Story
Coyote is a stunning shepherd mix, whose personality is as striking as his amber eyes! He is so loving and friendly to every person and dog he meets! He is currently in foster with me with 5 dogs— all of their personalities ranging from high energy and dominant to low energy and submissive, and he gets along great with all of them perfectly! He is, and will remain, smaller for a shepherd. (He is pictured above with an average-sized shepherd for reference.) Though he can be managed, we do prefer for Coyote to go to a home with no flighty/skittish cats/animals, as he likes to give chase. He gets along with his foster brother cat, but that’s cat isn’t afraid of dogs and will stand up for himself. We are doing impulse control training to help manage that prey drive and he’s doing amazing! His recall is now starting to outweigh his chasing! He’s a quick learner, is extremely food motivated, and loves puzzles. Coyote is very affectionate and playful. He loves cuddling after a long day of play and adventure! He’s great in the house, but if he’s left alone, it would be best to crate him. He loves children and is very gentle and easy with them. He would fit well into any family! Coyote is medium to high energy, and being a shepherd, needs mental stimulation and training to keep from getting bored! He loves hiking and long walks and is amazing off leash, so he’d do great in an active home. He’s come very far in his training, but we are still working every day on his impulse, recall, and obedience.

Story
Callie is the last one of her litter available for adoption! This sweet girl was born on New Years Day 2024 and weighs approximately 45 lbs. She is mostly full grown at this age/size. Callie was born in a home where her parents currently still live. Mom is a boxer mix and dad is a yellow/white lab mix, both parents weigh around 50 lbs. Callie and her siblings were denied by multiple rescues when the owner reached out to them. They were about to be sent to animal control, where more likely they would be euthanized as owner surrenders, when she reached out to us, and we couldn’t turn her away. She is so calm, and so gentle. Her siblings all would pick on her, knowing she was the submissive one of the litter. Callie has met kitties and she is more afraid of them, then they are of her. Callie LOVES other dogs, but they must be gentle and nice to her. She is still a very submissive girl. She’s not timid, but she is just so gentle and quiet. You would never know she walked up to you without looking down at her. She quietly follows her humans around, just wanting to be next to them. Callie has grown up with children almost her whole young life. She would be an amazing addition to a family with children who understand she is a very calm girl and overly hyper children would not fit well. She is mostly house trained, and she is crate trained. Callie was the observer of the litter. She would watch everything before engaging in what they were all doing. She is not overly active, and a more low key to medium active home would be ideal for her. She enjoys her walks, but more enjoys hanging out around the house. Callie is spayed, heart worm negative, current on rabies vaccine, bordatella, parvo/distemper, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer and microchipped. A certificate of health will be issued by a veterinarian prior to transport from Texas. To apply to adopt: www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
Owen is a very gentle 43 lb boy. Owen has not had any easy life. He was found back in December of 2023, abandoned in a baseball field in Houston with 2 other dogs. Somebody had locked all 3 dogs in the park, with no access to food, water or shelter for days. Animal control didn’t have room for them, and no rescues wanted to help the 3 dogs. A good Samaritan took all 3 dogs under her wing and put them in boarding, thinking she would find help for them, and never did. She reached out to us for help with the remaining 2 (1 she was able to rehome). The options now for the remaining 2 are to be surrendered to animal control, where it is more likely they will be euthanized. Bindi and Owen are the remaining 2 of 3. Owen is 1.5 years old and a bit shy at first when you meet him. He is not sure which humans he can trust and which ones he cannot, as in his earlier life, humans were not so kind to him. When he learns to trust you, he is all smiles and love. He has the absolute best smile. Owen is crate trained, despite the fact that he would much rather just be out with his human. Nothing gets past Owen. He is a VERY smart boy. He catches on quickly to everything around him. He is very observant and curious. He would do great with other dogs or on his own. Another dog would help him gain the confidence he needs, but with the right human, he would be fine on his own. We recommend only older children or no children with Owen, as a more patient and not super active home would be best for him. Owen LOVES going on walks and adventures. He would be a great adventure buddy. He also rides great in the car with no issues. The ideal home for Owen would be one that understands he has not had the easiest life, but he has so much love to give. Owen is calm, gentle, loving, sweet, super intelligent and just all around a wonderful boy. Owen is neutered, heart worm negative, current on rabies vaccine, bordatella, parvo/distemper vaccine, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer, and microchipped. He will be issued a certificate of health before transport from Texas. To apply to adopt Owen: www.pawsitive-impact-animal-rescue.org

