Story
Animal Profile: Hedwig is a 6 month old (DOB 12/16/23) Dutch Shepherd Malinois mix (DNA tested) female who was brought to Fresno Humane along with her littermates, who have been adopted. She was left behind and placed on bite quarantine for accidentally biting a volunteer who was playing with her with a waterhose (which is the most exciting thing ever to Hedwig). She is not aggressive but she is a typical high drive puppy and will need a breed savvy adopter to be her best self. We will share more about her as we get to know her in foster care.  Foster Update: Stay tuned for details. Adoption Info: Adoption fee is $550 which includes neuter, core vaccinations per AVMA standards, and microchip with lifetime registration. Your adoption fee may be tax deductible as Dog Gone Seattle is a 501c3 organization. Apply online: www.doggoneseattle.org/adoption-application Animal History: Hedwig was surrendered to Fresno Humane along with her littermates on 5/16/2024 and transferred to Dog Gone Seattle via Wiggle Butts, arriving to foster care on June 30, 2024. She will be available for adoption in the greater Seattle area once evaluated in foster care.August 19, 2024, 12:18 am

Story
FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED: Say hello to Juno! This beautiful boy is ready to find his forever home. He is a 3-year-old, 55 lb Shepherd mix. Juno will need an active family, he would make a great hiking partner. He walks well on leash and will need a family that can continue working on obedience with him. Juno can be selective about other dogs and would probably do best as the only dog in the home. He is not tested with cats. He is not a city dog and will need a home outside the city with a fenced yard to run and play. No apartments. Juno is neutered, UTD on shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $400.

Story
She was found in the middle of nowhere, in the bones, and with too much fear, she tried to bite us until she could understand that we were not going to hurt her, we just wanted to help her, and she got on her belly, letting me know that she trusted me. She is a really sweet, intelligent, loving dog, she has too much love to give, and she needs to receive even more. She is a very loyal dog, and tends to dance with her front paws when she gets excited. She gets excited when she goes for a walk, she likes to see new places and sometimes she is a little shy at first with strangers but she understands quickly when people don't want to hurt her. On the contrary when she knows that people are a threat to her or to you, she is very protective. She gets along well with very few male dogs, she is dominant and does not usually play with other dogs, but she gets along very well with adults and children, she would be ideal for a family with small children, she knows how to measure her strength, and she is not at all rude with babies. The $550.00 adoption fee covers the following: Transport to Oregon or Washington. Spay/Neuter. All vaccines up to date. Deworming (puppies 2 sets). Flea medication up to date. Tick control up to date. Microchip. Microchip registration to new owner paid for. Collar. Temporary leash.

Story
My name is Lil Man aka Deuce. Deuce for two since I'm getting a second chance at life after being in the shelter. My foster Dad says I'm living life to the fullest and trying really hard at forgetting my first life. I'm still shy around some people but my foster has been teaching me to be less fearful of strangers. I would love you to help me with slow introductions when I meet new people. People always say how beautiful my brindle coat is. I'm very smart and will sit and speak for my treats, I am learning to play ball and will jump in the air to get it! I'm still working on the bring it back all the time, every time. But I'm working on it! I get along well with other dogs and I'm a great watch dog. I like to make sure my people are safe and taken care of. I love being outside in the sun and playing with my dog foster siblings or other dogs. I love the yard and think being outside is swell. When I come inside I'm a very good boy and don't get on the couch or jump on people. I do like to give little licks and kisses to the people I feel safe with. I have a zest for life and like to go for walks and runs and to play in the river. I'm potty trained and stay out during the day in the sunshine. I always try to ensure the squirrels know I'm the bosss. At night I like to sleep inside with my pals. Whoever adopts me will have to be a little patient and continue working with me on my shyness at times. New things are scary and I need you to show me it's going to be ok. My perfect home would have a nice, fenced yard, and maybe a doggy door so I can go in and out on my own. I'll probably do better with another dog in the household, I really like friends. I would love someone to play fetch with me or take me to the river and swim. I don't mind baths at all either, but I sure don't like cats! I like to keep my food just for me and don't really like to share. I know basic commands and will sit for a treat, or two. I would love to meet you and your resident dog and make some new friends!

