Meet Forest, a charming 4-year-old Domestic Shorthair (DSH) with a heart full of curiosity and friendliness. Despite a rough start, where he was found with severe matting, Forest’s resilient spirit shines through. He’s currently sporting a unique look, missing some fur on his hindquarters, but that only adds to his endearing character. Forest is ready to explore, play, and share his affectionate nature with a loving family.November 4, 2024, 1:05 pm

Story
My name is Lion. I am a healthy 8 years old male grey tabby with white and dark stripes.I am a special cat, I have two sets of ears. I have one sibling that I get along with (shaddow). I enjoy playing with toy wands, and crinkle balls. I love to lounge on blankets and up high in my cat tree. I love walks around inside the house. I love treats. I enjoy solving puzzles to get my treats. I like quiet spaces and enjoy children above the age of 6 years and that are gentle. I like gentle dogs, and a rubber maid bin for my litter box (it has lots of room and i like it). I am litter box trained and carrier trained (when going on trips, please cover me and carrier with blanket, it keeps me calm).I also enjoy looking out windows at wild life. I am a calm cat that enjoys to take it easy and would like to call your home my forever home. Likes: he likes cat wands, crinkle balls, cuddling on blankets and on cat trees, likes to smell hands before he is touched, prefers children above 6 years.

Hi Y'all, My name is Wilma and I have been told that I am a very sweet girl. I love my new indoor life. I was rescued with my babies and taken into a nice and loving foster mom's home. I love to find a soft spot on the couch or bed and lay with her and will be so happy with you, too. I always want to be brushed and will follow you to the next room for more and more. Foster mom says that I am a great companion, talkative, cuddly, and just looking for love. Would you like to love me fuuuuuuuurrrrrrever?????? What more would you ever need??? I'm ready to become your furry lifelong friend. Check with my foster to arrange a Meet and Greet. I'll have my bags packed. Hi Y'all My name is Bailey and my foster mom says that I am the sweetest cuddle bug cat she has ever seen. I really love to cuddle and have my belly scratched. I sometimes give little nibbles and pull hands in closer, but I do stop as soon as you say “Easy, be nice”. I love chasing golf tees, leaves and little pompoms. I carry the little pompoms in my mouth around the house. I also like playing hide and seek and I will wait around corners for you. I am a nosy little bugger who loves to go into closets, cupboards and any closed doors. I can't help it...when a door is closed, I feel left out and I have to see what is going on behind Door #1 and Door #2. I haven't been locked into a closet yet but........... I will bring a cat’s joy and peace to your life. Are you ready to meet me and decide that I am purrrrrfect for you????? Story
Hi Y'all, My name is Ivy. I was bottle-fed with my sister starting when we were 3 weeks old. Now I am with another foster mom who is just as kind and loving as my first one. My foster mom says that I am incredibly sweeeeet probably because I have been held and loved since I was a really small new baby. I love to cuddle with her and crawl all over her shoulders, back and then onto her lap. I'm quite an acrobat, aren't I? My foster mom has a little toddler who loves to play with me, too. We live with a puppy and another kitten and an older previously feral kitty. Full house filled with job and happiness. I don't know why this happens by my little red tongue is always hanging out of my mouth. Maybe it started doing this when I was being bottle-fed??? Maybe I was always ready to grab the bottle??? Anyway, I make everyone laugh when they see me with my red tongue broadcasting to the world. I am practicing being a DIVA kitty. Ha!!! I follow my foster mom around our house and cry out to her to find me and pick me up and cuddle. I don't like to be alone or miss out on lots of good hugs and kisses. If you're looking for a kitten who’ll keep you entertained and then shower you with affection, Ivy, me, is your girl! What more would you ever need??? I'm ready to become your furry lifelong friend. Check with my foster to arrange a Meet and Greet. I'll have my bags packed.. Story
Hi Y'all, I am Kit, a sweet kitten according to my foster mom but shy compared to my sisters, Marla and Dottie. She picks me up but I want to get down after a period of time. I am building up my confidence in humans and slowly I hope to be not as shy and cuddlier like my sisters. Please see how sweet I am..... you'll love me so much. And like my sisters I love treats, too, especially Churu and Applaws tuna loin filet. Please make sure you have these in your home when you adopt me. I am so spoiled and won't be very happy without these amazing treats. Sorry but I am a Diva with my treats. I enjoy playing with cat teasers toys and I get very excited for catnip and catnip toys! Guess I must be addicted to catnip.......but then how many kitties are not???? My sisters are Dottie and Marla. We sleep together, play together and do just about everything together. So, if you are looking for 2 or 3 kitties to adopt, we would be a great and very happy trio. We are all so beautiful. What more would you ever need??? I'm ready to become your furry lifelong friend. Check with my foster to arrange a Meet and Greet. I'll have my bags packed for that day. Story
Hi Y'all, I am Gris and oh so handsome. Along with my also handsome brother, Bris, we are looking for a purrrrrrmanent family. And do we know how handsome we ascribe to the “look don’t touch” mindset when it comes to new people, preferring to be admired while we lounge in the sun. We are not usually interested in being picked up or held, but once we warm up to you we love having our chins and backs scratched. Treats and toys are the fastest way to win our hearts. Both of us young boys are very active. We love to chase each other and will play for hours. I am especially inquisitive and have a sly and slick habit of stealing new toys out of the shopping bag as soon as it is within reach, though I will always share. I get along well with other cats and the small, calm dog we currently live with. I am a very clean and neat kitty, and I am fully litterbox trained. I will be microchipped and up to date on all my vaccinations when you take me home for a Meet and Greet. Why wait any longer? My bags are packed and ready to go to your home. I know it will be a furrrrrever home. And don't forget to bring home my brother Bris, too. You'll have double the fun for years and years to come. If you would like to meet me, the first step is to complete the Humane Association of the Lowcountry (HAL) Adoption Application located on the HAL website. The URL is: http://www.halsc.org Look forward to meeting you, Gris

