Story
dob 1/1/16 Mila is shy and slow to trust, but when she does, she is a sweet, gentle girl who enjoys being brushed and petted and looking out the window. She doesn't care much about toys. Mila's former owner returned her to us for inappropriate peeing after she felt she had tried everything, including treatment for urinary tract infections, without success. So far in her TC Paw foster home, her urinary issues appear confined to peeing over the edge of the litter box once or twice when she got too close to the edge. Obviously, something else must have triggered the previous behavior. Whether she had past UTI's that went undiagnosed and caused her pain that she associated with the litter box, or from her past declawing, or something else, she seems to be doing well now.  A larger litter box has helped, along with a pee pad underneath. She has not urinated anywhere else outside the box.  Mila is a loving cat who  who will need an experienced cat owner to make her feel safe and allow her to adjust to her new home in her own time. This pretty girl is old enough that you don't have to deal with kitten nonsense but still has a long and rewarding life ahead of her as a companion to a patient and understanding owner. Story
dob 8/1/22 Isla was part of the Kalkaska 38, a huge hoarding and abandonment rescue TC Paw did over Labor Day weekend. You can read about it here on the website. Most of the Kalkaska cats followed the same pattern - frightened at first, but then they turned into lovers. That is Isla. She purrs the minute she sees her foster mom, and she cuddles easily and comfortably. She loves playing with her peacock feather, and she scratches on her cardboard scratching pad like a good kitty. Isla drinks water by sticking her paw in her water dish and then licking her paw. It's cute. She's a little cautious around new things and people, but she has learned to accept the dog and to realize that the resident cats are not a threat. Besides her foster, Isla's favorite snuggle pal is Pip, the cat she came in with. Sometimes they lie so close together that they look like a two-headed cat. They'd like to stay together. Take a look at Pip's page too. If you are interested in adopting this TC Paw cat or would like to set up a meet-and-greet, please complete the  Pre-adoption Application .   August 20, 2024, 12:00 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
dob 8/1/15 One stormy night, Opal was rescued from a shed, a scared but sweet cat. She was already spayed and so friendly that we feel she must have been someone's pet, but we know no more about her. Opal runs to her TC Paw foster mom to ask to be petted and will paw at her for more attention. She loves to be close so much that her foster mom says it's difficult to get a good picture. She'd be happy as the only pet, but with careful introduction, could be okay with other pets.  Opal has never met a stranger. She likes everyone and will be an affectionate, attentive companion.  If you are interested in adopting this TC Paw cat or would like to set up a meet-and-greet, please complete the  Pre-adoption Application .   August 20, 2024, 12:00 pm

Story
dob 8/22/19 Goldie was originally adopted through a vet office, but her owner relinquished her to TC Paw because she didn't get along with the other cat in her new home. She loves people, though. She's a sweet, gentle lap cat who loves lots of attention. In a quiet home where she is the only cat, this pretty girl will be a wonderful pet.  If you are interested in adopting this TC Paw cat or would like to set up a meet-and-greet, please complete the  Pre-adoption Application .   August 20, 2024, 12:00 pm

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
dob 12/1/23 Naomi and her three grown kittens came to TC Paw from an elderly owner who couldn’t care for them safely any longer. Her kids were adopted pretty quickly, but since they all had lived mostly outside in their previous home, Naomi needed more time to get used to being a pet. She has come a long way from the unapproachable cat she was. Naomi likes to be petted and rubbed and to start up her rumbly purr. She’ll press her head into your hand for ear and chin rubs. She has soft fur and the prettiest face. Look at those eyes. She’s an  enthusiastic eater who loves a squeezy tube treat more than anything else. Naomi has funny little routines, like standing to look out the window in the morning after breakfast and talk in her sweet, tiny voice to something out there. She likes light toys she can skitter across the floor. While she is not yet a cuddly lap cat, she has great potential if she can get into a quiet, adult home. Her foster home has quite a few other foster cats, and the kittens, especially, make her edgy, which might keep her from drawing closer to her people. In a home where she gets attention and the occasional squeezy tube treat from an owner who patiently lets her blossom, Naomi will be a fine, gentle companion. If you are interested in adopting this TC Paw cat or would like to set up a meet-and-greet, please complete the  Pre-adoption Application .   August 20, 2024, 12:00 pm
