Story
Goose turned 7 years old July 15th! He is looking for a good home that will love him, give him lots of attention, let him sleep indoors and play fetch with him! He has a sensitive stomach so we try to just stick to his dog food and water! He eats Science diet sensitive skin/stomach chicken! His body doesn’t absorb protein well which makes him look skinny. He’s very playful and high energy, loves walks and car rides!

Story
Rose was found as a stray by an acquaintance of ours and was not getting claimed. We have cared for her for since March, gotten her up to date on vaccines and prevention meds. Rose is HW+ so she will need a home with the financial capacity to do handle that. She is great with our children, fun to be around, and very busy/interested in all things. Typical GSD behavior. She does fence fight/run with neighbor dogs. Digs some when bored. Has gotten trained well with leaving kid toys alone and only using her toys. Rose is crate trained, and does well being in her crate. Does not do well with chickens.

Harper is 3 years old. She is wonderful as an only dog in the household. Unfortunately, she does not get along with our other dog and has become aggressive toward her. She is extremely smart and knows many tricks! She has lots of energy and would thrive with lots of exercise/outside area! She is house trained. She has lots of energy!

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Greta has come a LONG way since her rescue in August 2023! She was found with 6 puppies in the backyard of an abandoned house. Our welfare team had to capture her and rescue her 6 puppies, 2 of which died; you can see her rescue video on her website profile as well as her transformation in the next video. Her 4 babies have been adopted & now it's her turn. She is very shy at first and will need a patient and kind family to help bring her out of her shell even more. She will need a 6 foot fence and will be a flight risk until she bonds with you. She would do best without small children in the home who may leave doors open or not treat her gently. Greta gets along with all dogs and with a confident cat in the foster home but wants to chase a runner cat. She is described as having a "joy for life that's contagious!" Greta is crate/potty trained, affectionate and a great couch potato! To apply to meet her, go to WAALrescue.org/adopt.

Story
Clove is such a fun dog! She's very athletic and loves to run! Shes also very cuddly and loves everyone she meets, but seems to love men even more. Her recall and leave it are fantastic and she knows sit and lie down, but has a "what's in it for me attitude until she completely respects you. She's easy to train because she's food motivated, toy motivated, and loves to learn. When hanging out around the house, Clove likes to know where I'm at but does go hang out in another room occasionally. For being a young, high energy dog she is really nice at home. She's well behaved and matches our energy, relaxing when we're hanging out and playing when it's time to play. She loves her ball and stuffies but the stuffies don't always last very long around her. Clove will paw at the door when she needs to go outside and she stays off all the furniture. She is pushy and tests boundaries, but respects me when I stay firm. There are some guarding issues with her food so I've started hand feeding her and asking things of her instead of just giving her a bowl of food. She also doesn't like when the resident dog approaches her toys, food, or kennel but he's respectful of her space and I'm working with her on that as well. She is car reactive, so I wouldn't recommend off leash training, but we're working on her leave it command and she's getting better. Clove needs regular exercise, but even on the days I don't get her out for a long walk she's still a good girl. Clove would do best in a home that has experience with working breeds and would do fine with older children who understand her boundaries. We've met some cats on our walks and she is curious, but doesn't seem to see them as prey. She needs regular activity such as a combination of long walks/runs, playing fetch, and puzzle toys but if you only get her out of the house every other day, she can handle that too. Clove really needs to find a good, active home, she's been at the rescue for far too long and would make a great family pet!
