Story
Styx is a terrified 5-year-old cat. She and her sister Persephone originally came from a closed animal shelter in Kansas and were adopted together 4 years ago. Both girls were returned to us when their human moved in with a family full of allergies. After a few years in her previous home, she refused all human contact. She came to us matted and angry. After a full haircut, she looks much better but is still very angry and scared. The shelter is not a good placement for her, but we are doing our best. She and her sister will need the most patience of any cat we have seen in quite some time. When distracted by food, she is beginning to accept pets! The adoption fee is $125 + tax and covers age-appropriate vaccines, a microchip, and a spay/neuter. The adoption fee helps cover the cost of these vetting procedures. Styx is bonded to Persephone and they must be adopted together. Please note, that we do NOT allow the declawing of any cat or kitten we adopt unless deemed medically necessary.  We will gladly provide you with alternative methods of managing cats with claws. We're open from 12-4 PM every day EXCEPT Wednesday! Did you know you don't need to have an appointment to visit our available cats and dogs***? Simply drop by and if you find a potential new furry friend, you can fill out an application on the day you visit. Go to townandcountryanimalrescue.org to fill out our digital application. Applications are typically processed in 3-5 business days. Once you're approved, you can return on the date and time set up by your adoption counselor, with your family for a meet and greet. If it goes well, you can take your new best friend home on the meet and greet day! ***Please note that animals in foster homes cannot be viewed at our rescue, and appointments are still required to meet them. Story
Bash is a super sweet, super cuddly, family cat. He gets along wonderfully with our dog and our 4yr old. He is always down for cuddles and hugs, loves being picked up and purrs easily and loudly! It really breaks our hearts to have to get rid of him, but since we got him a little over a year ago, he's had problems peeing outside his litter box. At first, there was a health issue that caused it, but he's on a special diet (Royal Canin Urinary SO) now and that part's been resolved. Now, he uses the box 95% of the time, but every couple of weeks/months he just pees on something new. Maybe all he needs is more litter boxes, but with the layout of our house and a young child running around, that's not really an option for us. Bash deserves a wonderful loving home, so I hope I'll find one for him here.

Story
Hello! This is Mike. He is a young cat around 2 - 3 years old. He can be very shy with new people, but once he becomes used to you, he is incredibly affectionate. When we first got him, he was incredibly timid but has really come out of his shell. At this time, we're trying to find a new home for him due to space issues and we feel like he needs a little more space. He is incredibly loved and deserves a good loving, and patient home that will give him all the affection he deserves.

Story
Jacks a little dopey, sometimes seeming to have no thoughts at all. Will chase a wand until he's panting and find a perch or other spot to lay in. He likes beds that are high up and cat hammocks. Prefers little fuzzy worms on wands over feathers.

Story
Playful, shy, and sweet! My name is Naji, I was born on Aug. 27, 2024, at my foster family's house. I'm a very sweet, very handsome, all-gray male, that loves to play and romp around with my foster family and my Mom, Lolo. My other favs: Chasing cat wands or laser pointers! Treats! Wet kitty food! I'd be very happy to share a home with my mom, Lolo, or be the handsome King of the House. l often nap and snuggle with my Mom and would love to do the same with you! I take a little bit of time to warm up to new people, but once I feel safe and loved, I would love to be your very best friend!February 26, 2025, 3:58 pm

Story
My name is Selena!  I am a Calico Domestic Medium Hair born 05/6/2021.  I am good with kiddos and select cats alike, though I am unsure about our canine friends.  I like to hang out with my people during the day and night if you let me!  Sometimes I get a little nervous if I can't find you or hang out in the same room. I like to play and chase the other cats in my hoome. Scratching posts are one of my favorite things!  After playing, it's nap time and if you're lucky, I might even curl up with you on the couch!  I am about to head to our foster home and will be sure to share more soon! The suggested adoption donation for Selena is $65. We are a 501c3 organization which means that your donation may be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. Your donation goes toward the high cost of veterinary care for our animals in rescue, as well as providing supportive services to animals in homes.  Information about the adoption process: All adoptions require a completed ADOPTION APPLICATION. Once your application is approved, we will put you in touch with the animal’s foster to see if you and the pet are a good match. If so, we will arrange a meeting for you and the animal. The adoptions for all of our animals will take place in the Omaha, NE area and must be done by the adoptive family in person. We do not ship or deliver.  Please Note: We are a RESCUE, which is different from a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We always select the right applicant for each animal, based on the animal’s needs. If you and the animal are not a good match, we will help you select another animal, or we will keep your approved application on file for 6 months.  To learn about Muddy Paws Second Chance Rescue or donate to our animals, please visit our website at MuddyPawsSecondChanceRescue.com or our Facebook Page.  ##1114832##
