Story
AIDEN's owner brought him home as a puppy and kept him on a chain his whole life. We were able to bring him into our group a few months ago. Since then he has blossomed! He cannot believe he can run and play to his heart's content. He was a little afraid of toys at first, but now he LOVES to play fetch. He is kennel trained and is very happy in his big, 54" kennel with his own window to look out of. We are introducing him to other dogs now and he is learning how to play and be a dog. Although Aiden's major breed is a Plott Hound (a large dog), Aiden is 45 pounds and full grown. He has several other hound breeds in him as well. Story
Meet June! Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s a happy-go-lucky 3½-year-old American foxhound/German shepherd mix with a beautiful split face and even more beautiful smile. Every day is her best day ever, and she loves to check in with her humans to make sure theyâ&#194&#128&#194&#153re having just as much fun as she is. Weighing in at 60 pounds (although she doesnâ&#194&#128&#194&#153t look it) sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s sweet as can be and full of life and love. June has a medium energy level, which means she loves all things playâ&#194&#128&#194&#148tug, fetch, wrestling, zooming around the backyard, swimming, sniffing gamesâ&#194&#128&#194&#148as well as napping in the sun and spending quiet evenings under the covers. She would do best being the only animal in the household so she can get all the attention from her family! June will charm you with her contagious smile and quirky â&#194&#128&#194&#156yoga posesâ&#194&#128&#194&#157 whenever sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s excited or wants pets. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s incredibly expressive, super intelligent, and communicates her wants and needs well. She learns new commands quickly and loves to please, which has made training a breeze. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s happiest when on walks, meeting new people, and being loved on in any capacity, whether it's belly rubs, kisses, or praise. Her current owner believes she likely came from an abusive or isolated household, which means she needs someone positive, gentle, patient, and encouraging to teach her how to navigate the world with confidence. She needs time to approach new situations, but once comfortable, sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll quickly make the best of it. She looks to her humans to make sure sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s safe and responds best to positive encouragement and rewards for good behavior. She loves making others happy, whether thatâ&#194&#128&#194&#153s successfully completing a new trick or overcoming a trigger. Sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll need someone to guide her through encounters with busy streets and loud motors (i.e. motorcycles and diesel trucks), as well as reactive dogs while on a leash. She is free to roam the house while her human is at work, is potty trained, and is not destructive when left alone for long periods. She is not crate-trained and allowed to snooze on the couch or bed in her current householdâ&#194&#128&#194&#148a luxury sheâ&#194&#128&#194&#153ll likely want to carry over to her new home. She loves every human she meets, has experience with children 7+, and her current owner is very confident she could be taught to be gentler with younger children. She is not food-aggressive and shows no signs of resource-guarding around humans, yet is just very eager and excited to play, which might be too much for smaller children. The perfect home for June would be a low-traffic/relatively quiet environment with a backyard to roam and sunbathe. June is so deserving of the perfect furever home. Could it be with you? Story
COURTESY POST: Seeking a Loving Forever Home for Sweet Rosemary! Meet Rosemary, a gentle and affectionate 3-year-old mix-breed beauty (with a strong lean towards guardian dog breeds!) who's ready to find her happily ever after. Rosemary weighs about 63 pounds. This sweet girl was found wandering the streets of Lancaster, TX, clearly having recently been a mama. Now, she's looking for a warm and loving family to call her own. Rosemary's Wonderful Qualities: Sweet & Cuddly: Rosemary is a true sweetheart! She absolutely adores cuddles and believes she's a 60lb lap dog. Prepare for endless snuggles and unwavering devotion! House Trained & Polite: This smart girl is fully house-trained and has had no accidents. When you grab her collar or leash, she knows it's time for a walk and heads straight for the door! Dog-Friendly: Rosemary gets along wonderfully with other dogs, once she's had time to acclimate. She loves to play and romp with her furry friends. Bird-Safe (So Far!): She's shown no interest in pet birds, making her a potentially great addition to homes with feathered companions. Food Motivated: Rosemary is eager to please and responds well to positive reinforcement training. Her love for treats makes training a breeze! Ready for Adventure: Rosemary loves to play with other dogs, and is ready for someone to teach her how to play with toys, and maybe even fetch! Loving and Loyal: She is ready to give her whole heart to her new family. Important Information: Rosemary is currently undergoing heartworm treatment. Her new family will need to continue this treatment and ensure she receives proper veterinary care. She will need to be spayed once her heartworm treatment is completed and her vet gives the go ahead. She's approximately 60 lbs. Rosemary Needs: A loving and patient family who will provide her with a safe and comfortable home. Continued heartworm treatment and future spaying. Someone to teach her how to play with toys and fetch. Plenty of cuddles and affection! If you're looking for a loyal, loving, and gentle companion, Rosemary is the perfect dog for you! Give this deserving girl the forever home she's been waiting for. Don't miss out on the chance to add this wonderful dog to your family! We are a RESCUE GROUP, not a shelter, and all of our animals are in foster homes. To start the adoption process, email us at adoptions@earstexas.org requesting an application. Submitting an application does not commit you in any way, but helps us make the best match between people and our available dogs. Your current or past dogs must be inside dogs who have been spayed/neutered and are on heartworm prevention. All of the dogs in our program are inside dogs and are completely vetted including all vaccinations, spayed/neutered, free of internal parasites, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention before adoption. Our adoption process includes an application, check of vet records or personal references, interview, neutral site meet & greet with the dog and your family, and a home visit.
