Story
Missy, born April 2023, was discovered as a small ball of fur with huge eyes in a parking lot. She is very affectionate, very energetic and very, very vocal (if she wants something, you will know!). She is not recommended for homes with children or other pets. She does not bite or claw people, she snuggles and purrs. She does not get carsick or scared in vehicles - as long as her Person is there with her! Myssy is a very timid cat, one that will need lots of love and adjustment time. Silverton Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. We deliver the kitty to your home, so you must live within an hour of Silverton. $125 adoption fee for kitties under one year and $100 for kitties over one year. Please fill out an application, https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at  silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information. We do use the application to match our kitties to the purrfect home. Please be patience when you apply for a kitty; we are all volunteers. All our kitties are altered (spayed/neutered), microchipped, receive age appropriate vaccines, are dewormed, treated for fleas and tested for FIV/FELV.

Story
Hi! I'm Ida, and I am very excited to meet you! I'm a sweet, gentle girl who loves to be pet, cuddled, and played with. I enjoy exploring and love to jump and climb! I am super playful, and could play with my favorite string toys all day long. Nothing makes me happier than quality time with my favorite humans. If you're looking for a buddy who will be a loyal, fun, and adorable companion, I'm your girl! Until recently, I spent my whole life within a laboratory cage being poked and prodded. I never got to enjoy a chin scratch or the experience of a lazy day of sleeping by a window. Now I'm finally free! After everything I've been through, it can take me a few days to warm up to a new environment-- but once I do, I will be the most fun and friendly cat you've ever met. The humans who have met me refer to me as a little ray of sunshine, and say I'm pretty clever, too! I would love to find a home where I can have my own bed to curl up in and cat tree to jump on. After all my time being locked away, I am ready for all the love and attention a family can give me. I get along with all kinds of humans and am friendly with dogs. I would be happiest in a home with no other cats. If you are interested in adopting Ida, please fill out an adoption application at https://bfp.org/rescue/ and email us with questions: adopt@bfp.org. Story
Hello new friends, I'm Claw-dette! And I'm the cuddliest kitty you'll ever meet. To me, there is no such thing as a stranger, as I love everyone I meet (human or animal) right away! I would be the perfect family cat, as I am gentle and full of endless amounts of love. I love to nuzzle my head against you, sit on your lap, and hang out together. I've never had toys before, but I think they're fun and am learning how to play for the first time in my life! I like to groom other cats and snuggle with them, so I'd love to go to a home with at least one other kitty sibling. Please take me home-- I promise to give you nuzzles, cuddles, and affection every single day. Until recently, I spent my whole life within a laboratory cage being poked and prodded. I never got to enjoy a chin scratch or the feeling of enjoying sunshine by a window. Now I'm finally free! Story
Hello everyone, I'm Opal. You wouldn't know by looking at me, but I spent my whole life within a laboratory cage. I never got to enjoy a chin scratch or a lazy day of sleeping in a cozy spot. Now I'm finally free! After all my time being locked away, I am ready for all the love and affection a family can give me. My foster family says I'm as friendly as can be! "Snuggling" is my middle name, and all I want to do is be pet. I love to knead and get SO excited when my favorite humans come to pet me. I'm a young gal who just wants to purr, purr, purr. Other cats are always welcome to be my friend, too. But I wouldn't mind being an only cat, either. Please take me home! I promise to make your days brighter. Story
Dolly is a sweet 5 year old Tabby who has brightened our lives in the six weeks since we've been fostering her. Dolly is sweet and lovable, often looking to play or to cuddle, and vocally makes her intentions clear! Dolly would be the perfect fit for those looking for a more social and involved cat. After a few days of acclimation to her new life of freedom, Dolly quickly got used to the apartment lifestyle. She is perfectly litter-box trained and hasn't yet had any accidents in the house. She's very food motivated and will make sure you don't forget to feed her each morning and evening - she enjoys eating dry food on top of Weruva wet food and also loves the freeze-dried chicken treats from Trader Joes! She's easy to care for given enough love and attention and will be especially comfortable in a home where at least one person is frequently home! Dolly is still learning how to enjoy being a free cat after her laboratory past but she has made massive strides since we started fostering her. She loves her favorite cat-approved scratcher toys. Dangler toys and felt mice are also frequent favorites of hers. She also loves being close to her humans: when she has a chance, Dolly loves nothing more than to sleep right on top of you, if not cuddled up right next to you! She also enjoys being pet on top of her head, under the collar, along her back, and especially below the chin. Dolly does get overstimulated sometimes and will occasionally hiss or swipe if she isn't getting enough attention, but she is learning to be OK on her own for longer periods of time and does this less-and-less as time goes on. Dolly is a very sweet cat and we have enjoyed welcoming her into our home!