Story
Chica (along with her sister Tigeressa) are both looking for their forever homes. They were adopted and became loving companions to their owner; a single woman living alone who battled multiple forms of cancer. Chica and Tigeressa remained lovingly by her side throughout every stage of her battle. They were constant loyal companions to their owner and always brought her comfort. Tragically, their owner unexpectedly passed away during the summer of 2024. Along with her family members, Chica and Tigeressa were heartbroken and distraught over their beloved owner’s sudden passing. Their owner’s daughter made many efforts to merge Chica and Tigeressa with her own 3 cats and have them all blend together; however, it has not been successful. Chica was adopted as an adult and is estimated to be around 10 years old. She is very sweet and loves to curl up on a warm windowsill in the sunshine. She has been strictly indoors since being adopted by her original owner.

Story
C’mon ginger lovers, do we have a cat for you! Peaches is so awesome and we have no idea why, but she keeps getting overlooked as many other of our cats have been adopted. She has been with AAC in a foster home for a while now and we have really gotten to know her. She is a true people cat and loves to play. She is a young and VERY smart cat. She loves cuddles and just hanging out after play. She is fully vetted, spayed and estimated at about a year old. Despite being abandoned at a young age, she has taken it all in stride. She is brave, silly and interactive. While Peaches is a love and would probably do well with another feline-friendly cat in her new home, she would also thrive as a spoiled solo cat. Understanding she has been through some rough times and will need a little time to settle into her new home and trust her new people, respectful/gentle older children (or a child-free home could work too) are recommended. Very few orange cats are female, so this little girl is a true diamond in the rough. We actually think this one is smart enough … you could teach her tricks! INDOOR HOMES ONLY. Being on the streets was rough on this little one. For the safety of our cats, a home check is a requirement of adoption. But we make this as convenient as possible. Our required application can be found here: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152 AAC’s new Adoption Program is run by all volunteers and is very small so we have limited space to help cats (who have nowhere else to go and usually are facing euthanization). So when you adopt Peaches, you also open up a space so we can save another life.

Story
Oreo has been with us for a little while now and we have really gotten to know him. He came to us when he was abandoned with his sister Hazel (now adopted) at a local trailer park. He has been taken into a wonderful foster home to decompress from his time on the streets and wow, is he is doing GREAT! The potential in him is truly unlimited; and someone will be so lucky to have this journey of discovery and further emotional healing with him. We have learned he is a total love bug once he learns to trust you. This can take a week or two, so we are looking for a kind and patient adopter to simply let this shy little guy acclimate at his own speed. We have also learned that he does great with other young cats and might really enjoy a cat-friendly, confident buddy who will show him the ropes in his new home. But he would also thrive as your one and only. Let’s work together to find this diamond in the ruff his furever family. He is estimated at about 2 years old, fully vetted, healthy and on the smaller side for a male cat. He has great litter box habits, isn’t picky about food. INDOOR HOMES ONLY (he has had enough of the streets). For the safety of our cats, home visits required. We make this as convenient and unobtrusive as possible. Adoption fee $50. If you are interested in adopting Oreo, please fill out our required application via the below link: https://form.jotform.com/231967731104152
