Story
Meet Ravi! Ravi is an 9 year old German Shepherd blend. He is a big, lean boy and weighs around 75 pounds. Ravi has a very gentle and sweet personality. He loves hanging out on the couch, and prefers to sleep on a dog bed next to his human's bed. Ravi is house trained and dog door trained. He loves walks and he does get excited when he meets other dogs. He loves attention from humans and likes to know where everyone in the house is hanging out. Ravi has previously lived with another dog and a cat (as long as the cat doesn't run!). However, he doesn't like to share his food so he'll do best as your only canine companion (but he can always meet new dog friends as long as there's no food or treats involved!). He is an excellent passenger in the car and seems to really enjoy car rides. Ravi loves toys and balls and has chosen a big stuffed fish as his favorite and carries it around everywhere. He listens and follows directions well. He knows sit, stay, come, wait, and will give you his paw for shake. Ravi is gentle taking treats. Ravi is a "safety first" kind of boy so he has learned to get in and out of the pool! Ravi is neutered, licensed, current on vaccinations and microchipped. He is being spoiled by one of our amazing foster homes, and will be at the adoption center on Saturdays from 10am-4pm. You may email Debbie@AzFriends.org to arrange a weekday meeting. No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Please go to our website (www.azfriends.org) to fill out a consultation form then come and see us! We do require any family interested in meeting our dogs or cats to fill out a consultation form – this form helps us determine if the dog/cat and the home are a good match, since it is so easy to fall in love with a photo, without knowing the personality of the dog. Once you have filled out the online Adoption Consultation Form, just come in and see us (or come and see us and fill out the consultation form upon arrival)! Please note that ALL dogs and cats are available to the first home that meets the dog or cat that we feel is a good match. In order to help make the best match, we do want all family members (dogs and humans) to meet any potential new family member. Our adoption center hours are: Closed Sunday/Monday; Tuesday 10a-2p, Wednesday 3p-7p, Thursday 3p-7p, Friday 10a-2p, Saturday 10a-4p. We are located at 952 W Melody Avenue in Gilbert (zip code 85233).All animals are altered, vaccinated, microchipped, dewormed, licensed (dogs). Cats tested for FELV/FIV. Dogs tested for Heartworm. All animals are available to the first family that is a good match, and if we have more than one animal who is a good match, there will be a lottery for all matches. Note that families must have come in to our adoption center and spoken with an adoption counselor prior to any lottery (when we have lotteries, they usually occur on Saturday mornings).

Story
Samela is a 1 year old, 32 pound Shepherd blend who joined is recently from Yuma. She's got the typical energy level for a dog her age, and one piercing blue eye that will pull you in! She is a master of the game of fetch and will bring the ball back as many times as you're willing to throw it! Her favorite activity is showing off how fast she can run in our Scentral Park! She is very treat motivated and working with our volunteers on basic commands. She'll do best in a home with a backyard for quick potty breaks, and free of feline friends. Samela is living at our adoption center while she waits for her forever home.No appointments are necessary and you can come and see us any time we are open. Story
Hi there! I'm Axel, born 12/18/2020, and a purebred handsome German Shepherd. I'm fully vaccinated, neutered, and microchipped. I'm fantastic with little dogs and kids, but as for cats, I just ignore them. I adore going for walks and I'm excellent on the leash, and I'm even good at walking alongside another dog. I successfully use the doggie door and I'm well-behaved when left alone in the house during the day. Although while I’m still getting to know you, i shouldn't be alone in backyard, or ill go looking for you. Just until I know you will always come back for me. Car rides are a favorite of mine, and I'm well-behaved at the groomers, though I'm not a fan of the dryer they use. But, I love to cuddle once I've warmed up to you. Only quirk is that I have a tendency to wander off if given the chance. I've got a bit of a squirrel brain you could say but overall, I'm a very good boy and I'm eager to meet my new forever family! Oh, and mom says I need a tall fenced in yard 🤷‍♀️ If I sound like the pup for you, fill out the form below to get started ⬇️⬇️ https://forms.gle/7dTuG94nZKd839c2A

