Story
My best friend Petra and I came to the shelter together because our human couldn't take care of us anymore. We are very close and want to do everything together which is why we MUST be adopted together, but that doesn't mean we don't have time for people...we love people and will do whatever we can to please them. I can be a bit of a barker when people don't pay attention to me, but as long as you're close by I'm a very good boy. I love toys and running around in the yard for exercise, I am quick to pickup on commands and requests from the humans I've met here at the shelter. I am 2 years old and 69 pounds, Petra is 3 years old and 61 pounds.   If you are interested in adopting this adorable pair of canines, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. If you have any questions, please feel free to call us at 815-858-2265 or email us atsafehaven1471@gmail.com. Randy and Petra's adoption donation is $350 which includes both of their vaccinations, spay/neuter, Heartworm test, Lyme test, Bordetella, flea & tick preventative, heartworm prevention, deworming, and microchip. Please visit our website www.safehavenforpets.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Story
Hi! My buddy, Randy and I come as a pair, we're bonded and will need to be adopted to the same home! Our previous owner had to give us up for health reasons, but the shelter is trying to keep us together. We really need each other and don't react well to being separated, but we're really sweet and love attention. Don't be intimidated by us, we are big but don't want to hurt anyone, just hang our with each other and as many people as we can. I like to chase Randy around outside and steal his toys, he know its because I love him and want to do everything he does. I enjoy being the boss with him, but am very good at learning new commands and will listen to and obey when people tell me to do things here at the shelter. Some info about the two of us: I am 61 pounds and 3 years old, while Randy is 69 pounds and 2 years old.   If you are interested in adopting this adorable pair of canines, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. I can be nervous meeting new people, but once I get to know you I'll be your best friend. I love playing outside and will run circles around you while playing fetch. I can be a picky eater, preferring to graze instead of eating all my food at once and keep a very neat kennel. I will tell you when I have to potty and know how to sit, shake hands, and lay down. I tolerate most of the dogs I've seen here at the shelter, I would probably do well with another dog in my new home. I also enjoy walks and car rides and am a people pleaser, if you think I sound like your kind of girl put in an application today.   If you are interested in adopting this adorable 2 year old canine weighing 58 pounds, please FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION on our website www.safehavenforpets.org. Story
Yara is a very loyal GSD. She is looking for a human that will have time to spend with her daily. She loves walks but still gets a little excited on them. Yara is looking for a home where she is the only dog getting all the attention. She does not do well with other dogs. Yara loves to snuggle her toys. She just started playing fetch at age 5 - she would rather just hang out by the fire while you pet her or do yard work. She is very healthy and has had no health issues. She (and her owner) will be pretty picky in choosing her new forever home because she knows she is very loved and her owner is going to have a tremendously hard time letting her go.

Story
Long story short, when we got her from her previous owner he didn’t disclose her behavioral issues/reactivity. We asked all the right questions but he lied about all of them. Unfortunately we are not in a financial situation to afford the training that she needs. She’s a sweet dog that needs the proper training. Please feel free to ask any questions!
