Story
Lovely dog she loves her person and will do anything for a ball. Loves to play fetch and will play all day if she could. I would need to take her on a walk at least once a day to get her energy out but due to work I travel 3 weeks at a time. Not fair for her.

Story
Hello, this is Bourbon. She was a puppy rescue from "Bones to Beds". We have had her for the last 4 years, she will be turning 5 in March. She is a very shy cautious dog who is frightened by anything unknown. Due to this she has frequent anxiety and has been deemed a reactive dog. We've worked with professional dog trainers (Sit Means Sit) to help with this and it was very helpful for a few years. Bourbon listens to commands very well if she is in an environment with no distractions. An issue of resources guarding has developed in the last few years which we have been trying to mitigate. However we have (2) cats in the family and the guarding has now extend to them. We have been sent to the vet a number of times for injuries to the cats from Bourbon. The hard thing for us is Bourbon does not show signs of being aggressive until she explodes. We think she might have rage syndrome as she will wake from sleep in a frenzy. Otherwise she is a very cuddly loving girl, who loves scritches

Story
Kai Kai is a male mix breed. DOB: October of 2023 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am a wonderful dog who has unfortunately found myself homeless for unknown reasons. Someone took the time to teach me to sit, shake, lie down and roll over. I sure love attention as well. I am fun and affectionate. I am a great candidate for obedience training. I pull on leash and can be quite strong. I would do best with a physically fenced yard. I may require it pending applicants experience and location. I currently weigh about 50 pounds. I am a little anxious in a kennel setting. With daily exercise and boundary training, I should settle into a home setting after I’ve been allowed time to adjust. I would do well with another playful dog. I have not been tested with cats at this time. I would be best suited with children 8 years and older. I am not a good candidate for apartment life. I am a very sweet boy, and I am ready to start my new life with an active family. I will absolutely make a great companion!!!

Story
One year old Jacob found himself in a Texas shelter with a toe injury. He has recovered well and made his way up to Michigan in search of his forever home. He is all ears and all cute! Jacob gets along great with other dogs and loves to play. He is crate and house trained and an all around smart boy, typical of his breed. He is a little shy at first,  but comes right out of his shell after a bit. Because of his shyness, a physical fenced yard is required.  Jacob is 40 lbs (and growing), neutered, up to date in shots and microchipped. His adoption fee is $300.00. Please email us at projecthoperescue@gmail.com if you have questions about him. Ready to apply for him, visit our website at www.projecthoperescue.org and fill out one of our adoption applications.February 14, 2025, 3:36 pm

Story
Hey, my name is Micky and I am looking for my forever home! I am a sweet boy with a TON of energy, and I am hoping to find an adopter who not only shares my energy level, but who will help train me to keep me on my best behavior. I can be rough when I play, so I will need a home without young children. Once I am fully comfortable with you, you will have a friend for life! I am loving and smart and would make the perfect dog for an experienced dog parent. I really really hate the vet so I will need someone who can help me find a vet I feel comfortable with. I may sound like extra work, I can promise you that the love I will give will be totally worth it! Micky has heartworm which means that this dog has parasitic worms in the right ventricle of the heart and nearby blood vessels. Heartworm is transmitted from one dog to another by mosquitoes and can be easily prevented using monthly heartworm preventative, but once the disease is contracted the treatment process can be quite intensive. Micky will need to remain sedentary with minimal activity during the treatment process to ensure a healthy recovery. There is additional information on heartworm disease and treatment available at our Adoption Desk. The heartworm injections for treatment are covered by HSHV, but there may be additional costs associated with clinical care.

Story
Hello! My name is Louie, an adorable teen-puppy looking for a forever home! I am a bit older than other puppies but that doesn`t stop me from acting like I`m a funny little pup! I will depend on you for guidance and training, especially to help with my shy nature. I like to play with dogs, but I can be a little much for dogs that don`t like to wrestle. So I`m looking for another playmate who`s ready for some fun! This playfulness and a higher prey drive mean I would be best in a home without cats, so no feline friends for me. If you are willing to devote the time needed for a guy like me, you will gain an amazing companion!