Story
Meet Zeus⚡ * Toward People: Can be a little shy at first. However, once he warms up to people and the environment, he becomes kind and gentle even if someone lifts or touches him unexpectedly. Appreciates human warmth and prefers to lie against or be touched by people. * Toward Dogs: Is getting along well with other doggy friends at Adogs Center! Sometimes acts a little aggressively leading to possible fights when he gets to roused up during play with other dogs. Needs to be carefully watched when he plays with other dogs. * Separation Anxiety: It is unknown due to Zeus living at the Center with other dogs. * Potty Training: Uses outdoor potty at the Center. * Hygiene: Enjoys being brushed but is scared of having his nails trimmed. There should be frequent walks to allow the toenail to be trimmed naturally. * Walks: Slightly scared of a leash and needs to take time in wearing a leash. However, once outside, he does not pull it and walks well in whatever direction a walker pleases. Fears the sounds of cars and motorcycle by the street. * Car sick: Has no carsickness. Has no trouble getting up and down the car! 💌Special Note💌 * Is very gentle and will not bite his caretaker in any situation. * As he occasionally gets into confrontations with other dogs, it would be best if he were the only dog. * Because all the dogs poop in the same area at the Center, Zeus has a habit scatophagy. Any excrement should be cleaned right away. (Scatophagy can be remedied quickly with a training at home.) * Missing his left ear due to a birth defect, but Zeus has no problem with hearing!

Juniper is a happy, friendly, adorable girl.  She is affectionate and playful!!  She loves to play ball!!  Juniper loves to hang out with you or play in the yard.  She is affectionate and loves to give kisses once she knows you.  Some people scare her, but once she knows you she is darling and playful.  She is so eager to please.  Juniper will need a home with a fenced yard.  Juniper found herself as a young pup in a shelter in California.  She was adopted and then found herself back at the shelter after she was hit by a car.  She then made her way to us as a 'greyhound mix'.  She is beyond darling and is so deserving of a true forever home.  She has a slight head tilt (adorable) and has some hip dysplasia which may need surgery (but that is not a given) as she ages, but now she is absolutely happy and playful.  We did a DNA test on Juniper and we were amazed to see that her mix is 45% German Shepherd, 42% American Staffordshire Terrier, 11% American Pit Bull Terrier and 2% Australian Cattle Dog.  We would never have guessed that she had any Terrier in her - she is a gentle, sweet soul and has a coat more like a Labrador or short coated Golden Retriever.  And while her 'greyhound' roots are not to be found, she is an adorable member of our GPI family and we can't wait to find this darling girl her forever home.  Juniper has made great progress in addressing the reactivity issues and she is expected to continue to make great strides with consistent training.  Juniper is a past Dog of the Month: https://www.greyhoundpetsinc.org/juniper-march-dog-of-the-month-copy/ Sponsored by Kristy Spray Sponsored by Kathleen Meyers, in memory of Roxy. Story
If you're ready to meet your very best friend and adventure buddy, your wait is over! Marina is a super friendly, spunky, and wonderful 1-year-old Husky mix and she's ready to share life with you. Marina enjoys playing with toys, playing tag with other dogs, going for hikes and walks, and snuggling up to her humans when it's time to nap. She will even use your arm as a pillow! Marina is looking for a family that can keep up with her pep and be able to provide her with plenty of daily exercise, mental enrichment, and socialization. Marina does awesome with other dogs but can get overly excited and have a hard time settling down. And resident dogs should be able to match her playstyle and energy. Marina will likely do best in a home without cats. Marina can be jumpy and rowdy when she's playing or overly excited and is looking for a home with just older, dog-experienced kids, closer to their teen years. Due to her energy levels, Marina is not a fit for an apartment or condo. If you're ready to welcome home this special girl, send in an adoption application today! #activelifestyle #playful
