Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Online  Adoption Application Mr Scott came into the rescue as a kitten and was adopted; however, through no fault of his own came back into care after his owner could no longer keep him for personal reasons. Scott is most vocal when it's time to eat and purrs loudly. He loves belly rubs and playing with feather toys. He seeks out attention by headbutting until he gets in his pets. His former family stated he darted outside a couple of times but we have not had any issues. Scott would do well with kids in the home and had a dog in his prior home. Scott is fine with other cats. Scott's Adoption Fee is $175.00. This includes: Neuter, Rabies Vaccine, FVRCP Vaccine, Wellness Exam, Dewormer, Flea Treatment, and Microchip. Scott's is available for adoption within 100 miles of zip code 25545. If the adopter does not meet the foster halfway, an $85.00 transport fee will be required. Pet Helpers is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foster based volunteer rescue located in Fairmont, WV.  We do adopt out of state to approved applicants, if you are willing to drive to WV to pick up your pet.  We do not fly or use transport companies.  Our adoption fee is $150.00 for mixed breed puppies and adult dogs, $225.00 for full blooded puppies and adult dogs and $50.00 for cats and kittens.  Regardless if the animal is a mixed breed or full blooded they are spayed/neutered prior to adoption IF they are old enough.  If they are too young at the time of adoption, then it is your financial responsibility to spay/neuter the pet by the age of 6 months and you must provide proof for our files that it has been done.  All of our pets are checked by a vet, given the shots appropriate for their age and any other treatment deemed necessary by the vet.  All of our pets are adopted as indoor pets and are not be outdoors tied to a box 24/7.  The pet you are adopting has been living in a home with a foster family.  You are expected to take possession of the pet you are applying for within a few days of application approval.  This will enable us to accept another pet into that home.  Because we are a rescue, and believe that spaying and neutering is crucial in stopping the reproduction of unwanted puppies/kittens and massive amounts of animals dying daily in shelters across the country, we expect any animal already in your home to be spayed/neutered. If for any reason you are unable to keep the pet you have adopted you are required to return them to Pet Helpers, Inc.  They are not to be sold or given away.   Check us out on Facebook!!!!!!  We hope you will give us two paws up, like our page and share with your friends.  Pet Helpers, Inc. Story
Albert is a 9-year-old domestic black and white cat with medium hair. He has vaccine reactions and is on a special diet of Iam Sensitive Stomach and Skin. His system is sensitive to foods, vaccines, medications, and treats. Albert’s Wishlist consists of Iams S and S, a scratching post, an automatic water fountain, a hooded litter box, a cat bed, and a gripped bathmat for his food bowls. Hello, I’m Albert. My favorite things are treats and scratching posts. But there is no restraint for me. Thanks. If I were a dessert, I’d be Lemon crème puff. My perfect day would be hanging out in front of the fish tank and being in my human’s lap. If you like large fluffy guys, we’d make a great team.

Story
Tilly, our darling senior kitty, came into the rescue from a pound where she was listed for euthanasia due to her advanced age and questionable health. Once she was safe in her foster home, we started the process of removing large clusters of severe matting from her fur which gave her tons of much needed relief and also a funny haircut that she is growing out. Her veterinary assessment showed many typical signs of an advanced age cat, but overall healthy! She was prescribed a special senior kitty diet to ensure she gets as many more years as possible!  Common in advanced senior cats, she is also seeing impaired but navigates her foster home with very little problems! Tilly is sweet, affectionate and enjoys her housemates that include other cats, a dog and children.   Tilly’s age is estimated to be at least 13 years old. She is FIV/FELV negative, fully vaccinated, spayed and ready to meet the family that will give her the best years of her life! All of our cats and kittens are examined by a veterinarian, Feline Leukemia/FIV tested, vaccinated for Rabies and FVRCP, dewormed for internal parasites, checked for external parasites, current on heartworm prevention/flea control, and have been spayed/neutered.  Adoption fee is $120. If you are interested in this sweetie, please fill out the adoption application on our website http://www.homewardboundwv.org For more information, please email us at adopt@homewardboundwv.org Thank you!  July 13, 2024, 12:02 pm
