Story
Mr Lucky was born outdoor with a stray mama cat that I been feeding for 2 years. I caught him and his siblings when they were young . He is going to be 2 years old May 1 2024. He loves to play and he gets a long with most of my kitties. He loves to be brushed too. He is a little scared of strangers so might take a little time to get used to you. He really likes the lazer light too. I have to many cats that I have saved from living an outdoor life which would of made him wild. I think it would be good for him to have a home with more attention than I can give since I have so many to care for. It would be nice if he could be adopted with his younger brother that is just over a year.He is orange tabby and likes to play but doesn't like to be touched by humans but he is not mean . That's ok if you rather have just Lucky. He is a good kitty .

Story
Update August 12th, 2024: Maverick has been with us for a few months now, he is my shadow. My other cats just don't like him though, so if I can find someone who will give him the attention he deserves, I would LOVE it. It would be bittersweet to part with him but he deserves a pampered, special life :) If you are looking for a lap cat, look no further. This guy is one of the sweetest cats I've ever known! (and I have known A LOT of cats! 😅) He's cuddly, talkative, affectionate, and he follows me everywhere I go in the house, he doesn't have much desire to go out anymore(he was a stray who came to our door and I started feeding him and eventually coaxed him inside). I have had him neutered, vaccinated, treated for flea and tick, and microchipped, and he uses the litter box. The vet thinks he is about 2.5 yrs old.

Story
Buddy was my foster that I adopted. He is about 4 years old. He is a very friendly, well behaved and quiet guy. He loves to be brushed and comes running when I pick up the brush. He tolerates getting his nails clipped. But he needs to be in a one cat home. He does not like other cats, even ones on the TV.

Story
Santana is a former street kitty with such a sweet soul. He was thin and had an eye infection so his caregiver decided he needed a better life. It took him a few months to decide that he liked the indoor life and now he's very affectionate, often reaching out to the volunteers for attention. He's not much for playing with toys, preferring to watch birds outside the window and nap in high places. Santana seems to like other cats and with slow introductions, he would enjoy a cat friend in his new home. The outdoor life has made him cautious around dogs but it's possible he will learn to accept a resident dog as long as it is calm and doesn't bark at or chase him. He tends to swat at people when he has had enough petting so may not be a good fit for young children. He is a calm, quiet kitty with so much affection to give. If Santana sounds like a good fit for your family, email mdowney@iowatelecom.net to get the adoption process started.

Story
Macy was left in a pet carrier at the City Pound and her previous owner never came forward to explain her situation. She was terrified and behaved violently for the first couple of weeks. For another month, she would solicit attention but then hiss and swat at us. As time went on, Macy began to relax and accept head pets from the volunteers. Now, 8 months later she is showing us her playful side and is very friendly. We have discovered that Macy doesn't like other cats or dogs. We assume she was the only pet in her previous home. Macy is still a little timid and goes back to her "safe spot" whenever she feels overwhelmed. Her ideal home will be calm, quiet and routine. At her recent vet visit she was well mannered but scared and hid her face in the Director's arms. Macy is clean in her cage and uses her litterbox always. She is front declawed and approximately 3 years old. In the right home, one with patience and kindness, Macy will flourish and make someone a really great companion. Please email mdowney@iowatelecom.net for an adoption application.

Story
Meet Kevin, a domestic short hair cat born approximately 2/2020. He's a shy guy, but is very active and loves to give kisses. He's quite friendly but likes to approach his people on his own terms and only once he's observed you for a while to know if you're safe or not. He prefers to come to his person for pets, so he needs someone whose patient and lets him make the choice for attention and affection. He needs a home that makes him feel safe and that keeps him inside. He also knows how to use the litter box. If Kevin is your guy, apply for him today!  The suggested adoption donation for Kevin is $65. Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life. All donations go toward that mission. Story
Meet Lucky, a Domestic Shorthair born approximately 4/2019. Lucky is a typical young cat who loves attention, regularly climbing and zooming around. He's very vocal and friendly and curious about new people. He likes to be close and pet, but doesn't love being held. He loves being brushed and plays with his toys often. Lucky is a very curious little guy, so it may be best to keep things out of reach, especially shoes. He also has accidents outside of his litter box from time to time, so he'll need a lot of patience and possibly re-training. Lucky wants to give you all of his attention, so give him a chance today! The suggested adoption donation for Lucky is $65, which includes a lifetime of free relationship-based training for any behavioral problems (not obedience training). Muddy Paws is a 501c3 non-profit organization meaning that part of your donation MAY be TAX DEDUCTIBLE. We are a 100% volunteer rescue committed to giving animals a second chance at life.
