Story
**COURTESY POST** Please call Danielle directly if interested.  847-452-7742 This is Odyn. Odyn is looking for a spiffy new home and someone to call his best friend!  Odyn came from an out of state high kill shelter and we haven’t been able to find a foster or forever home for him in over a year! He has spent most of the past year in a kennel facility and he deserves better. He is about 45lb, maybe 5 years old. We believe him to be a Dutch Shepherd/Pitty mix. He’s gentle and sweet with a little bit of sass. He loves humans and will do anything for a treat. He loves playing fetch with his ball or squeaker. He is a big snuggler and will melt into your lap if you let him. Odyn is very smart and knows most of his basic commands. He loves his crate and goes into his crate on command, does well in the car and on a leash, is potty trained, and does not have destructive habits. He seems fine with other dogs and cats while on a leash or through a fence as shown in the video, but we haven’t been able to successfully introduce him to other animals when he meets them nose to nose and no fence. We could possibly consider homing him with well balanced dogs the same size or smaller if introductions went well, but prefer him to be the only animal in the home. Odyn needs to be in a home with no children because he lacks a bit of confidence and the unpredictable behavior of children could make him nervous. He has not been behavior-tested with children. He would do best with a gentle, but structured human who can help him feel confident and secure, and one who is willing to continue any necessary training needed to build his confidence, if needed. When you meet Odyn, his gentle eyes and sweet demeanor will snatch your heart right out of you. If you can’t commit to adoption, he is in need of a foster home as well! Located Elgin, IL Please inquire today and come meet this deserving boy! Please contact Danielle to 847-452-7742 to meet Odyn ##1294602##

Meet Parrot, a shepherd mix with a name as unique as his personality! This handsome guy came in as a stray, and while he can be a bit uncertain at first, he really comes out of his shell when he's with his best buddy, Treasure. With the right family, Parrot is ready to soar! He's looking for a home where he can get plenty of positive training, maybe a canine companion, and tons of adventures. Parrot's the kind of dog who just needs a little encouragement to spread his wings and show you what a fun, loyal, and loving friend he can be. If you're ready for a new adventure with a sidekick who's as smart as he is sweet, Parrot is your guy!Parrot weighs 64lbs

Kali is a very very interesting name... I was named after a Hindu goddess, like Mother Nature?? WOW, I need to cash in on this amazing name, right?? Nah, I hope that my name, which is kind of cute- GETS ME A HOME!! I mean, have you seen me? I am a brindly, gray/fawn GODDESS of love and soft fur :) I was tied to the fence at the rescue, with my friend Zeus Boy (he has been adopted already) one early Sunday morning. We were immediately taken in by the rescue, it was a very sad letter left with us on the fence.... we were very loved but our family had to move in with a parent and the parent's dogs were fighting us and hurting us :( So they did the best they could to find us a safe place to find great homes..... now I am the ONLY ONE LEFT to find that AMAZING HOME@!! I am a beautiful shepherd girl, my soft fur is so brindly and colorful you will gaze at me for hours :D I am a young gal, had heartworms and was already treated for it, so I am just ready to be YOURS :) ADOPT ME, must love and know Shepherds- I am a wonderful example of the breed. You will have the BEST friend for life!!! Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area, $50 temporary fuel fee will be included)

Story
Hello, potential adopters! My name is Carter, and I'm an enthusiastic boy looking for my forever home. I may be a big guy, but I'm filled with love and excitement that I can't wait to share with my new family. My friendly nature makes me a social butterfly- I love meeting new people and making friends wherever I go. I'm always ready to wag my tail and greet you with a big smile on my face. Carter's Favorite Things: Chews: I enjoy crunching on my favorite chews in my safe spaces. Outside Time: I love being outside and taking in my environment. Hikes: I enjoy doing a few miles on the trails with my favorite volunteers. Cues That Carter Knows: Sit Down Let's Go! Greeting Manners I absolutely love going for walks and exploring the world around me. With my boundless energy, I'm the perfect companion for an active family who enjoys outdoor adventures. Not only am I eager to have fun, but I'm also a bright pup who loves learning new tricks and cues. I'll happily participate in training sessions, especially if it means earning tasty treats and your praise. Carter is an all-star dog, and his adoption appointment includes a discussion with the training team, as well as a few enrichment goodies to help get you both off to a good start. To learn more about Carter or to schedule an appointment to meet him, please email info@ahconnects.org (including your name and phone number), and the staff will be happy to assist you. Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Story
Meet Bo, the magnificent 2-year-old German Shepherd with a heart as big as his size! Weighing in at an impressive 99 pounds, Bo is ready to find his forever home where he can thrive and spread his love. Bo's journey hasn't been without its challenges, especially when it comes to meeting other dogs. While he may not have found success in the past with canine companions, he has a heart full of love to give and could flourish as a solo dog. However, he might enjoy the company of doggy friends during outdoor adventures under the right circumstances. Bo's affectionate nature makes him a wonderful match for a family with 1-2 older children (he may become overstimulated with too much activity). He adores belly rubs, head scratches, and basking in the warm sunlight. Bo's playful spirit comes alive when he's chasing tennis balls or frolicking in the snow - he's a true outdoor enthusiast! Despite his size, Bo is a gentle giant who craves human companionship and thrives on affection. His love for his family knows no bounds, and he's sure to bring endless joy and laughter into your home. If you're searching for a loyal and loving companion to share your life's adventures, look no further than Bo. With his gentle nature, playful spirit, and unwavering devotion, he's sure to become an irreplaceable member of your family. Don't miss out on the opportunity to welcome Bo into your heart and home - adopt him today and experience the unconditional love of a rescued dog! Disclaimer: This animal is not in Anderson custody. and is a courtesy post to help a member of the community rehome directly without shelter intervention. Any adoption inquiries should be directed to the owner at valeriacarrera10@gmail.com. Anderson Humane makes no guarantees regarding medical or behavioral status of this animal, and the current owner is solely responsible for disclosing any challenges or concerns. King is a BIG baby. He loves all the attention and loves to be around people. He is very needy for love and loves to follow you everywhere. He is very smart and knows all the basic commands and even knows how to search if given a smell. He grew around children and a big family. He is very jumpy and does not realize how big he is. He does well with kids. He does not do well with other dogs. He became reactive when he was attacked by another dog. It has been an issue with my other dog and my living situation. He needs someone who can help him overcome those obstacles. He does well home alone and is house trained. He did not know what the cage was until he became reactive with dogs and couldn't be around my other dog. He does well in the crate as well. The reactivity is not bad, he just does not like when dogs approach his way. He does like little dogs and grew up with another German Shepard and a Yorkie. He still continues to live with them. Overall is a good house dog and cuddle buddy. I just want to find a good home for him.
