Story
Meet Amaryllis, a beautiful long-haired brown tabby with a heart full of potential. She arrived at the shelter as part of the Pet Amigos TNR program, and although she started off shy and nervous, she`s come a long way in opening up. While still a semi-social cat, Amaryllis is learning to trust and seek out attention. She’ll often approach the front of her kennel, softly meowing and making biscuits when she wants some affection. However, she’s also known to get a little overstimulated, so her boundaries are important, she might ask for space with a quick swat.Amaryllis has been part of a feral colony and has coexisted with other cats, so she’s comfortable around her feline friends. We are unsure how she would react to dogs, as we don’t allow them in her space. With time, patience, and understanding, Amaryllis has the potential to blossom into a loving and loyal companion. She may also thrive in an outdoor setting where she can have more space to explore and feel secure. If you`re looking for a cat who will warm up in her own time, Amaryllis could be the perfect fit!

Donations can be made by regular mail or online using Paypal.  https://www.fandfnm.org/become-a-godpurrent.html For more information, please send an e-mail to felinesandfriendsnm@yahoo.com HISTORY:  NIEVE was lost and struggling to survive outside in a Santa Fe neighborhood when a kind-hearted volunteer brought her to F&F for medical care and rehoming.          TEMPERAMENT: NIEVE was several matted upon arrival. During her intake visit to the vet, it was discovered that NIEVE has little or no hearing. She prefers to be in a small, safe space at night - this appears to make her feel more secure. During the day she enjoys attention from her human friends. As a senior kitty, NIEVE is looking for a quiet home where she can spend her golden years. HISTORY: SOPHIE SUNSHINE was transferred to F&F to help her relax and learn to trust people. She was adopted but returned to find a home without other pets. TEMPERAMENT: SOPHIE SUNSHINE can seek attention and enjoy petting, but will nip when the contact becomes too much for her. She does not like other cats and would do best as an only cat in a quiet home with an adopter who understands her limits and can safely handle a cat that bites. Story
HISTORY: LINDA was adopted as a kitten but came to F&F in 2022 when her adopter could no longer care for her. She has been honing her social skills at our shelter, but is now ready to find her furever home.           TEMPERAMENT: LINDA is a beautiful but shy girl who has made much progress with learning to trust human friends. She is very treat motivated and will accept gentle touch in return for treats, especially Churu. In fact, she will follow you around, hoping for a treat, and then reward you with lots of gentle petting. LINDA has lived for years with other cats at our shelter and would probably fare well in a home with other mellow cats. She does not enjoy cats that chase her. LINDA will need a patient adopter willing to give her time to shine. AGE:   born approx.  06/10/2020     MICROCHIP #: -3773   DATE OF STERILIZATION:  9/26/20      VAX RECORD:  FVRCP expires: 4/25/25; Rabies expires: 6/20/25  FELV/FIV test:  9/26/20; neg  ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ADOPTION FEE: $100      If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our    Adoption Application     completely.    In the space provided on the form, please include contact information for three (3) personal references to whom you are NOT related or shares your home. Story
HISTORY: HALLOWEENA was rescued by Dixon Animal Protection Society and transferred to F&F for rehoming.  Before rescue, HALLOWEENA had been temporarily housed in a cage in a shed for 3 months with very little human contact, causing her to withdraw. TEMPERAMENT: Pretty HALLOWEENA came to F&F to re-socialize her and give her an opportunity to move about and play. When she recently moved to a foster home, HALLOWEENA found a safe place to hide and look out a window. After a few days, HALLOWEENA tested the waters with the human that feeds her. Soon, she began to rub all over her caregiver and ask for pets. While HALLOWEENA can only handle small amounts of attention at first, she is learning to communicate her boundaries. When adopted into a forever home, HALLOWEENA will need patience and a room to herself to get her cat mojo back. She doesn’t have a lot of patience with the young cat in her foster home, but may enjoy the companionship of a calm older cat. AGE:  born approx. 7/12/2015     MICROCHIP #:  -7202       DATE OF STERILIZATION: spayed, date unknown   VAX RECORD:  FVRCP expires: 4/22/25; Rabies expires: 5/6/25   FELV/FIV test:  10/23/23 neg ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:  ADOPTION FEE: $100        If you are interested in adopting this cat, please fill out our  Adoption Application   completely, including  three (3) personal references who do NOT share your home and are NOT related to you.
