Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing the Nanny McPhee litter! These medium-haired kittens, born 5/8/24, are playful and social and should fit well into any sort of loving family. Well, Mr Wheen may take a few extra days to adjust (see note below). Mr Jowls (male, tuxedo, grey ribbon in video) Aunt Adelaide (female, calico/tabby, yellow ribbon in video) Mrs Blatherwick (female, tortoiseshell, red ribbon in video) Mr Wheen (male, tuxedo, blue ribbon in video) As you can see from both the photos and the video, Mr Wheen is a "deep thinker" who heard somewhere that the camera will steal his soul. He's the type of kitten I love the most - there's a lot going on behind those eyes, and when he decides you're his person, you will be SO honored! We'd love to see all kittens go to homes that have another young, playful kitten, or to send 2 of them out as a pair (which gives you a great pair discount rate), but we do not require pair adoptions. If you prefer to adopt just one, and you don't have a similarly aged kitten at home already, please read our information on Single Kitten Syndrome. Then, when you apply for a single kitten, please let us know in the "Comments" field how you plan to deal with the "kitten crazies." All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee is a suggested minimum of $65 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you! We have monthly transports to the Seattle area, delivering adopted pets to their new owners. If you can add a little to your donation to help us cover our volunteer driver's expenses, that would be great!

Story
Considering adopting? The first step is to complete our online Adoption Application at http://forgetmenotshelter.org/Application Please do not call the shelter; do the application first. Introducing Derby, a magnificent black and white medium-haired girl who is about 50% fluffy-tail. You'll note that Derby has a "tipped ear" (the very tip of her left ear was surgically removed). This indicates that Derby was part of a feral colony on which we did Trap-Neuter-Return. Her destiny SHOULD have been to go back to her colony with the rest of her family, but she let us know she was not TOTALLY opposed to the idea of humans in her life. Yay! Derby has been spending time in a loving foster home, where she gets along beautifully with the other cats and has learned how to play, and how to accept affection from her foster parents. She will continue to blossom in a calm and patient forever home, until one day you find her curled up next to you when you wake up - awwww! Shy kitties take a little longer to settle in to their families, but the wait is worth it. Do you have enough cat-whisperer in you to continue the wonderful progress with Derby? Here is some information on adopting a shy cat: https://anticruelty.org/pet-library/adopting-shy-cat Judging from the results many of our prior shy-cat adopters have achieved, these shy kitties often become the most devoted and affectionate family members when allowed to blossom at their own rates. Video Coming Soon All pets arrive spayed/neutered, dewormed, microchipped and vaccinated. Adoption fee for Derby is a suggested minimum of $50 (more gratefully accepted). All pets are placed with a 30-day money-back trial period, to give pet and family enough time to discover any unknown allergies or other conflicts. Can't come to Republic? Don't let that stop you!
