Hello there, I'm Reese! I'm a 3 year old Lab mix with a heart full of love. 've been told I'm quite the smarty-pants, always eager to learn new tricks, so I will be easy to train! I have been in a shelter setting for a long time, but thankfully someone has offered to foster me and I am doing great because of it. I seem to do good with everyone but I can be a little selective with other dogs, so the shelter reccomends a proper introduction. What I really long for is a family of my own. A place where my smart, sweet, playful nature can truly shine. Adopt me, and together, we can fill our days with joy, laughter, and endless games of fetch.

Some pets are in foster homes or may already have an appointment scheduled, so the appointment is important to make sure I will be available to meet you when you come.
Polk County Humane Society is located in Bolivar, Missouri, but also makes transports to the Denver, CO, Des Moines, IA and Minneapolis, MN areas twice a month. For potential adopters in those areas, we can do a virtual visit using FaceTime or another app. Just request an appointment using the same link, but note that you want the visit to be virtual and we will call you at the time of the visit once it is confirmed. For long distance transports, there is an additional $100 fee to cover the cost of the transport ($65) and a health certificate from a veteinarian ($35). Going that last mile home for our sweet pets!
