Story
Is April the sweetest girl you've ever seen? Well, yes, she could have told you that. The sweet and shy April is something of a gentle giant. Her smile in this picture portrays her personality perfectly. A gorgeous German Shepard girl who would love to get to know you. She needs a little love, but it's easy to do. With her soft eyes she will melt away your worries, and her friendship will be an amazing reward. April was not treated well in a former life so she needs a little time to trust you, but she will trust you if you treat her right and she will love you forever.

Story
My name is Tucker. I am a big, lovable, and goofy puppy. I love nothing more than to get love and cuddles from my human. I also love to play outside. I am crate trained and almost completely potty trained.I would do well in a home with another dog my size. Because I am a big puppy, I wouldn’t be a good fit in a household with small children. Although I love my foster home, I can’t wait to find my furever home. I am neutered, up to date on vaccines and heartworm prevention. If you would like to meet this precious guy and make him part of your family, please complete an application at https://forrescue.net/dog-application/ Tucker is located in North Alabama with transport available to your area. Friends of Rescue requires a virtual home visit and vet reference prior to all adoptions. All Friends of Rescue animals are indoor family members. Please let us know if you’d like more information on our foster to adopt program.

Story
This is MACON! The handsomest 2 year old male who is a very striking breed of dog and dog. Seriously, we're not sure his breed but we know he'll be a larger pup and he's wonderful. Macon was found running down the middle of the highway in Macon County, was found by some kind souls who took him in. Macon loves other dogs and kids, but he has a bit too much energy for the good Samaritans that found him. He foster sister is a 13 year old Chi that Macon is very respectful to, but the Chi is a bit cantankerous and doesn't like to share. Macon knows his manners, caught on to the basics very quickly, he knows to sit, stay and other basic commands. He absolutely LOVES toys. His fosters say he could chase a tennis ball or frisbee forever (fetch level pro) but he does very well when let inside to cuddle on the couch too. Story
Meet Layla, a smart and lively girl who is house and crate trained. She understands basic commands such as "sit" and takes treats gently. Layla loves running and playing. While she thrives with larger dogs that can engage in rough play, she gets along well with smaller dogs too. Initially, Layla can be a bit reserved when meeting new people and requires some time to warm up to them. However, once she forms a bond, she becomes like Velcro, sticking close to her favorite person of the day. During walks, she may display uncertainty around people passing by, but she has shown significant improvement by managing to walk by with just a few curious glances. Layla's intelligence is impressive, and she excels at observing and solving obstacles, learning as she goes. She interacts well with adults and older children, although she may be a little too playful for smaller children due to her size If interested in adopting one of our available pets, please fill out an application at https://www.cognitoforms.com/DixieGirl1/PetAdoptionApplicationForm2 Most of our are pets are fostered in Southern foster homes and are posted for adoption once they are completely vetted and ready to travel. Delta is a sweet and loving 3 year old shepherd mix. She enjoys running and romping in the yard as well as loving on her human. She is up for lounging on the sofa or going on an adventure. She needs an active family that can keep her busy. She is shy at first but once she warms up to you she wants to be in your lap. She is food motivated and a fast and eager learner. She is good with children over 10. She can be dog selective, so not every dog is her friend and she is not a fan of cats. She is housebroken and crate trained and walks on leash. She is a happy energetic girl looking for her furever family. She has been with us for a year and was surrendered by her owner because they were moving and didn't want to take her. Story
We are very heartbroken to need to find our dog a new home. He did not receive training (outside of potty training) his first 7 months and when we adopted him he was in dominance. After setting some boundaries and working with him over the last 7 months he has come a long way but still switches into dominance and also has some anxiety/attachment tendencies that add to his behaviors. We do not feel we are fit to fully train him and have young children and other animals that are around him all the time. It would be safest for everyone if he were in a home where someone is more experienced in training, only older children were present on a regular basis, and less submissive animals were accessible to him. He does well with other animals if they can hold their own including our cat. He would also do well with space to run or being kept active. He has absolutely no issues with his potty training and also sleeping through the night. He is so sweet, loving, fun and obviously so cute.
