Story
Lola is 6 years old and is truly the sweetest cat in the world. All she wants is love from her owner and bonds easily with anyone who will love her. She purs like a motorboat and is extremely friendly. She is very healthy and has never had any medical issues. Unfortunately, after a traumatic situation, she rejected her sister who she has lived with for years and it is no longer safe for them to live in the same home. She will need to be in a home with no other dogs or cats.

Story
Molly is an indoor cat, but loves being outside on a leash chewing grass, sunning herself or loves munching on oat grass indoors and looking out windows. I have owned Molly ten years, but she was with another family before me so is around 12+ years old. She is not a huge fan of toys, enjoys relaxing, being brushed or petted; she loves her cat tower and scratchpad ball toy. She is great with my husband and has let our 10 month old pet her. She does not like other pets, but has lived with dogs and cats and may tolerate them. She does not jump as high anymore, but has always hated being on kitchen or bathroom counters anyways which is good. She has a bad habit of often going poo right outside her litter box for years. We believe she would do better in a single person home or with a couple without children who could provide extra attention. She loves pâté or liquid food best. Required: Regular vet visits, flea/tick/any medicine, grooming; adopter to be non-smoker and stay in touch.

Story
Stunning, Snuggly and Social! Despite her name, Vampire Slayer is a gentle and affectionate lass. Her luscious long and fluffy Manx and maine coon fur is a winning combination. She loves her people and has no problem showing you how much. She likes to be in the crowd to show off her gorgeous locks and her big beautiful amber eyes that will mesmerize you. She has the most expressive face! Vampire loves to sleep in the bed with you and will purr with glee. She has quite the "vocabulary" of different squeaks and meows, and she likes to chat with you! She responds to the name Buffy, literally - if you call her name she'll reply with a squeak - adorable! She does great with other dogs, cats and humans. Vampire is very easy to care for, even with her special needs, she is very clean. In return, she gives tons of love and laughs! She is incontinent and wears a diaper because she sometimes drips a few drops of urine if she's due to be expressed. She needs expressions 3 times day. She is used to getting expressed over the toilet, so there's basically zero mess to clean up and it only takes 1-2 minutes and is worth the love in return. Vampire has also had both back feet amputated, due to her feet being misshapen at birth. She can put weight on her back "nubbins" and walk, but generally scoots around on her little diapered butt. She is so happy and super mobile, and the only thing she can't do is jump - she still gets up on the furniture using ramps or just using her incredible upper body strength – we call her Buff Buffy! Her resilience is just amazing and will make you love her more. This sweet soul is sure to bring you joy! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Vampire Slayer, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Mr. Handsome, Friendly, Hipster Laszlo wears a long-haired black and white tuxedo and sports a little soul patch under his chin - he is gorgeous! His name translates to “glorious ruler”, and this fine kitty will definitely rule your heart. It’s perfectly okay with him if you scoop him up and snuggle him! He especially loves it when you scratch his cheeks and chin. At the shelter, Laszlo has shown that he seems to love all cats, cuddling, sleeping, and goofing around with his roommates. He is an equal-opportunity lovebug! Otherwise, he spends his time on patrol looking out the window, finding the good catnip toys to roll around on, and playing with rolly balls. Prior to his arrival at APA!, Laszlo suffered trauma to his tail, which gave him incontinence. He can’t empty his bladder on his own, so he needs his humans to manually express his bladder for him, which means gently pressing on it to help him go pee. It’s easier than it sounds, and APA! will show you how and make sure you are comfortable with it. He also takes some supportive meds, and needs a booty clean-up now and then. Caring for an incontinent cat is easier than you may think. Check out this video, and please consider adopting Laszlo! bit.ly/CatExpressionDemo Laszlo is fun, loving, and a great companion - for you and for another cat! Contact APA! for information on how to care for him, and to ask any questions you have. And to meet this wondrous boy! All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Laszlo, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.

Story
Look who's here, it's Wise Owl! He's a newcomer to APA! and we can't wait to get to know him. When we do, we'll share all the details with you pronto. Check back soon! Wise Owl has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! waives the adoption fees of these cats, and provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. Wise Owl can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about Wise Owl's care. All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team. For further information or to meet Wise Owl, please email adopt@austinpetsalive.org.
