Whiskey is a loving 2 year old boy. He is a little shy at first, but really seems to love human affection and head and neck rubs. He is housed with Snoop Dog, and they are a bonded pair that entered FCAR together.We are pre-approving applicants. This will ask you questions about which animal you’re interested in, your family, other furry members in the household, whether you own or rent your home and who your Veterinarian is. These allow us to make the best match possible. We touch base with your landlord due to the unfortunate number of landlords who do not allow pets in Franklin County. Our goal with checking in with your Veterinarian is to ensure that the animals of FCAR receive the medical care they deserve. Once we have a positive reference from your landlord (if you rent) and Veterinarian, we will contact you to schedule an appointment with us! If you don't have any pets we understand you would not have a vet reference and we ask for applicants to substitute a personal reference. Please keep in mind, appointments are first come, first serve, based on when your application is approved. Please be patient with your Veterinarian and landlord, as their staff and businesses have been affected by COVID-19 as well. We are incredibly thankful that there has been no shortage in interest! This being said, our staff is limited and we are doing our absolute best to approve applications in a timely manner. This process can take up to a few weeks, but most are approved before then.

Mocha was found as a stray with her kittens and was brought into our care when her finder was unable to keep them. Since coming in, she has been timid and hasn't come out of her shell quite yet. Mocha doesn't have any prior experience with dogs or children that we are aware of. Currently she is in a colony room with other felines and has been okay with them.

Poss came to CVHS after her family lost their housing due to the flooding in July. They are planning on moving, and are unable to take her with them. In the past she has lived with other felines and tolerated them. Since she is new to us, we are still getting to know her personality traits.

She has lived with other felines and tolerated them. In her previous home Tangie loved the men the most, but was also fine with women. Since she is new to us, we are still getting to know her personality traits.This elder girl needs some problem teeth extracted, and that is scheduled for Aug 21.

Sassafras came to CVHS after his family lost their housing due to the flooding in July. They are planning on moving, and are unable to take him with them. Sassafras's owners said he had met a dog and tolerated it. He has lived with other felines and has been good with them. Sassafras has been good with everyone he's met so far. Since he is new to us, we are still getting to know his personality traits, but so far we've seen a friendly, outgoing, confident cat, who enjoys attention.

Chloie is so funny. She can go anywhere in the house, but apparently her crate is her safety zone. She sits there and waits to be pet. If her dish is empty, she sits at it and stares out of the crate waiting for it to be filled.She has been in foster care for iver a year. She takes a while to trust. Once she does, she loves to be pet. She's not so sure about being picked up. Our kittens are vetted at 12 weeks of age and ready for adoption shortly thereafter. If you are approved to adopt a kitten prior to 12 weeks of age, we will “reserve” the kitten for you.
