Introducing Kenny, our current longest-term resident. Kenny has been a member of the FDHS crew since he arrived as a stray back in August of 2023. This mixed breed pup has been looked over time and time again and our hearts break for this sweet guy! He's a very special pup that's going to need a very special home.Kenny is a people-oriented pup, and he’s proven to be a wonderful companion! He's always ready to shower his human friends with plenty of slobbery kisses and will do just about anything for a snack. We do suggest a home with older kids as he can get a little mouthy when he plays. This youthful and energetic fellow is the perfect fit for an active owner or family. Whether it’s taking long walks or enjoying playful romps in a fenced yard, Kenny is up for any adventure. He’s a strong walker, and using a harness can make your outings even more enjoyable. He has a lot of energy, so lots of exercise is a must! Kenny is not a good candidate for using a tie-out, as he gets very worked up. During the day he keeps a very clean kennel and with a little patience we are confident he's going to master house manners. We are requiring that Kenny goes to a home as the only animal due to his reactivity. Please keep in mind that because Kenny has spent so much of his young life in a shelter environment, he is going to need a significant amount of time to decompress and catch into the routine of being a "normal" dog. But we promise he is going to be so worth it! If you’re ready to provide love, exercise, and an abundance of kisses, Kenny is eager to become your devoted partner.**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, and UTD on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs approximately 50 pounds**

Hello world! The name is Duke and I'm looking for love!I was found as a stray near the shelter back March wearing a harness and leash. The staff was certain I'd be reclaimed because I had obviously been someone's companion...but no one ever came. I'm not sure why my people never came back for me or bothered calling to look for me. I really am a good boy with a big heart.In the last few months I've been at FDHS I've made great friends with the staff members. They take care of my daily needs and try to give me all the extra attention they can. Although I really like my care-takers, it's not the same as having a home of my own.I'm not a picky fellow! Just give me some chin scratches and a place to take a nap and I'm good. I'm a pretty low-key dog and I don't require a ton of attention or maintenance like a puppy. I'm excellent in my kennel and do great in the fenced yard. I love to wander around and smell all the good smells, I really think I'd enjoy a home where I get to spend time exploring on leash outdoors.As for other dogs, I don't seem to mind the calmer females. The rowdy boys do tend to get me a little worked up, but I could potentially live with most other dogs with proper introductions and a slow approach. I'm friendly with all people and no behavioral issues have been noted. I have yet to be tested with cats.I really am a super good boy and I'm so excited to meet my fur-ever person!**Neutered, microchipped, heartworm negative, up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 50 lbs**

This pretty girl is Maggie!Maggie came to us as a stray and was never reclaimed by her family. She was a little scared and unsure at first but has since come out of her shell and is a very sweet girl! She loves to go for walks and does very well on a leash. She loves attention especially butt scratches, Maggie is a big fan of butt scratches! She loves to give kisses when she’s getting pets! If you find a treat she likes, she can be a tad picky, she will sit and shake! She is a pretty smart cookie! Maggie keeps a clean kennel and with her smarts, potty training should come fairly easy for her! We do not yet know how she is with other dogs or cats. Any introductions should be a slow one! If you’re looking for a girl who will give you lots of love, look no further! Maggie is ready for her furever home!**Spayed, microchipped, heartworm negative and up-to-date on vaccines & monthly prevention. Weighs about 50 lbs**
