Story
CJ 8-10 years old Neutered male CJ came from animal control, where he was surrendered. He wasn’t in the best of shape… Covered in fleas, very skinny and terrible teeth. Surprisingly, his lab work was all fine! He had a dental done and he has about 4 teeth remaining now. After that, the poor guy got an upper respiratory infection, which made it even harder to gain weight. Finally, I think we’re on the right track! We have found food types that he likes. He is eating kitten food for some extra calories too. CJ is a very chill and calm cat. He sleeps most of the day. He doesn’t mind other cats as long as they’re relatively calm too. (He probably doesn’t want to be around young playful kittens). CJ is a sweet older gentleman and he deserves to live his remaining years in peace and comfort. He has no major health problems and no daily meds. He just needs someone to let him be and watch his food intake to make sure he keeps weight on. Please let us know if you can give CJ a great forever home 😻

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.May 2023 addendum:  Tootie's adopter who had him for over a year died in March of 2023.  We were asked by his family to find a new home for him  He is back at the TAL foster care and adoption center and is well adjusted.  We feel that he is ready for a new owner.  He is a loving cat who craves hands on attention.  Still is reserved in new situations but given a little time in a new home, he ill be a wonderful companion and pet.     I was rescued from downtown Texarkana when very young, and cared for in the home of a foster, but I am very, very shy.  I'm neutered, microchipped, and have had all my 1st year vaccines.  Tootie is a very sweet kitten, and will do well in a quiet environment with lots of love & attention.  He and his sister, Koko, are very attached to each other.  She is very sensitive.  Do not recommend children or dogs.   All of our adoptable animals are up to date on routine vaccinations, microchipped and spayed or neutered.  If the animal is too young a certificate for the spay/neuter is included in the adoption fee.  Please CLICK HERE to complete our online adoption application. Many of our animals can be seen at our adoption center located at 5820 Richmond Rd, Texarkana, TX on Saturdays between 10 am - 3 pm. To make arrangements to meet any of our animals, please call us at 1-877-525-4825, option 1.   Texarkana Animal League is a 501c3 non profit and all donations are tax deductible. Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 6:11 pm

We received her after she was spayed and vetted, and her babies went to one of our fosters. She is now looking for her furever home. Ms. Kitty is a beautiful Tortie with gorgeous markings. She is very shy but also very sweet with no aggression issues. She just needs a calm loving person to take her in and show her that people can be loving and kind. She will wind up being the best lap baby ever! Visit this organization's web site to see any additional information available about this pet.October 28, 2024, 6:11 pm
