Meet Pongo, a delightful foxhound mix! He's a true 'Just Add Water' kind of dog – ready to fit right into your life with minimal fuss. This friendly fellow has the classic hound charm: a gentle spirit, a curious nose, and a soulful gaze. He enjoys a good leisurely stroll, a paced jog, and hikes of any variety. He’s an avid sunbather and also excels at digging dirt dens. Pongo’s got a sweet disposition and a knack for making friends, both human and canine but he LOVES cats, so much so that he really shouldn’t be in a home around them. (Unless your cats love to be chased approximately 24 hours a day.) Pongo’s so ready to find his forever person(s)- Just add love, and watch this guy bloom! Pongo is a 3-year-old mixed breed rescued from a high-intake shelter. This dog's adoption fee is $350 and includes up-to-date vaccinations, microchip, 4DX testing, and neuter. Pongo is also tested with other dogs, children, and potty and kennel trained. He would do best in a home with no felines. We would love for you to meet this dog and see if he might be a good fit for your home. The first step to adoption is completing an adoption application on our website at www.bounceanimalrescue.org. Pending approval, your application is valid for 1 year, and you will be eligible to request a hold on an individual animal for the Saturday adoption event. The hold does not require that you take the animal home, but ensures you get to meet and make an adoption decision prior to other applicants. Also pending approval, you will be able to acquire foster home contact information, so you inquire on personalities of specific animals. We do offer midweek private adoption appointments for approved applicants pending staff, foster home, and vetting schedules. Because we are 100% foster-based, private adoption appointments are only offered for individual animals. (If interested in viewing multiple animals at one time, we encourage you to attend our adoption events!) Please note, we do not have the ability to process adoption applications at our adoption events, so please plan accordingly. If an application is submitted past 5pm on Monday-Thursday, it will begin review the following day. If submitted on Friday-Sunday, it will begin review on Monday. It takes approximately 1-2 business days for an application to be processed. Our adoption events take place every Saturday from 10am-Noon at Pet Supplies Plus (Front Range Village, 2912 Council Tree Ave #100, Fort Collins, 80525). *** If you are interested in Kira, please fill out our adoption application at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/ *** Meet Kira, an 8 month old, ADORABLE Basset Hound / Beagle mix who is as charming as she is adorable! Weighing in at 34 lbs, this short lady is the epitome of the Basset breed, with her signature stumpy legs, ridiculously long ears, and a face that could melt even the coldest of hearts! Kira has the sweetest, most gentle spirit. She and her littermate were rescued as part of a litter of puppies found abandoned on a rural property in Arkansas. Now, after months of love and care, Kira is ready to find her forever home in Colorado! Kira is a lovable, friendly girl who adores people and gets along well with other dogs. Even though she is a youngster at 8 months old, her foster says that Kira has a calm and affectionate nature—perfect for someone looking for a loving, loyal companion. Kira has been around kids aged 7 & 9 years old and did great with them (with supervision, as always) and would thrive in a home where she can continue to grow and experience all the joys of being part of a family. We are unsure if Kira has had any formal training. A (virtual or in-person) positive reinforcement group training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young dog whose self-esteem will fly high while she masters her skills. Training is so important in the future behaviors of every dog. It's for this reason that we're unwilling to adopt to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area. Our training requirement is to help every adoption be successful. Kira has been fully vetted, is up to date on her vaccines, and spayed. Farfel's Rescue is a fully foster based rescue, and offers a one week trial with every adoption. We feel that this is much more beneficial to not only the dog, but the adopter too. We believe that only getting 20-30 minutes with a dog before deciding on a lifetime commitment is not a fair amount of time to the adopter, or the dog. Therefore we give adopters one week with the dog to assure it is the right fit, and offer a full refund of their adoption fee should it not workout within the week trial. Farfel's Rescue has been doing adoptions this way since 2005 and is thrilled to adopt out ~400 dogs each year.
