Story
I`m in a FOSTER HOME! To meet me with me, please email my foster at kriskill.hasse@gmail.com.This sweet old lady loves naps on soft beds in between short bouts of play with her foster siblings.  She is in a home with medium and large dogs ranging from 1-14 years old, young and old cats, and an 11-year-old child.  She`s sweet, appears to be potty trained and loves some good scratches.  She has shown no interest in eating anything other than dog food and appears to be anxious about being confined, even in a bedroom.  She has done well out in the house on her large bed during the day.  Imogen would love to find some adopters that have the time and resources to get her all the care she needs. She has some stiff joints (who doesn’t these days!) and would appreciate a home with few or no stairs please. If you love the oldies, this girl is for you.  While she may have some arthritis, she`s got lots of love to give in a quiet and gentle manner.

Story
** Current location: in a foster home in South Korea ** Meet Silvia👋 Silvia’s story began when she was found wandering the streets of Paju at just three months old. In March 2022, she and her sisters ended up in a high-kill shelter. Thankfully, they were rescued just in time! While one of her sisters had a chance to stay in a foster home, Silvia spent over two years in a crowded shelter, waiting for her chance at a forever home. Now, she‘s eager to finally find a family of her own! • Personality: Sweet, Cheerful, Chill Silvia may be a little shy at first, but she quickly warms up and has a playful, cheerful personality! She can get along with men, as long as they approach her slowly. She loves squeezing between people’s legs for some extra affection! She can be a bit barky when she’s unsure and may nip if startled☝️ / Her energy level is moderate—she enjoys playing but also loves her naps. • Affinity with - Dogs: Silvia plays well with other dogs at the shelter! - Cats: Not tested - Adults/Kids: She may be a big shy at first but becomes friendly to anyone including men quickly / Not tested with children. • Walking Manners: Despite her limited experience with walks, Silvia does amazingly well on a leash and follows along nicely! • Housetrained: She‘ll need work on potty training. We recommend regular walks to encourage outdoor potty habits over using pee pads. • Baths/Brushing: As for grooming, Silvia’s a star—she’s great with baths and brushing! • Car Sickness: Not experienced with cars yet. • Separation Anxiety: none • Barks/Howls: She occasionally barks at unfamiliar/scary things for her. • Appetite/Food Allergies: Eats good / No food allergies • Shedding level (1~10): 5-6 • Likes/Dislikes: She likes to go under people’s legs! Also, she loves to play with tennis balls! / She is not a big fan of being confined in a small space.

Story
Male, 1 year old, 42 lbs Personality: playful, affectionate, goofy/funny, snuggler, and energetic With eyes as bright as a star, North is looking for the directions to his forever home. This affectionate pup has plenty of energy to navigate anywhere, whether it’s on a walk to the dog park or to the couch for snuggles. While he might start to fuss when it’s time for his humans to sit and stay, he quickly settles when he remembers how great it is to snooze in his bed or, even better, snuggle next to his humans. This playful boy loves a good toy to chew on, and does best if there’s always one nearby. He knows the words “sit” and “shake”, and is working on the word “down.” He also settles quickly to snooze overnight in his crate and is housetrained. North is excellent with other dogs too, whether he meets them while out for a walk, running around the dog park, or with his canine foster brother at home. North understands when other pups are ready for play, and when they need some space. If you think you're the star that North can rely on to find home, apply today to meet him! You can follow some of his adventures on Instagram @Foster_life_with_cc – If you are interested in meeting a dog or cat, we require an adoption application. If the animal has "HAS APPLICATION" listed, they are still available to receive additional applications but also may be in the process of being adopted soon. Learn more, see our list of dogs needing foster, and apply, https://www.citydogsrescuedc.org/foster-a-city-dog.html City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is a foster-based rescue in Washington, DC. We do not have a shelter. CDCK has a thorough adoption process to find the best possible fit for each of our dogs and cats (we do not operate under a first-come, first-served model). Upon accepting a new cat or dog into the organization, we provide a basic vet visit that includes necessary vaccinations, disease screenings, deworming, microchips, and spay/neuter for dogs six months and older. We do not provide a comprehensive medical exam before adoption. As a result, sickness, injury, and disability may exist unbeknownst to CDCK. City Dogs & City Kitties Rescue is not responsible for payment of any vet care, including known and unknown medical conditions once a cat or dog is adopted from us. Dog specific: Rabies, DHPP, Lepto and Bordetella vaccines. They are tested for HW, Lyme, Ehrlichia, Anaplasmosis. Most cats and dogs will have a house-training accident in the initial days in their new home and we cannot guarantee any pet is housebroken or crate trained.

