RANDY - DLH, male, neutered, grey, DOB Apr 9/13 Randy is a very sensitive boy that will need a quiet home with someone who is patient and kind. He is settling into his foster home well and now purrs and enjoys being petted. He's not used to the love and attention. He is ok with other cats and may do well with a confident cat in the home. He recently had a dental done so his teeth are good but it was discovered he has a mild thyroid condition. He is required to take an oral medication morning and night and he's a champ about it. It's a fairly inexpensive medication. Are you that special person who will give Randy a wonderful home and all the love he deserves? August 18, 2024, 10:51 pm

Story
Are you looking for a lovely and friendly girl who would love to hang out with you all day? Moxie could be your girl! Moxie is a two-year-old beautiful long-hair torbie, who is a total cuddle bug. She loves to be around people and will quickly become your shadow. She enjoys being picked up and carried like a baby. Moxie loves to cuddle in your lap before she’s off to her next adventure. Moxie can’t get enough pets and will lean into your hand begging you not to stop, purring the entire time! Her belly? Go ahead and rub it, because she loves it! Moxie has a true playful spirit and adores her toys – especially springs! She is particularly fond of laser lights, and can spend hours chasing that elusive red dot! She is like a big kitten! Moxie enjoys having her long, flowing fur brushed to keep it looking its best. Moxie has a mild food allergy to chicken, so she eats a diet of duck food to keep her happy and healthy. Moxie may do well with another friendly cat after a proper introduction. But she will also thrive in a household where she can be the only cat, allowing her to soak up all the love and attention. Moxie would love a home where someone is present most of the day to keep her company and share in her playful antics. Moxie is good with kids, but dogs are unknown. Moxie was surrendered to us when she was pregnant. Moxie was a great mother to her babies, but now it’s her turn to find her forever home at last. With her affectionate nature and playful spirit, Moxie will make a great addition to the perfect home that will give her lots of love and attention. Lots of cuddle and purrs are waiting for you!

Story
*******************************************************************************************Shaggy is part of a bonded pair and MUST be adopted with his partner, Scooby.******************************************************************************************* ***AT SHELTER***"Zoinks! Where am I?" wondered Shaggy the cat.  And just like that, Shaggy found himself at the front door of EHS early one frosty morning.  This handsome, long-haired tabby boy has likely been through a lot in his short life, however, his past is now behind him as he looks to brighter days ahead. As he waits to meet his perfect family, this sweet boy is busy watching the comings and goings around him. Once a detective, always a detective. Right, Shaggy?Shaggy may greet you with a momentary hiss, but this guy is just so sweet--he's really a cuddle bug who craves attention. He has become much more accepting of pets and loves to be brushed, even pushing his head into your hand for more. He truly enjoys his one-on-one time with our dedicated volunteers, even purring to show his pleasure! Shaggy certainly does enjoy his "Scooby snacks," wet food being his preference, and let's not forget the occasional tube treat (either on or off a spoon).   Shaggy would like you to know that he wants to spend the rest of his life with his long-time best friend Scooby, so they will need to be welcomed as a pair. Given his gentle disposition, it is likely that he would thrive in a quiet environment where he can enjoy all the good things life has to offer--safety, food, and above all, love. As for companions other than humans and Scooby, Shaggy is currently sharing his space with a compatible feline, so adding another team member is certainly an option. Like his early years, his previous contact with dogs remains a mystery. so we're uncertain how he would react to them.Shaggy's just waiting to meet his perfect match. Could he be the one to pull at your heart strings? You'll only find out if you drop by to meet him. You never know, you could be in for adventures of your own!--------------------The adoption fee for a single cat at EHS is $175. Take home an adult feline friend for your kitty and the adoption fee for the pair is $300! For kittens under six months of age, the adoption fee is $200...or, double your cuteness quotient and adopt two wee furballs for $350! If you mix and match (kitten plus cat), the adoption fee is $300. Each of our cats is spayed/neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines, snap tested for FIV/FeLV, dewormed, and flea treated prior to adoption. Kittens are not spayed or neutered until 5 months of age, but the cost of spay/neuter will be covered as part of the adoption.--------------------Interested in adopting Shaggy? It's easy! Just click "Adopt a Cat" on the EHS website (etobicokehumanesociety.com) and fill out our "Cat Adoption Form."  An EHS representative will be pleased to help.

Story
***IN FOSTER***"Well, now that we have seen each other," said the unicorn, "if you believe in me, I'll believe in you." -Lewis Carroll, "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland"Shy and sweet Unicorn came to EHS from another shelter after being found as a stray. This brave little tabby is learning to trust humans even though it hasn't always been easy for her. She has discovered just how much she enjoys affection from the people around her. She loves cuddles even more than treats! Even though she may be shy and hesitant at first, Unicorn can be drawn out of her shell with some sweet talk. Volunteers are often delighted to see her rolling around seeking cuddles and licking hands once she knows she's safe. While not a fan of being picked up, Unicorn enjoys being brushed and really leans into letting you make her fur sparkle and shine. If you give her enough patience and neck scratches, she'll be chatting off your ear in no time.Unicorn enjoys the company of other cats and would very much enjoy having another feline friend in her home.
