Story
Meet our newest foster cat, Bella!  She is a five year old adult cat with a beautiful long, fluffy coat!  Bella joined the SOCA family after being abandoned outside of the Fort Bend County Animal Shelter on a Sunday night.  There was a note with her that indicated her previous family had tried to rehome with her with no success.  On the evening that Bella was abandoned, the temperatures dropped below freezing, and poor Bella spent the night in the cold by herself. When the shelter opened in the morning, she was taken in, and the volunteers at SOCA were able to pick her up that afternoon and bring her to a foster family.  Bella has definitely had a difficult experience, but she is looking for a forever family that will be patient and loving with her as she adjusts to her new normal. When Bella first came to her foster family’s house, she was naturally very scared and territorial and hid under the bed. Over the next week, Bella slowly started to come out and rub up against her foster humans.  With lots of patience from her foster family, Bella allows some pets, but once she has had enough of being petted, she growls and occasionally swipes.  For this reason, Bella may be better suited to a family with older teenagers or without small children. Since Bella has long hair, she does need to be brushed (she does cough up hairballs) and can tolerate being brushed a little bit at a time. She doesn't like to be picked up and held.  We think that once Bella is in her new home, she will warm up over time, especially because she has made big strides in the last two months with her foster family. She is a sweet girl, but because of her circumstances, she is naturally a little jittery in new situations.  Now that Bella has been with her foster family for two months, she jumps on the bed to sleep with the teenagers, and she does expose her belly to them (which is a sign of trust!). She also makes biscuits with her paws on them!  Currently, Bella is not around other cats or dogs, and her territorial nature suggests that she may not be happy in a home with other pets or may take time to adjust to an existing pet in the home.   If you have room in your home and heart for loving Bella, please consider submitting an application.  She is available for a meet and greet at her foster family’s home.  Her adoption fee is $85, and it includes all of her vaccines.  Bella is already spayed and microchipped!      March 5, 2025, 2:08 pm

Chloe was rescued as a tiny baby from a storm drain. Extremely small framed and very chill baby. Plays when you want to play and hangs out when you want to hang out. Has been wrapped in a blanket by an 11 year old and toted around with zero complaints. She's not very talkative, extremely sweet and a laid back little girl whose ready for her forever home.March 11, 2025, 12:57 am
