s noisy and scary&#44 but I spent a week in a quiet foster home and I was very outgoing and not afraid at all. I am super affectionate and love to be petted and combed. My hair is very long and silky so daily combing helps to keep it looking nice. I have a very loud purr motor.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m not the kind of cat that likes to climb and jump a lot. The diabetes has given me some very slight nerve damage in my back legs so Iandamp;#39;m not every athletic&#44 but itandamp;#39;s not painful at all. When Iandamp;#39;m not snuggling with you I like to sleep the day away in a soft hidey low to the ground.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;You might wonder about my left ear. Itandamp;#39;s a little crinkly--probably from an old injury. It gives me character.andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Iandamp;#39;m really ready to find my forever home with someone who wants a loving cat and is comfortable with managing my diabetes. Could that be you?andlt;br/andgt;andlt;br/andgt;Love&#44 andlt;br/andgt;Slick

Story
Snowball came into rescue almost 2 years ago. She was an older kitten, but super sick. Her foster home was asked to treat her for her upper respiratory infection, so that she could then be released back to her colony outside. Snowball was a feral kitten that was TNR'd (Trapped, fixed and to be returned). She wears a badge of honor for her life as a feral kitty. She has a tipped ear, which indicates to humans that she has been fixed. Her foster mom treated her infection only to find out that Snowball is deaf, or mostly deaf. Snowball's deafness makes her fearful, which confirmed to Snowball's foster mom, that she could not be released back to her colony. Her survival in the outdoor would be full of perils. Snowball loves the other kitties that have come and gone in her foster room. She needs a home with humans that understand that she will come to them in her own time. . Snowball loves churu treat, and she likes being petted when foster mom scoops her up! If Snowball could find a cat savvy home, maybe someone that has had a deaf kitty, that would be ideal. A home with another chill kitty that could guide her and head bump with her would also be great! Snowball is ready for the next phase in her life . Are you her match?

Story
Meet lovely Raya, a stunning long-haired black cat with a charming white floof that adds to her elegance. This sweet girl is shy and nervous, so she'll need a patient and understanding adopter who can give her the time and space to feel safe. While she may never be a lap cat, she enjoys being near her people, offering quiet companionship. Her favorite pastime? Sitting in the sink and sipping on fresh water-it's her own little ritual! She's not fond of other animals, so a quiet, pet-free home would be ideal for her. If you're looking for a gentle, low-maintenance companion who will appreciate a calm environment, she might just be the perfect match for you. Give her the love and security she needs, and she'll reward you with her quiet presence and unique charm.

Story
Please contact Della @ (kittycityks@aol.com) for more information about this pet. Our adoption center is open both Saturday & Sunday every weekend! Saturday's noon-5pm & Sunday's noon-4pm. Archie is a cat whose personality is as captivating as his love for watching the world through windows on his window perch. Archie is a bit shy at first, but don't let that fool you. Once he warms up to you, his friendly nature shines through, as he walks by you rubbing against your legs for a few chin and head scratches.  He is a huge fan of combing his beautiful orange and white long fur coat which he will love for you to do often. As he becomes more comfortable with you brushing him he will ask for a good belly rub.  But what sets Archie apart is his capacity for affection. His gentle purrs and soft cuddles are a testament to his loving nature. Adopt Archie and you're not just getting a pet, you're gaining a loyal friend who will bring warmth, love, and a touch of gentle wisdom to your home. This kitty needs a quiet home, but should get along with kids 12 years and older, and other cats, given proper introductions. Archie was born approximately January 31, 2019, and his adoption fee is $125, or adopt two and the second is half off. He is neutered, up-to-date on vaccinations and deworming, is microchipped, and tested negative for feline leukemia virus. Come see this sweet boy at our adoption center this weekend!  You can visit our adoptable cats and kittens during weekend business hours at our adoption center, address and times above. During the week, all our kitties live in licensed foster homes, and while most do come to the adoption center each weekend, not every kitty attends every weekend. For more information, or to confirm whether a particular cat or kitten will be present that weekend, please email kittycityks@aol.com.  Kitty City Kansas Rescue is a volunteer, non-profit organization.  March 12, 2025, 1:47 am