Story
Abel is a German Shepherd mix born on December 11, 2023, making him 1-year and 2-months-old. He is extremely active, playful, and loyal! Finding someone who can provide him with lots of activity, mental stimulation and enrichment is imperative to keeping him a happy, healthy boy. Although he’s an active boy, he can also relax and chill with you. He is a pup that will be attached at your hip and will always want to do everything with you. He is extremely smart and a dash of shy — when training him, he has caught on very fast and picks up his new skills quickly. He is amazing with all walks of life and super excited to meet everyone. He is extremely playful and would do amazing with another high energy dog in the home or lots of puppy playdates! He loves to play fetch, tug-of-war and working on his kong bone. 🦴 Abel is: - potty trained - crate trained - amazing house manners - fully vaccinated - fast learner (knows sit, down, stay, room boundaries, and we are working on heel currently) If you’re looking for a playful, loyal companion, I’m your guy. Let’s begin our journey together! Adopt below! https://forms.gle/7dTuG94nZKd839c2A

Story
Duchess is a good girl yet kind of lazy. Her breed is more Serta or Sleep Number, as she is more couch potato that a dog. We came across Duchess through a rehoming agency in Surprise. She was found abandoned & had birthed a litter of puppies. Due to trauma her young age, Duchy has some anxiety & separation issues. She is not destructive with this problem & only requires reassurance, attention and belly rubs. Duchess doesn't bite & is very friendly with women & children. With men, she growls as she is cautious. Within 30 minutes she is fine. She bonds with the alpha of the house quickly. Dutch loves to play with her rope outside and likes to be chased, but only for 5 minutes and then she is done. Her dark black coat retains so much heat that her outside time is limited. She has shown zero interest in any other type of toy, and does not chase balls. However, dried pig/cow ears and other parts are her favorite chewies. Duchess is a great dog and an amazing buddy.

Story
We are looking for a new home for our two 6-year-old German Shepherd brothers. They are in good health, neutered, and have had a gastropexy procedure to prevent gastric dilatation-volvulus (GDV). Both dogs are house trained and do not chew furniture. They are good with children in their home environment and friendly with visitors once properly introduced. They know basic commands and enjoy playing games like hide and seek. They are not good with other dogs and can be reactive to strangers while walking. They sometimes fight with each other, so they would do best in a home where they can each receive individual attention. These dogs need a home with more space and opportunities for engagement. If you have the time and can provide a stable environment for them, please get in touch. Despite living in a smaller than ideal home with less attention than deserved, these dogs have truly acted with such patience and kindness. They deserve more time for play & to be loved.

Story
Daisy is the sweetest girl in the whole world and it breaks my heart that I cant be a better parent to her at the moment. She is only 10 months but she is so well behaved! She isnt a barker, loves to meet new people and she loves to cuddle! She deserves someone that can give her more attention and Im not as home as often as I hoped when I first adopted her. I would love to have the opportunity to still visit her and maybe even baby sit if thats something we could work out! Im also willing to still pay for her insurance for the rest of the year if thats something helps out at all! I also have all of her vaccination records, if you have any questions don’t be afraid to reach out (: For any questions my email is nicser15@gmail.com

Story
Eclipse is a 2 year old German shepherd husky mix. We adopted her a year ago and our situation unexpectedly changed. We are not able to give her the activity she needs and would love to see her go to someone who could give her that! She is great with other dogs and has lived with cats. She even cuddles with the cats! Eclipse is very smart and easily listens to commands. We were told by previous owners all shots were done so she is up to date there and had a vet visit recently. She is perfectly healthy and happy. She also loves to cuddle or play around with her favorite toy! We also have a rescue who can back if anyone is available to foster!:)

Story
Zoe is 4 years old and is completely healthy. Zoe was originally rescued from being chained up in a backyard as a puppy. She is full of energy and love and is semi professionally trained. She loves toys and cuddling with her favorite human. Zoe can be obsessive and protective of resources and affection which causes aggression toward other animals. Zoe cannot live with another animal under any circumstance. She absolutely loves all humans and has never shown any aggression toward a human or tried to bite anyone.
