Story
Meet Penelope, an outgoing and affectionate cat eagerly waiting for her forever home. Penelope is a sweetheart with a playful disposition and a heart full of love. Penelope adores curling up with her people, purring contentedly as she receives gentle pets and scratches behind her ears. Penelope's favorite pastimes include playing with toys, exploring her surroundings with curiosity, and lounging in cozy sunlit spots. She dreams of finding a family who will cherish her affectionate nature and shower her with the love she so eagerly gives. She would make a great addition to any family and is fine with children. We're not sure how she would do with other animals as she sometimes gets hissy at other cats but with proper, slow introductions it may be possible for her to have a furry friend or two to play with. If you're looking for a devoted companion to brighten your days, Penelope would love to meet you at the shelter and show you just how special she is. When she came to the SPCA, Penelope was ill with a serious infection. She needed intensive vet care and medication to save her life but she has happily bounced back and made a wonderful recovery. As a result of her illness she does seem to have a very sensitive stomach and GI system so is on a special gastrointestinal diet. Adopters will need to be prepared to keep her on an appropriate diet to help her system continue to recover. Ask SPCA staff for more information. Do you think you could be pretty Penelope's person? Story
Meet Lana!Lana came to us as a stray, when she was found wondering around someone's orchard so we don't know a lot about her background. While in care she has shown herself to be layed-back and gentle. Her initially reserved nature gives us the impression that she may appreciate a quieter home, where she can lounge in comfort. She may be fine living with older children and other pets with proper, slow introductions. She enjoys soft pets and watching the world go by. If you're interested in a peaceful, sometimes playful, soul please consider Lana! If you have a home to give and love to share, apply through the link below.https://spca.bc.ca/adoption/cat-pre-adoption-questionnaire/Staff will contact the first matching adopter to set-up a visit! The Adoption Centre is open to the public Tuesday to Saturday for animal viewing from 1pm to 4 pm (except for stat holidays). Story
Meet Frank! Frank is your typical tuxedo kitten, full of charm, love and sillies. he loves playing with his siblings, or curling up for some good old fashioned kitten cuddles. Kittens are a big responsibility, but patience and dedicated hard work, they can be such an incredible addition to anyone's life. Frank loves zooming around playing with his toys but also enjoys lots of pets. He would likely be fine living with children or other animals with proper, slow introductions. Frank came to the SPCA from a rural property with an enormous amount of cats & kittens (300+). Because of this rough start to his life, he has been exposed to various parasites and viruses that can affect cats. he has undergone treatments for all the parasites, been vaccinated, and is now healthy. However, because of his exposure to feline upper respiratory viruses, there is a small possibility of him now being a carrier and because of this he needs to be an indoor cat and either be the only feline in his home or with cats that are fully vaccinated. Talk to SPCA staff for more information. Meet Benny! Benny is your typical tuxedo kitten, full of charm, love and sillies. he loves playing with his siblings, or curling up for some good old fashioned kitten cuddles. Benny does have impaired eyesight from being sick when he was little, which is something potential adopters should consider with Benny. Though his vision may be cloudy, it does not slow him down one bit and he zooms around crazily the same as his siblings. Kittens are a big responsibility, but patience and dedicated hard work, they can be such an incredible addition to anyone's life. Benny would likely do well living with children or other pets with proper, slow introductions and will make a great addition to a home.
