Story
I adopted Frank in June from SL County animal services. Without knowing much about his past I adopted him. He is a sweet, silly, playful dog...however, he has STRONG resource guarding over me. If my fiance walks towards me, Frank will growl and lunge. He has attempted to bite him, but has not yet. I have sent him to a weeklong training that didn't do anything for this behavior. I have tried everything I can think of with him. He really is a good boy and I know he's doing what he thinks is right but it isn't fair to my fiance or Frank to keep him. He is great on planes, great in the car, he loves kids, and plays with our cat. He goes to daycare and has had some issues there with getting too rough. He generally seems to like females more than men so I feel a home with only females or if someone has experience on how to handle the resource guarding over a human, he may be fine in that environment.

Story
Strolls through the city, family dog life, gorgeous snapshots on your #dogstagram, snuggles on the couch and silly little zoomies in the backyard- these are the things that Oreo was made for! We think Oreo is 100% Boston Terrier, but he is a rescue, so this cannot be guaranteed! Oreo is around three years old, and certifiably small. He weighs in around 20 pounds, perfectly lap sized. See Oreo in action here: https://youtu.be/QrQkUOxOMmU?feature=shared Oreo is amazing with his humans, he’s spent time with kids as young as two and loves the extra attention they bring. Oreo has been fostered in a home with three kids, and he does so well as a family dog! The cutest thing about Oreo is his affection! He loves to get close to your face and give a couple kisses. He’s great about checking in with his humans, even during playtime he’ll come up to give you a little affection before waddling off to continue playing. In his downtime, he likes to snuggle and get little head massages from his foster family. He can often be found contorting himself into any shape needed in order to touch you while he sleeps. He’s such a lovebug. Cute little Oreo adores toys and chews, he was made to be spoiled and he knows that! He enjoys lounging in his dog bed, and frequently takes his treats and toys there to thoroughly enjoy them. Oreo is a precious boy, with a huge heart for his humans. We think he would enjoy life as an only pet, soaking up all of your love and attention. Oreo is so small and quiet that we believe he could do well in a house or an apartment! We are willing to test Oreo with anything you need us to in order to ensure he is the perfect match for you! We can make most anything happen! Just let us know. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescue’s hard costs alone for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,120. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical care—such as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic care—can lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that Three Little Pitties Rescue is not government funded. It doesn’t stop there! Our adopters also receive these SPECIAL PERKS: ● Extensive behavioral testing and information from trainers on our staff to ensure the perfect fit for your family ● Discounts on Embark DNA test kit- $30 off of Breed ID test & $50 off of Breed ID plus Health test ● 30 day trial of pet insurance with Trupanion ● A free private online dog training session with GoodPup, plus low pricing for future sessions ● 70% off of your first order of Fetch, a delicious PNW based fresh dog meatballs subscription ● Coupons for a fun visit to Petco ● 20% off of Dr. Cuddles pet first aid and hygiene solutions ● Discounted heartworm, flea prevention, and monthly dewormer ● Access to our exclusive FB Adopters page, where you can network for play dates, resources, and connect with other adopters that share their passion for their adopted pup! Did you know that the Greater Houston area faces some of the highest stray and overpopulation rates in the nation? We are a non profit charity. Our goal is simple— to reduce the homeless pet population through community outreach, free spay and neuter services, and by rescuing animals from the streets or overcrowded shelters where euthanasia due to lack of space is often the only option. The dog you've found online is not only lucky to be in our program, but also incredibly fortunate to have caught your eye. Thank you for considering adoption and for joining us in our mission!