Story
Lady Violet, born October 2022, brought her newest litter to an unsuspecting Good Samaritan in Salem to get them out of the rain. She brought with her one kitten from her previous litter, Rue. These ladies belong together. Lady is long and lean, elegant and loving, playful and snuggly. Rue is her shadow, watching everything her mama does, and joining in whenever she can. Lady is more solitary, but lets her human know when she’s ready to he held, perched at your shoulder or cradled in your arms. Silverton Cat Rescue is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Story
Cat is a stray that showed up approximately the end of May 2024. He was an intact male, very friendly and hungry. My neighbor and I have tried to locate his family but have been unsuccessful. We took him in to a clinic last week and had him neutered and given shots, flea meds and dewormer. He loves to be petted and is very vocal when you talk to him. Currently, he is an outdoor cat and hopefully, once the hormones die down, he could be an inside only cat. The clinic said that he is about one year old and weighs 10.6 lbs. Neither my neighbor nor I can keep him since she now has two inside cats and two ferals that we fixed last year and I have five indoor cats already. He would need to be carefully introduced to new surroundings and any other pets that reside there.

Story
Tera is a beautiful 2-year-old orange and white domestic shorthair with a unique and vibrant personality. She may seem a bit "psycho" when you first meet her, but don't let that deter you. Tera simply needs time to trust and decompress in a new environment. Once she feels safe and secure, she transforms into the most loyal and loving companion you could ask for. Tera thrives best in a home without children where she can have the peace and quiet she needs to feel comfortable. While she is tolerant of other animals, Tera would really love to be the queen of her castle and have all your attention to herself. One of Tera's favorite things is finding cozy spots to lounge and observe her kingdom. She's got a knack for making you laugh with her quirky antics and will reward your patience with endless affection. If you're looking for a loyal companion who just needs a little time to show her true loving nature, Tera might be the perfect match for you! ##2034542##

Story
Our Roxy is an amazingly sweet girl who deserves the most special home who understands her needs.  She is small im stature and a cuddle bug who loves to be carried to bed and snuggle against you all night.   She will let you kmow loud and clear if she needs anything!    Roxy was born with CH:  Cerebellar hypoplasia ("CH") is a neurological condition in which the cerebellum is smaller than usual or not completely developed. ... In cats, this condition is also called "Wobbly Cat Syndrome.   It never worsens and never gets better though they learn to manage it.  She is moderate on the scale and controls her head and shoulders very well.  Roxy is very sefl sufficient but needs a house with room for her to leap about and not chaotic.   Roxy will wobble her way to the litter box and does her very best to always hit her mark.  She is very loving and loves to be held or lay on your lap.  She currently lives with several other cats and four large dog's, but gets scared and screams if they get in her immediate space and will tell them about it.. she's very vocal!    with that, she would do much better in a home with less active or chill dogs and cats.  She just gets scared if she thinks she is going to get trampled!    if you are interested in Roxy, plese include a paragraph on why you feel you are the best home and your experience with CH. Roxy is avaiable in the PDX area of Oregon (including Salem and surrounding area).    ##1872345##

