Animal Care & Control is looking for a rescue group to assist in placing Belle in a foster home, prior to adoption, in an effort to best set her up for success. The shelter is a tough place for dogs right now because it is full and there are a limited number of volunteers to get them out each day. Story
We love Wilbur. Our time together was meant to be and I was able to help him through his food allergies, figure out he needs, and get him his BOAS surgery and rhinoplasty at the time of his neuter. His reflux and regurgitations are no longer an issue, and we figured out what type of protein is best for him. He now has a much easier time being his energetic highly athletic self as well which he loves more than anything. Unfortunately, we have reached a crossroads where his pattern of behavior in our home has become less than manageable. Although, he has proven time and time again that he thrives in a different environment, without question. He is a good boy who just needs a different type of structure than we are able to give him. He needs an outdoor space to run, and loves to have dog siblings, but must be younger than other dogs in the household. Happy to elaborate and connect with anyone who has serious interest and a plus if you are familiar with Frenchie behavior.

Story
Everyone loves a Boston Terrier and so do we!  This girl is not one of those well bred BT's but one of those that needs the most help!  Our girl is called Jettie and She is a 22 pound,  9 year old mostly black female Boston Terrier girl that is healthy and happy and looking for a home.  Feisty and confident like most Bostons, this girl has alot of spunk, and alternatively really enjoys napping by your feet. Her story is that her owner died and the owner’s son took her to live with him. It was not he happy time and situation for Jettie.  This innocent and lost little girl was put at that time, and only 17 pounds, in the back yard with his Pit Bulls.  HORRORS!!!!!   OF COURSE things went wrong and based on the fact that animal control was called, she was surrendered with so many wounds on her body, neck and tail. Despite the nightmare, she is still loving and trusting and just wanting to BELONG.  This girl has been in foster care for the past month and the wounds are healed on the outside but emotionally she is constantly looking over her shoulder to see if she needs to protect herself. Can you help Jettie?  She is not a shrinking violet and out of survival instinct, a girl who will be appreciative for whatever is done for her.  Since she has always been 'defending' herself, we are asking for an ONLY DOG HOME for her.   We don't want her to always be looking over her shoulder at another dog coming to hurt her.  I think she learned to growl and act like an alpha to thwart the constant aggression she was living with. Because of that, I feel that she has earned the right to belong to a living family who has no other dogs…She respects the cat and dogs in the foster home because they show her no malice, but on  occasion she will growl and posture if she feels threatened. If you can handle that tension for while till it subsides then fine....but it is there.  She is a loving dog who longs for walks, cuddles and the love of a human(s) in a safe and loving environment!  Please email Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 2:03 pm

Story
Please contact Anna Colllins (anna.collins@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.Pretty brindle girl seeking fresh start and love! BLUE NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!! Name: Blue       Best Guess for Breed:  Boston terrier mix   Best Guess for Age: 7 months as of July 2024         SEX:  Female   Approximate Weight: 27 lbs as of 7/26/24; she is still growing!   Gets Along With:   Blue is good with other dogs and with cats! She hasn't been seen with kids but can be tested.    Currently Living at:  Georgia shelter foster home   All about Blue: This sweet girl landed in the shelter through no fault of her own, and is now in a foster home in Georgia. She's shown how good she is in a home-- --is good in the crate! --doesn't have accidents in the home! --knows basic obedience! --is good with other dogs - likes and plays well with her fosters' dogs - and is good with cats! --LOVES people and is a great cuddle buddy!   Her foster reports that Blue is full of that joyful puppy energy and learns very fast. She loves to play but has an off switch and knows how to chill. Her foster has been able to redirect her when she gets jumpy - she is a very good girl.    Blue is barely out of puppyhood and hasn't seen nearly enough of the world yet. She is unlikely to find her own family in her area; there are too many dogs and not enough homes. Her hope is finding a forever family in the DC area. She's eager to have her own humans for long sniffy walks, romps in the park, and all the adventures they can dream up. She'll be good in a home with another dog or as a solo dog - what she wants most of all is to be safe and loved and under her own roof. In exchange, she promises to always love you, to make you laugh - and to be your loyal companion for all her days.    What do you say? Is Blue the one you see by your side?   Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.    TO ADOPT:      The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.
