Story
Meet Batman—yes, you read that right. This adorable, affectionate little superhero was microchipped, and we tried every possible way to contact his original owner, but sadly, we didn’t hear back. Lucky for you, though, that means you have a chance to welcome him into your life!Batman is a snuggle machine. He loves to play and has some serious goalie skills—he’ll block any rogue ball that dares to come his way. He's also totally cool with dogs who understand the art of respecting personal space (no chasing, please). His purr is practically constant—he’ll purr while he’s playing, while he’s cuddling, while he’s giving you an adorably gentle “nose bop.” Think of him as a personal purring pillow that just wants to make you smile. At first, we thought Batman might be a bit of a “biter” (and honestly, who could blame him with those claws gone?), but we quickly realized he had a health issue that was making him feel cranky. Once we figured out that Batman has diabetes, he started feeling a lot better. And you know what? He’s SO chill about his insulin shots—he takes them like a champ. He gets two shots daily (morning and evening), and in true Batman style, he even purrs through them. It’s like he’s saying, "What’s next, hero?"He’s currently on a high-protein, zero-carb diet that he’s not very picky about, so you won’t have to break the bank trying to find the perfect brand. He even has a glucose reader at his foster home to keep an eye on his levels—because why should he have to go to the vet for every little thing? The good news is, there's a chance his diabetes could go into remission, but we can’t promise anything. Now, let's talk about the costs of being Batman’s personal caretaker. Insulin is around $70 for three months, syringes are $20 for about 50 days, and glucose test strips run about $28 for 100 strips. So yeah, there’s a little bit of upkeep, but we promise Batman is worth every penny. He’s gained weight, looks healthier, and is ready to enter any “cutest cat” calendar contests you can find. (With his looks, he's basically guaranteed a spot!)Batman is a resilient, sweet boy who wants to be loved—and he deserves a home that’s ready to give him the care he needs. If you’re up for the challenge, he’ll repay you with endless purrs, nose bops, and the kind of cuddles that make your heart melt.Submit an app here - athenshumane.org/adopt

Story
Nova- Male approx 2-3 years oldNova came from an awful past, we got him and 3 others after their owner was found to be deceased. They had been left behind in a small camper. They were all very shy but they are slowly warming up. Nova is definitely warming up and he also really likes his sister Esther. They take comfort in each other. They will both need some decompression time in a new home but we believe that with a bit of time they’ll be social and cuddly with her new owner. Esther and Nova tested positive for FIV. This is only spread to other cats via blood to blood contact - for example a deep bite wound. FIV+ cats can live long happy lives. They are just more susceptible to viruses so they should always be kept up to date on vaccines and should be indoor cats only. Would you consider giving Esther and Nova a cozy forever home? ❤️🐾To meet her or any of our other adoptable pets, submit our application here -Athenshumane.org/adopt
