Field Spaniel fun facts

Fun Facts:

The English Cocker Spaniel contributed to creating this breed, and then saved it from extinction after World War II, crossing with the Springer Spaniel to revive the Field Spaniel.

The Field Spaniel was developed in order to create an all-black spaniel for show.

19th century breeders altered the spaniel's shape to be so long and low to the ground that it introduced many health problems which helped lead to its near-extinction. This was corrected when the breed was revitalized in the middle of the 20th century.
