My daughter informed my wife and me about a failing local breeder who was having trouble rehoming all her German Shepherds. My wife and I went down there and found Grimm, a 5 year old (almost 6) sable coat German Shepherd. He was in pretty bad shape, so we took him and got him proper medical care, nutrition and hydration. We have had him about a month now and his physical condition has completely turned around. He has more energy and is rapidly putting on weight. Grimm has some issues though; he is easily startled and when he is, he runs. He also has separation anxiety. We have no other pets and no children living at home. That being said, he is a very loving and gentle animal with a great disposition. He is great with kids (our two grandchildren are little and he is great with them) and non-aggressive dogs. We are not sure how he is with cats. A new home that has other non-aggressive dogs and/or children to keep him occupied would be a better fit for him.
