Story
This is Daisy! She is currently at the shelter with her best friend and sister, Grace. Daisy is very loving and will jump on your lap to get all the hugs and kisses. She is playful and loves to run outside. Daisy and Grace are currently at our shelter. It would be wonderful to find a home for both of them if possible. All Pet Central animals are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, microchipped (registration included), and current on parasite prevention. Dogs over six-months of age are heartworm tested. When adopting, we will ensure that you receive copies of veterinary and microchip records. If you are interested in this pet, please fill out the brief Adopter Survey by hitting "Apply for Adoption" on the profile. After we review your completed survey we will contact you by phone or email within three business days. We're primarily a volunteer organization, so we appreciate your patience. Please note- Out of respect for our volunteers and staff, we are closed on Sundays and Mondays and will not be processing any applications on that day. Do get back to us right away when we call or email regarding an application so that we can quickly connect using the process below: Select a pet and submit an online adoption survey. A PCH adoption counselor will contact potential adopters within three business days (PCH cannot guarantee any pet's availability, but we make every effort to accommodate adopters with a reply and possible alternative suggestions). Counselor and client will then have a conversation to answer questions, discuss any medical needs for the pet and determine the suitability of a match (if necessary, we may opt to put adopters in touch with foster parents). After a match is made, clients will be asked to sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee online through our secure payment system *Please see our modified no-risk return policy. (below) The PCH adoption counselor will then set up a specific appointment time and location. Adopters should bring a pet carrier and leash to pick up. Adult pets will be wearing a collar. It is important that clients arrive on time, neither early nor late. If your adoption is scheduled at Pet Central Helps!: Upon arrival inside the Crossroads Center complex (360 Wylie Drive), look for the black Pet Central Helps! semi-trailer, which is right outside of our facility (Suite 720). Park in the parking lot and enter the facility. A PCH representative will greet you and show you to the adoption room. Your new pet will be handed to you. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. If your adoption is scheduled at PetSmart: Park in the PetSmart Parking lot and enter the store. We will be set up just inside the store entrance. Let us know you are here to pick up your pet! A PCH representative will confirm your information and hand you your pet. We will take a "Happy Adoption Day photo with your pet and family. PCH supports a 21-day no-fault return policy in which adopters are given the opportunity to find a better match. If we are not able to provide advice/tools to keep a pet in the home we offer these options: Exchange for a pet that may be a better match** Receive a refund minus a $40 processing fee** With this approach, we can often turn mismatches into opportunities! Thank you, Pet Central Helps!

Story
Meet Howie, the 47-pound bundle of joy with a heart as big as his personality! This charming 4-year-old Patterdale Terrier mix is on a mission to steal your heart and fill your days with endless love and laughter. Howie is the epitome of a canine companion, craving nothing more than to be by your side, soaking up every moment of your company. He can't wait to spend time with his person, whether it's a game of fetch in the backyard (his all-time favorite!) or cuddling up for a movie. Howie has lots of energy—but when the sun sets, he transforms into the ultimate cuddle buddy, content to snuggle up on the couch and bask in the warmth of your affection. Housetrained and well-mannered, Howie is a dream companion in the home. He prefers to sleep on his cozy dog bed in the bedroom, and while he may not be a fan of long periods in a crate, his good behavior makes it unnecessary to use one. When it comes to socializing, Howie is needs a slow and proper introduction. He can be reactive to seeing other dogs, but he typically ends up getting along with them. He was around cats as a young pup, but hasn't been exposed to them in recent years, so we don't know how he would do with feline friends. Howie will thrive in a quiet, adult-only home where he can feel safe and secure. New things can be scary to him, so he'll need someone patient who can teach him that the world isn't so frightening. He loves booty scratches and will be happiest with someone who can provide lots of love and reassurance. A house with a fenced yard is essential for Howie, as he loves to stretch his legs and play freely. He requires a house because he did not do well in an apartment setting due to too many people, dogs, and sounds.  If you're ready to welcome a furry friend who will fill your life with boundless affection, endless playtime, and unforgettable memories, then Howie is the perfect match for you. Apply to meet this lovable pup and discover the joy of having a loyal companion who will always have your back, wagging tail and all! His minimum adoption fee is $195, plus a $15 rabies transfer fee for McLean County residents. He has been neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