MIKEY NEEDS A FOREVER HOME!!!!   Come meet Mikey and other great adoptable dogs this Saturday (12/14) from 12-2 pm at Atlas Dog House in DC ((4 I St SE, Washington, DC 20003))!      Name:   Mikey        Best Guess for Breed:   German shepherd, lab and boxer mix Best Guess for Age:   5 years as of April 2024       SEX:    Male   Approximate Weight:   64 lbs   View more cute photos of Mikey here:  https://flic.kr/s/aHBqjBMXGr;    Gets Along With:    Mikey lives with other dogs of all sizes and does very well. He would do best in a home with no cats or young kids as he likes to jump to say hello and lives life to smother you with affection -- big smiles and tongue out.   Currently Living at:  DC area foster home. Check out this video of Mikey's basketball practice: https://youtu.be/j-2r-03pLLM.  Follow Mikey on Instagram at instagram.com/mikeythegoober.  Your Life with Mikey: You get home. His tail goes thump thump thump as he eagerly awaits his favorite thing in the world: You. You open his crate. He jumps out and shows you how happy he is to see you.  You change into your gym shoes and open the door to your fenced backyard. He goes out, sniffs around and does his business, then has a little romp. He sees you walk up with a basketball and he jumps around ecstatically - it’s time to play basketball! He loves basketball! You can see in those videos how much he loves it.  After a game where you think he probably could beat you if he had opposable thumbs, you two go back in. He lumbers over to his crate to chill while you whip up dinner for everyone.  After dinner is the best part. Mikey looks at you with adoring eyes as he galumphs up, turns around, and plops down on your lap. It doesn’t matter that he’s 64 pounds. In his vision of himself, he is a svelte boy no bigger than a Pomeranian, and a human lap is his destiny.  You look down at him - well, maybe up at him when he’s on your lap. And you go “Aw I love you, you big lug.” See, Mikey is one of those awesome dogs with a simple outlook on life. He loves his spot (his crate or lying on a rug at your feet). He loves running around in a fenced yard. And he loves beyond all belief - he completely adores - his humans.  Because he loves people so much and has no clue how big he is, he needs to go to a home where the humans are of an appropriate size and sturdiness to handle him happily plonking down on them. Small children and delicate individuals are not the ideal fit for an onslaught of Mikey-love. He currently lives in a foster home where there are many dogs, including a 12-pound dachshund, so it’s hard to blame him for looking at that one daintily perching on human laps and thinking “me too!” Being a simple dog, he’s also one of those with unshakable dog logic. In his case, Mikey finds wheels scary. So he prefers to run around a nice fenced backyard rather than encounter bicycles, skateboards, and other wheeled items on walks. He rides in a car just fine - it’s just those other wheels. You know. Dog logic.  Mikey is such a sweetie, such an incredibly loyal companion to his humans. Since he thrives running around a big fenced backyard, his family wouldn’t be walking him. He is also terrific in his crate and relishes being in there, so managing him while he’s in the house isn’t complicated. Giving him all the pets and rubs and scratches he demands, that’s definitely work. But the payoff is wonderful. Having a big, super affectionate, simple minded (uncomplicated) dog is an amazing experience - that true unconditional love. What do you say? Can Mikey give all he has to offer to you? Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.  TO ADOPT:   The adoption fee for this dog is $460, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and spay/neuter.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog. Story
❗Current Location: in a local shelter in South Korea❗• • Rescue Story : Meet Hyonie👋 the sweetest gentlest soul! Hyonie was found in a park in South Korea at four months old in March 2022 and taken to a high-risk shelter alongside her two sisters. Luckily, they were saved right before euthanasia by the rescue team. While one of her sisters is living with a foster family, Hyonie is still in the crowded shelter, awaiting her forever family. • Personality: Affectionate, Submissive, Smart Hyonie may seem a little shy at first, but she is surprisingly a BIG cuddler to people, which means that all she needs is a little bit of time to open up in the beginning. She would thrive on affection as she loves to be petted all the time! She would be a great fit if you are searching for a cuddly pup. She learns things quickly as she is a food-driven smart cookie. You will definitely find training her a part of the joyful journey with her! • With Cats: Not tested • With Dogs: Gets along well with other dogs. She’s a submissive and gentle type of dog. • With Adults/Kids: Good with adults / Unknown for kids • Housetrained: Hyonie knows how to use pee-pads even though she lives in the shelter. She may go potty indoors (pads) and outdoors both when adopted. • Shedding: 5-6 • Food Allergies: No. • Walking Manner: in training and improving! • Bathing/Brushing: Good • Bark or Howl: Barks a little bit toward strangers • Likes & Dislikes: She likes going for walks, playing with toys, and chewing stuff. / She doesn’t like being kept in confined spaces. • Note: She has had two of her toes removed due to blocked circulation of blood caused by blankets tangled around her toes. She's been fully recovered and now fine walking and jumping!

Story
*Needs new home immediately* Dingo is high energy, very intelligent, and a loyal companion. He does not seem to understand social cues from other dogs. This is the primary reason we are rehoming. He has taken obedience classes and understands sit, down (lay down), stay (lay down position), and focus. He is currently prescribed a flea and tick monthly chewable.
