Story
Name: Sarabi Breed Guess: German Shepherd Age: 7 months old Gender: Female Weight: 45 pounds Shelter Temperament: Sweet & Shy Energy Level: High Children: Unknown Cats: Will test upon request Dogs: Meet and Greet Required Adoption fee: $250 Hi! I am pretty new to the ARP and staff are still getting to know me. I am currently taking the time to gain confidence. I like playing with my siblings, cuddling up in warm blankets, and playing with my toys. The Animal Rescue Project (www.animalrescueproject.org) is committed to the best possible veterinary care for the pets it rescues and it is looking for adopters who will be similarly committed. Adoptions are NOT first come, first served! We seek to choose the best fit for the approved adopter and pet. Please understand that these animals are still new to us and their needs and requirements can change at any time as we learn more about them. We will try our best to get them updated online as soon as possible. All dogs and puppies are given a general check-up when they enter our program. They receive medication to remove any intestinal parasites (worms), fleas, and ticks they may have. Dogs greater than six months of age are checked for heartworm. If heartworm positive, the Animal Rescue Project treats the disease. Dogs and pups receive all age-appropriate vaccinations for distemper, and dogs greater than four months of age are also vaccinated for rabies, in compliance with State of Michigan laws. All dogs are also microchipped. Most dogs and older puppies are spayed or neutered before adoption. In the case of puppies not old enough to be safely sterilized, a $50 deposit is required at the time of adoption and is refunded to the adopter with proof of sterilization. The Animal Rescue Project requires every adopter to establish an active relationship with a veterinarian no later than 10 days after adoption. Adopters will receive a plan for routine veterinary care at the time of adoption and are expected to work with their vet to complete the plan.

Story
Kai Kai is a male mix breed. DOB: October of 2023 Adoption fee: $100.00 I am a wonderful dog who has unfortunately found myself homeless for unknown reasons. Someone took the time to teach me to sit, shake, lie down and roll over. I sure love attention as well. I am fun and affectionate. I am a great candidate for obedience training. I pull on leash and can be quite strong. I would do best with a physically fenced yard. I may require it pending applicants experience and location. I currently weigh about 50 pounds. I am a little anxious in a kennel setting. With daily exercise and boundary training, I should settle into a home setting after I’ve been allowed time to adjust. I would do well with another playful dog. I have not been tested with cats at this time. I would be best suited with children 8 years and older. I am not a good candidate for apartment life. I am a very sweet boy, and I am ready to start my new life with an active family. I will absolutely make a great companion!!!