Story
How this amazing boy hasn’t been adopted yet is beyond us. This sweet boy is 2 years old and weighs approximately 50 lbs. Bullwinkle is a very inquisitive dog that loves to explore and go on adventures with his humans. He just wants to see everything he can and know what’s out in the big world around him. He absolutely loves going on hikes. When he was found, he was severely underweight. When he made it to the foster, he was still underweight. We believe he was on the street for quite a bit of time because once he had access to regular groceries, he gained weight and is now a very healthy size. He definitely loves his meals and treats. Bullwinkle was caught counter surfing twice at his foster home in the beginning (in the almost 7 months he has been there, so not bad!) – he really enjoyed the fried fish he got though. He has been in the same house with three female large dogs and two cats. He loves his female foster dog siblings and gets along great with all 3. He does think when cats run, he’s meant to chase them, not that he wants to be mean, he just wants to play with them. Either a home with cats that can get to higher ground, or a no cat home would be best for Bullwinkle. He has been eating Diamond Natural Skin & Coat formula dry dog food and Wholehearted Lamb & Rice wet food which he does wonderful on. He absolutely loves car rides. LOVES IT!!!! If he gets into the garage, then he is just convinced he is going for a ride. It’s gotten to the point the foster takes all the dogs for a quick car ride on Saturday mornings. Bullwinkle is very loyal to his humans and will alert you to someone who shouldn’t be there. He has been sleeping in the same bed with the foster and two of the other dogs. He is definitely a cuddler. He is house trained but prefers not to be crated as he would rather be free in the house, which he has no issues with. He loves peanut butter. If you ever must give him pills, this is the way to go. Bullwinkle is very smart, extremely loyal and desperately needs his best friend in his life. He will be your protector, your companion, and your shadow. He would make a wonderful dog for the perfect home. Bullwinkle is neutered, heart worm negative, current on rabies vaccine, bordatella vaccine, parvo/distemper vaccine, flea/tick and heart worm prevention, dewormer, and microchipped. Prior to transport out of Texas (where he is located), he will be issued a certificate of health from a veterinarian giving him a clean bill of health. Bullwinkle is located in Texas and available for transport once adopted. We have transports that leave Texas every 1-3 weeks. We go over options with an approved adopter. Story
My name is Bella Mia and as you can see, I am a beautiful golden girl that smiles and welcomes everyone I meet with an open heart of friendship.  I am a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix that is obviously going to be large and just bigger to love.  They say I was born around February 11, 2023 and for sure I am still very much a puppy even though I weigh 76 pounds.  They whisper behind my back and say that “she is a very smart girl” and that makes me want to be even smarter.  I try to keep my sweet personality showing out there 24/7 even though I am competing for attention from my other large and in charge siblings.  I am learning things but my foster family is busy and they are just maintaining good care for me and my large siblings.  I have energy to burn and I need a fenced yard to run in and someone that will focus on teaching me.  I need a loving and training oriented family who loves to bring a dog from A to Z status.  I survived a very tough start in life and am one of 12 siblings.  Only six of us survived.  I like fun, lots of activity and the hustle and bustle of family.  I need a fenced yard that is 6 ft. tall and it would be best to have me with children who are over 8 years of age because of my large exuberant size.  I am a well-rounded girl that will make your home much more Fun and loving.  If you are interested in making me a part of your life, please contact Critter Cavalry Rescue at ccrnewengland@gmail.com PLEASE NOTE:   Our dogs and cats are fostered in Tennessee and can transport weekly up to the Northeast region.  Request an application and learn more about Critter Cavalry at https://www.crittercavalry.com/adoption.August 19, 2024, 8:06 am
