Story
Kairo is a two year old medium-haired tabby. He's sitting right around seven pounds at the moment, though could stand to put maybe one or two more pounds on to add some meat on his bones.Kairo is your tried and true spirit cat, often tricking visitors and volunteers by making his cage look empty. In reality, he's bundled up beneath his blanket and finding security in his own little world. He's never given us so much as a peep in disagreement when we need to remove him from his cave, and we really don't think he has a single mean bone in his body. We're not sure what exactly got him to this point of being so distanced from the world around him, but we have to imagine it was significant enough to have pushed him this far. For that reason, we ask any potential adopter to work at his pace. Earning the trust and affection of a spirit cat is a tedious process that can take months, but it's always worth it. We're sure he has a ton of love to give to the right person once he knows he's in his forever home. For that reason, we ask that he go to a home without any children. Dogs also have the potential to bring him a lot of stress, so we'd prefer he not be around them if possible. Other cats we haven't tried just yet, but the right personality may help him adjust.

Urgent! The 'D' Crew of kitties need homes. These are kitties in need of extra special understanding homes. They have been living outside their entire life. About eight months old they are very nervous around new people. Their current caregiver can pet them, however in a new home they will be very shy and take months to warm up. We are looking for homes who will put the extra effort in building a relationship with them. We are working to get their medical care done so they will be ready for their forever homes. Stunning medium hair beauties! One calico and three tabby with white. It may take time for them to feel safe in their new home, but with most kitties once they gain your trust you will have a truly special relationship. Please contact us if you understand what it takes to add a semi-feral kitty to your home. Kitties are located in the Taunton, MA area. NOTE: This is a courtesy listing. AHP is not providing the adoption. We will however provide the vet check and ask a small donation towards their vet care so we can save other street kitties. Our only goal is to get them off the streets into warm homes. If you can't adopt please, please consider making a donation on our site to help with their vet care. We help hundreds of kitties get of the streets & into loving homes - however there is never enough funding. You can feel great knowing your gift goes directly towards saving more kitties from a life on the streets. AHP is a registered 501 (c) 3 charity organization. We are all volunteer! Funding is never used to euthanize pets, our life-saving programs focus on preventing suffering and homelessness. www.ahelpingpaw.org

Story
Meet Ginny, the 4.5-month-old tortie with a purr-sonality as bold as her beautiful coat! This little firecracker is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy—one minute she’s zooming around like a whirlwind of energy, and the next, she’s demanding attention (on her own terms, of course). Ginny is endlessly curious and insists on knowing everything that’s going on at all times. Her favorite pastime? Capturing wand toys and proudly parading them around like a mighty hunter. She would love to be adopted with one of her siblings—Paco, Tiptoe, or Frankie—but as long as she has a playful feline friend, she’ll be happy! When she’s not busy being the life of the party, Ginny enjoys short cuddle sessions before she’s off on her next adventure. If you’re looking for a silly, spirited, and totally lovable tortie, Ginny is your girl! Thank you for your interest in adopting from Scruffy Paws Animal Rescue! If this post is still up, we are still accepting applications for this cat(s)/kitten(s). There's no need to email us about availability, just submit an application if you're interested! For more information about our adoption process, please visit our website: https://scruffypawsanimalrescue.org/about-adoption/ All adoption fees include: - Spay/neuter surgery Adoption Process - Microchip - Rabies and distemper vaccinations - Proof of FIV/feline leukemia testing - Flea treatment & deworming - A veterinary exam Please Note: Scruffy Paws operates by appointment only and is not open to the public.
