Born on a farm in Iowa, Lamar is a 5 year old medium hair Tuxedo cat. He came to us at 6 weeks old and is an indoor cat. He still has his claws and enjoys out of doors occasionally (though he's perfectly happy being indoors full time). He is one of the most loving, playful and affectionate cats possible, appreciating a lot of lap time. He caught a virus last year that left him with Iris Melanosis with managed Glaucoma in his left eye, which now requires one drop each day to control pressure from building up in his eye. He appears to see just fine and, otherwise, is a very health and happy cat. We are looking for a new home for Lamar because we are nearing retirement and will be away quite often for extended periods of time. He would appreciate a quiet home with people who would give him their love and attention (and he will return the love and attention).

Bean is very sweet and cuddly but very shy! She is quiet, gentle, well behaved and does not bite or or lash out. She is very easy to get into a carrier to go to the vet. I adopted her from a coworker who had initially adopted her from the ARL. Her prior owner had other cats and Bean spent most of her time hiding. When she came to live with me, Bean and I were a perfect match. Bean came out of her shell and began to show her playful side! She sticks to me like glue, and prefers to sit next to me wherever that may be. However, my household is evolving and the changes have been causing her stress. She thrives in a one-person, quiet home with consistant routines, and that is where I'm looking to adopt her to!

My name is Peppa Pig and no I am not a pig. Although I was pretty round when I came into my foster home. Inside of 24 hours, I popped out 6 babies and then after a few weeks, if that wasn't enough headaches...i mean little darlings to look after, I inherited a couple more to feed and look after. Honestly, I think I was doing enough before the last 2 came along but they are all weaned now and can find therir own homes. That means I get to relax now too and find my forever home too. Let me tell you about me. I was technically a stray as I was living outside, but I was friendly so perhaps I wasn't always an outside cat. I have adapted to having air conditioning and meals on time and in bowls very well and would not like to go back to living rough in the wilds of San Antonio. Tara is around 6 years old. She was adopted from ARL and she was a companion for my husband who has alzheimers. She is very friendly, likes to be pet and to be around wherever you are. Would be a great companion to anyone in a quiet home. She is an indoor cat. She is shy but does warm up to people quickly.
