Story
Everyone meet Jose! Jose is a 3 year old male German Shepherd Mix. Jose has been in foster care for a while and is doing wonderfully and is ready for his forever home. Although it takes a little bit of time for him to warm up to his person, once he does he loves giving kisses and getting all the pets!Jose gets along well with other pups, but often likes to be the leader! Jose is a very good boy and has been started on basic commands such as sit, down, and heeling. He is pretty calm for his breed and enjoys relaxing and taking naps but also has a playful side to him. Jose listens very well, is trainable with good toy drive, and is always willing to work for food! He is also potty trained!Jose is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. This easygoing nature makes her a wonderful candidate for a family or single dog owner. In the car, Mya shines, making every trip an enjoyable experience. On the leash, she has good manners with minimal pulling, so walks are a breeze. One thing to note about Mya: she prefers to keep her paws on the ground and isn’t a fan of being picked up. Story
Hi! I’m Martin, a 1-year-old German Shepherd mix. I’m living with my foster family and my 8-year-old mixed breed foster sister, and we get along great! This is what my Foster parents have to say about me: I’d do well with other dogs in my future home. I think I’d thrive in a home with a family willing to train me. I’m smart and full of energy, so I need some guidance to be my best self. They also believe I’d do well with kids (late elementary/middle school age) who enjoy playing and running around, as I love outdoor fun and toys! I’m usually calm and quiet, but I get bursts of energy to play for about 10 minutes before napping. I love cozy spots on the couch or bed, and I enjoy some `me` time in my open kennel. I’m snuggly and love affection and attention! I’m working on not being mouthy and jumping, especially when I get excited to see people. My foster mom says I can jump like a spring, but we’re practicing calm greetings. I’m also learning to sit. I can be shy with newcomers, but a few treats help me warm up quickly. I’m mostly house-trained and just need regular outdoor trips to avoid accidents. I’ve had a few while adjusting, but never in my kennel.I LOVE food and am very treat motivated! I sleep quietly in my foster parents’ bedroom, in my kennel, all night. When kept in another room, I was too nervous but now I sleep peacefully until everyone wakes up. I’m sweet, loving, playful, and intelligent, and I would thrive in a home that offers training and playtime. I love my foster home, but I’d be even more excited to find my forever family!Martin is currently in foster care outside of the shelter. Story
Thor was taken in at 6 months old in 2019. He was an only child for a few years and thrived with tons of exercise and attention. He loves to go on walks, swim in ponds, and stretch out in the bed and watch movies. Thunderstorms and fireworks do spark fear in him so it's best to have him in a calming environment in those instances. He is very happy to play with other dogs and loves playing with my younger sibling. When left home alone Thor needs to be kenneled or left outside in a FENCED in yard. He is an escape artist and VERY smart so it's best to have him somewhere safe he can hang out till you return home. He needs someone who has the time and patience to work with him on his confidence and anxieties. He is potty trained and kennel trained. Recently we have had a child, and it has caused his anxiety to go through the roof. It is not fair to him to be kenneled all the time and needs space and exercise with the right family!