Story
Maverick is our very special sweet boy who deserves all the love in the world!  He's very laid back and will sit with you for hours watching movies and wants to be near you.   Maverick is a speicial needs boy with severe CH (also known as wobbly cat syndrome).   Here is a link where you can find more info on CH:  https://www.thenoahcenter.org/2022/09/28/the-truth-about-ch-cats/ Maverick is about 4 years old and along with having CH, he is missing several teeth and has a front "snaggle tooth"- but is healthy!     He's neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccines and has had base line bloodwork upon joining the rescue all of which was completely normal.     He does have  tremors that are common with CH and also a pretty severe head bobble - so drinking water is difficult and he eats wet food and sometimes dry kibble mixed in water in raised bowl.     He was raised by a family who loved him very much but just didn't have the time to continue caring for him.   He uses a litter box but because of his severity and wobbles, he needs help getting in and out and will lay down to do his stuff.    He is on a schedule though and will go in the litter box when you put him in the box on a schedule.    Maverick has lived with big dogs and other cats in his foster home, but he mostly loves just being with his person.   If you have had a CH cat previously, then. you know how much love they provide and what a joy they are to care for.    With Maverick's severity level, he does need someone who has experience with CH and is aware of what they require.  If you are interested in Maverick, please provide a few sentences on why you want to adopt Maverick and how you are prepared for him.   ##2000741##

Story
God's Dogs Rescue plus Kitties does NOT transport any cats or kittens in or out of the state of Texas. It is too stressful for the cats or kittens to be transported long distances, especially when enclosed in a vehicle containing dogs and puppies. Thank you for your understanding. Meet Maxine, a resilient cat who faced a challenging start in life, but with the support of her foster mom, she transformed into a wonderful feline friend. Max's early days were tough, but her foster mom showered her with love and care, turning her life around and providing a warm and nurturing environment. Possessing the typical independent nature of cats, Max displayed a mind of her own, exploring her surroundings with curiosity and a hint of mischief. Despite her independent streak, Max had a sweet side, surprising everyone by transforming into a snuggle bug when the mood struck, showcasing her affectionate and loving nature. Max's journey from a rough beginning to a delightful and loving cat is a testament to the transformative power of care and compassion in the lives of our furry friends. This cat can only be adopted in the state of Texas and has an adoption fee of $100.

Story
Andrew and Alexis are siblings born 06/2023. They were part of a feral cat colony in Salem. These guys are like two peas in a pod and must be adopted together. Andrew is a talker. He demands treats. He has a great purr too! Andrew will be shy at first. He loves to play. Andrew is often found on our laps. He does great with our little barky dog. Alexis is our official greeter. He loves to play and is an expert snuggler. He is one of the most social kitties I have ever fostered. Andrew will take longer to adjust, but you can win him over with a laser toy, treats and patience. Having his brother, Alexis, will help Andrew adjust to a new home. PLEASE READ: Adoption fee $100 for adult (over 12 months old) and $125 for kitten (under 12 months old). All cats coming into your care will be delivered altered (spayed/neutered), tested for Fiv/FELV, microchipped, have received age appropriate vaccines, treated for fleas and worms. We are not first come, first serve. We try to match our kitties with the purrfect home. Silverton Cat Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We are an all volunteer organization. All our kitties are in foster care. We ask that you be patient with us as we connect you to the foster to set up a meet and greet. Most of our kittens are placed in bonded pairs. One of the most important ways we can support the behavioral and emotional development of a kitten is to make sure they’ve got a friend. Despite the common belief that cats are solitary animals, they’re actually incredibly social beings who thrive when they have feline friends from an early age. That’s why the cat experts always recommend adopting two kittens, or adopting a solo kitten only if you already have another young cat in the home for the kitten to befriend. It may come as a surprise to hear this, but two kittens are actually half the work of one! Giving your kitten a buddy will improve the lives of the cats while also making your life easier. In order to make sure cats under our care go to the safest and most compatible homes we require adoptees to fill out our Rescue’s application and accept a home visit. Please fill out an application, https://www.shelterluv.com/matchme/adopt/SIL/Cat or email us at silvertonrescue@gmail.com for more information.
