Meet the Cats of Gettysburg at the Kitty Corner by Forever Love Rescue SWEET AND QUIET Meow! My name is Muffin. My estimated date of birth is 1/01/2021. I am an affectionate fluffy girl. I enjoy being petted on the top and back of my head, and receiving long strokes all the way down my tail. I like to rub against my humans' legs. I can be held for short periods of time. I will lead my people to my favorite spots. I do not like to be brushed but will allow it if I'm being held on arm and brushed with the other. I enjoy being spoken to softly. I like to sit high up on cat trees. I am very playful and energetic. I need a family who will play with me. I love all kinds of toys, but my favorite toys are bouncy rods with feathers and bells, string wands, and automatic chaser toys. I have a special toy platypus that I love! I am love chasing things or laying on the floor, rolling around and batting at toys. I am very fast and strong. I can jump very high. I am gentle. I would prefer a quiet household. I would do best in a home as an only cat or with submissive cats. I am timid around other cats, and need my own dedicated space. I would do best with older, considerate children. I do not like dogs. I am very relaxed and sweet with those I trust. I am an old soul who enjoys lounging on comfy beds and relaxing the day away on a windowsill. I am gentle and very soft. I am independent and cautious of new people, but will warm up to you. I would need a patient adopter who understands I need time to feel comfortable. I am good with other cats, but I can get a bit sassy when they are in my personal space. I'm good with children who are gentle and calm. I have never been around dogs. Mystic and her sister Panda came to us when their owner was evicted and could no longer care for them. We could not fit all of the cats that were in their original home, but the others were taken in by a larger rescue. We were happy to help these lovely girls, and pledged to keep them together as they are very fond of one another. Mystic is as sweet as she is lovely, and is happy to meet new people and new cats. We also suspect she'd do fine with friendly dogs, and her sister has already proven herself to be very curious about canine friends. Mystic came to us suffering from ear infections- she does not enjoy her ear meds but she is not aggressive in the slightest and is doing well with treatment. She and Panda are otherwise healthy and are now fully vetted and ready for adoption!October 28, 2024, 10:44 am

Hello! My name is Akela!  My estimated birthday is 3/25/2023.   I am a long- term resident of the rescue. I was born outside a in a large cat colony. I was just a baby, so I was brought in with two of my brothers, Mowgli and Baloo who are also still available for adoption. I am more on the shy side. It takes me a long time to warm up, so I've been overlooked. I adore other cats. I am more likely to be your cats best friend then yours. I will allow you to pet me but they do make me nervous. If I don't want to be bothered, I will run away. I have never shown any type of aggression. Jake is a friendly, outgoing 3-yr.-old Tuxedo boy. He loves being around people and is always quick greet new friends. Whether he's playing fetch with you, snuggling up on your lap, or just napping nearby, Jake loves hanging out with his humans. He can also be content playing on his own or snoozing when people are busy or out of the house. He is good with kids and has never been aggressive. Jake is an only pet, but was socialized with cats and dogs as a kitten. He is an indoor cat. He is patient with grooming and nail trims. He is in good health, is neutered, and has his shots. Jake is litter-trained and generally good about using the litter box. He will use scratching posts and pads, especially if you encourage him with some catnip! Jake is a very sweet, friendly boy, but due to developing cat allergies and changes in our family, we are looking for a new home for him where he can get the love and attention he deserves. Max just turned 4 on March 12 and is generally a good cat. He loves hanging around with me in the evenings and at night. Sometimes during the day when he is not under our bed. He likes to sometimes come on my lap to be scratched behind his ears, but then, after a while he will out of the blue lash out at me, biting and scratching me before running away. He only does this to me. I am on blood thinners and cannot afford to get a deep cut from him unfortunately. He is not too fond of strangers, however, for some he will eventually come out. When we have our 2 year old granddaughter over he will run away, but in a few hours, he will come out. Max will run away and hide when the doorbell rings or when he sees the UPS and FedEx trucks drive by. He is up to date with his shots however they are due by the end of March. For us, he is just becoming too hard to handle. We are torn having to give him up but we feel we need to.

Meet Big Mac! Big Mac came to us as a stray in May 2023 and has unfortunately been a frequent flier in our care. Big Mac is very easy-going after he gets all of his energy out! He loves to run around and play with his brother and the other cats in our free-roam cattery and has been a big fan of tunnel toys! Big Mac is on the more reserved side compared to his brother but is just as loving. He prefers butt scratches and head rubs over being held but will happily rub against your legs when he comes to check out what you are up to! Big Mac can be a little bit of a bully when it comes to other cats and may do better in a home with just his brother. While not required we would love to see Big Mac go into a home with his brother, Ronald McDonald as they have been together for so long in our care. This handsome boy came to us along with his buddies Uno and Dos in January 2024 and is looking for a quiet home to call his own. Olaf is one of our more skittish kittens at this time but we know with the right amount of patience and time, he will blossom into a wonderful cat! We do believe Olaf would do best in a home with another cat to keep him company and help boost his confidence. Olaf is a lot of talk when it comes to him being surprised and will do little hisses until he realizes that you are not going to hurt him. He likes gentle, slow pets and does not mind being picked up as long as it is on his own terms. A quiet home with not a lot of activity would be the best fit for Olaf until he learns that the world is not as scary as he thought! He is slowly starting to show little bits of his personality here with us and staff and volunteers can occasional catch him tussling with one of his siblings or playing with toys. If you have an extra bit of love to give to a shy kitty, Olaf may be the kitty for you! Olaf is neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. Available as of 02/06/2024
