Story
He was found in a vacant dirt parking lot here in Arizona in April 2024. With help of another lady from town and and HARTT trapping we were able to trap him in June 2024. His story of from what we’ve heard is he belonged to a homeless man that died a year ago behind a store near that vacant lot. He’s just been traveling back-and-forth by himself across busy Florence blvd Main Street in town for the last year. Living on his own and running from people. He was very mangy, had tape worms and didn’t like to be touched didn’t trust anyone. While he was in that vacant dirt lot, it was hot and in the summertime he was burning his paws crossing the main street and running from people who are chasing him on ATVs and scaring him in the middle of the night. He’s a very loving boy very smart will be very easy to train. Needs training on leash doesn’t like that. He plays well with my Great Dane. He's chipped neutered, and up-to-date on shots. He deserves his own home and family. I named him Duke!

Story
MEET JACK JACK!! Jack Jack is a happy, social dog whose loyalty to anyone he loves is such a gift! Jack Jack is potty trained, good with kids, does well with cats after he gets over his initial excitement of meeting them, does well with other dogs, sleeps through the night, & is energetic/playful. Jack Jack has separation anxiety & struggles being away from whichever adult he sees as the alpha. He does not enjoy crate time & will cry loudly for someone to get him even if he can see you. He loves riding in cars but requires a divider between the front seats and backseats because he will be jumping around. He is extremely loyal & will need someone who can be patient with him while he builds trust & security in a new home. Jack Jack is a great dog and will make a great pet for someone who will put in the effort. Story
Gilly is finally ready for her new home! She is a little strong willed but she is very smart. She was picked up as a stray so we don't have any background information on her. She is probably around 3 to 4 years old. She likes to be the boss of the other dogs so she would do best if we found her a home where she is the only dog or with a submissive male. She has been very playful with the boys we have had her with but rough so she might be too much for smaller dogs. She would do best with an owner who has experience with big dogs and some training. PLEASE e-mail (do not call) mike@caaronline.org for more information and to set up an appointment to adopt. Do not e-mail us with a request to call you, if you have a question please ask in the e-mail.   All dog are adopted on a first come - first served basis. Story
Frito was picked up as a stray, so we have no background information on him. Malinois are not a dog for a first time dog owner or somebody who lives in an apartment. They need room to exercise and somebody who will train and work with them. They are great dogs for an active lifestyle and want to do it with you. Frito has been neutered, is current on his vaccinations and has been microchipped so he is ready to go home now! Story
Hi, I’m Grover, a friendly and fun-loving Malinois mix boy who is looking for a new home. I don’t remember much about my past, but I know I was a stray in Yuma, Arizona until some nice people from animal control found me and took me to a shelter. There, I met some other dogs and humans who were very kind to me. They even arranged for me to get a ride to Phoenix, where I am now staying with the Central Arizona Animal Rescue. They are taking good care of me, but I really want to find a family who will love me forever. I am a neutered male, about 1 year old, and I have been vaccinated and microchippedI love playing with toys, especially squeaky ones, and I enjoy running around and having fun. I have lots of energy to burn off! I am very friendly and get along well with people and other dogs. I am not aggressive or possessive, and I don’t bark too much. I am also very smart and eager to learn new things. I am working on my leash skills and manners, but I need some more practice and guidance. I am looking for a home where I can be part of the family and get lots of love and attention. I would love to have a yard where I can run and play, or at least go for regular walks. I would also like to have some toys to keep me entertained and happy. I don’t mind if you have other pets, as long as they are friendly too. I just want to be your loyal companion and best friend.
