Story
Macy was adopted from the Humane Society about two years ago. She is currently 7 years old. She is a very independent, but will come to you for pets and butt pats. She loves to play with stringy toys. She’s very shy at first but will warm up to people fairly quickly. Macy is on kibble diet as she doesn’t enjoy wet foods as much. Macy is a peckish eater and will not get into food bags. I am looking to rehome her due to relocation out of state and I am unable to bring her along.

Story
Lionel was a neighborhood cat that became ill and one of the neighbors brought him to the shelter. The shelter thought he was old and wanted to euthanize him, so the neighbor decided to find him a rescue that would save him. We stepped in and took him to the vet and the vet said he was only three years old with a five-year period because he had a hard life of living outside (another reason not to have your cats outside!). He suffered greatly with malnutrition, unhealthy living conditions, and a very poor diet resulting in him contracting FIV, but he can still live a long and happy life with it!  Lionel has since been to the vet and he’s starting to gain weight! We suggest no small children and someone who just wants a kitty cat to hang out with. He likes to hang out on the couch and have an occasional piece of donut with you and loves to snack on people food. He enjoys soft blankies and would enjoy a summer catio. He loves to bird watch and lounge on your lap, too! Apply for this sweet baby at www.MichelesRescue.com! ##1845424##

Story
Light Fury is the sweetest old lady. At 14 years old, she has lived a lavish life and she truly knows who she is. She's chatty and she knows how to make herself at home. Shyness? Not a thing for Light Fury! Miss Fury is a polite, respectable feline. She doesn't beg, doesn't make a mess of the bathroom, and never tries to bolt outside. If you like talkative, cuddly cats, she's purrfect for you!

Story
Sweetie here lives up to her name! She is a social cat who is a bit timid about new people and new places. She enjoys hiding in her areas but can easily be persuaded to come out for pets and playtime. Throughout her time in our shelter, Sweetie has blossomed and is very social with familiar faces, meowing at our staff and volunteers for attention! With just a little space and time, our Sweetie opens up into the perfect cat for anyone!

Story
Jasper is a very handsome young boy. The vet estimated that he is about 1 year old (born approximately 4/17/2023). He has a very long fluffy tail that gives him great distinction! His coat is super soft and he enjoys being petted. He was rescued by a very kind lady after being found outside and trying desperately to get inside. Since then, he has been neutered, vaccinated, tested, microchipped and well cared for by his foster mom and is enjoying his inside only home. Jasper LOVES to play and has a favorite toy that will go with him to his new home that he could play with for hours. He also enjoys running through tunnels and appreciates most any toy that you put in front of him. Another favorite activity is sitting on a cat tree and watching out windows at the birds and squirrels and other critters. Jasper is not necessarily a lap cat but he definitely wants to be around people. He will greet you when you return home from work, school, or after running errands. He also enjoys it when visitors come over and will happily introduce himself to them. Jasper has done very well with his foster mom’s grandchildren (ages 6, 9 and 12) so a young family may be a very good option for him. He enjoys following everyone around and checking out what they are doing. At night, he will happily sleep near the foot of your bed if you will let him and he is very good about not being too active at night by getting into things that he shouldn’t. As a youngster, he definitely has a lot of “kitten antics” in him and is very curious but he is also happy to sit with you on the couch and relax. He is a talker especially when he knows it is time for dinner. You will want to watch him when you open the refrigerator as he seems to be just a little bit too curious about what might be in there for him. He can get the “zoomies” sometimes too which is quite funny to watch. Jasper hasn’t lived with other animals that we are aware of but with a proper, slow introduction, he may do just fine especially if the other pet will enjoy playing with him. He will appreciate being in a home with a family that can give him a lot of attention for many years to come!

Story
Captain is an all around great cat who loves to greet people when they visit and will happily follow people from room to room. His full name is Captain Francois LeClerc and he was named after the first recorded pirate with a peg leg. Just like that pirate, Captain is missing a front leg. He lost his leg and half of his tail when he was found on the street as a young stray cat after likely being hit by a car. That was about 9 years ago and he is now about 12 years old (estimated birth date 2/4/2012) and he gets around great without any problems and has a great personality in spite of his rough start in life. Captain has medium-length hair and loves being brushed except on his belly. He enjoys being picked up and held which isn’t always that common for cats. He will always find himself near you even when it seems like he is just sleeping. He generally chooses to lay alone or by your feet and not directly on someone’s lap. Captain enjoys sleeping in pet beds and on cushions throughout the house. He may occasionally sleep on your bed at night but he usually does not stay through the night. He has asthma and may occasionally get a coughing fit (this is very rare fortunately) which is treated with an inhaler that he is great about receiving when needed. He does great with dogs of different sizes and temperaments and enjoys cuddling with them in a big pet bed so he will do great in a home with dogs. He has lived for the last several years with another cat named Mulder (also on Petfinder) and although they are not considered bonded, they get along well and will cuddle and groom each other so if you are looking for two cats of differing ages, they may be a good fit for you. Captain is a submissive cat and will not do well with other aggressive or dominant cats. He prefers to spend his time with other laid back pets who will groom one another and cuddle. He mostly ignores children but can nip at them if they are rough with him or they pet his belly so a home with older children or adults will be the best fit for him. Captain is a very unique boy who looks grumpy but he is really a very gentle and loving sweetheart. He enjoys watching ducks whether in person or on TV. He loves getting his head and chin scratched and will happily sit on a chair near you while you are relaxing. Please ask about this very sweet boy today!
