“Queen” Lisa would love to be the Queen of her Castle. She can get along with others if you will slow intro but she would just as soon not. Her foster mom says she’s a fair weather friend: she likes other cats sometimes & sometimes she doesn’t. She doesn’t like being contained in a carrier but doesn’t mind being held & loved on, and she rewards you with big purrs. Precious Miranda's family lost their home in the recent Helene floods. She was alone for about two weeks before she could be rescued, and she is traumatized. She lived in a quiet home with no children and no other cats; she has lived with a dog before. There's definitely some tortitude given all she's been through, but she is slowly warming up. Miranda needs a peaceful place to heal and lots of patience and love.

Macaroni’s family lost everything in Helene. They are unable to take her to the temporary place they are staying while they prepare to rebuild. As a result, they are now driving back & forth daily to feed her at the site of their former home. Macaroni came to them 2-3 years ago as an outside cat that really wanted to be an inside cat. We are getting her in to see our vet and get her up to date on vaccines. Her family describes Macaroni as a big girl (25-30 lbs) who loves laps, lots of pets and affection, and needs an inside forever home. Not sure how well she does with other cats and children. No dogs. She can be a little skittish at first and then warms up. She needs help cleaning her bottom because of her size. If she goes on a weight-loss plan, it would be helpful to her overall health. Laffy Taffy found her way back to us because her personality was a little too dominant for the other kitties in her household. She definitely has an alpha personality while being extremely loving. She may do well with a cat-loving dog or a cat of similar age & energy. She is a beauty & so very sweet. Wouldn’t you like to meet her?

From original finders/caregivers:  River and Shiloh’s were found the day after hurricane Helene. They are both incredibly friendly, cuddly, and playful, and are amazing with dogs and children. They have been living since then with a toddler and a puppy so they are very well socialized. They love each other so much and spend most of the day napping and playing together. Shiloh (the black cat) is the more cuddly of the bunch, and will lay on your lap every time you sit down, if you let her. River is more independent and playful, but still loves to cuddle, and has really connected with the dog she grew up with, so would be great in a house with a friendly dog. They would love to stay together if at all possible, but have proved to be very flexible and easily pleased.From their MPR fosters:  We have not seen the bond their kitties are described to have, it is possible changing homes has triggered this chance and they may settle back in together well given time in a home but so far, they seem like they would be happiest with a cat-friendly dog in their home.  We have seen that in multiple homes.  River is like an old soul… she says so much with her eyes. Super playful, a little dainty. She’s a grazer when it comes to eating.  Loves to play with wand toys.Shiloh is a big ole lovely boss. She is a little bossy, and she will sometimes give River the what-for. That said, she is goofy and very playful. Once she’s comfortable with you, she might start nursing on you or a blanket as a form of self-comfort.  I do not recommend picking them up at the same time or putting them in the same crate. Shiloh is territorial about her space (but not about food…will share just fine.  I picked them up at the same time and had a baby cat skirmish on my hands. They love dry kitten chow. They do not really care for canned food. I’ve tried all different kinds. Muesli is the sweetest little girl. She loves to chase the feather stick and mouse but also likes a lap snuggle. Little Gomez came to us as a one pound kitten that had a condition known as Pectus Excavatum - the shelter contacted us because most of the time they are euthanized but thankfully they reached out to us as we knew we could fix this little guy. Because he only weighed a pound - we had to wait to surgically correct his condition but honestly you would have never known there was anything wrong with him - he was your typical happy and playful kitten. Once he was a little older and hit the 3 pound mark he was able to have the procedure to correct his condition at a specialist. He came through it great and has been medically cleared and should have no further issues and he is your normal - happy go lucky kitten that just wants to play and sometimes try and steal some human food. He is still on the small side but he is a totally amazing little guy that is hoping to find a family to call his own. He is fostered with 2 other cats and would love to have a companion to play with. He has not been around dogs but with proper introductions, he would adjust and be fine as long as the dog has been around cats before. Gomez has been combo tested (negative) - he is current on vaccines, dewormed, neutered and microchipped. His adoption fee is $75.00. Meet Fender! Fender is a sweet and goofy guy. He is very affectionate and wants to find his forever home. Fender is very alert and protective. He cares immensely about his inner circle and loved ones. He can be a little anxious about new people and surroundings. He values stability and does NOT like catnip.
