Story
Gunner is a great dog who isn't quite used to having little kids in his house. We recommend older children for him to be successful in a new home. Gunner is playful and loving. He gets along with other dogs but doesn't care for the cats much. Gunner is a bit of a parrot because he loves to lay on the back of whatever you're sitting on! He loves to be brushed and petted. :) You have to meet him to appreciate his quirky personality. Gunner has a bit of anxiety and would benefit from only having 1 other animal in the home or no other animals in the home. We feel he would also benefit from someone being home a majority of the time. He really is a good boy who just needs a chance to love someone. Gunner is microchipped and crate trained. He does howl once in a while in the night. :) Come meet him!

Story
Luka is a gorgeous white shepherd who was abandoned by his family. He is a big, energetic guy that loves to play in the yard. He isn't sure about the other dogs in the shelter, so if you have other dogs, it would be important to make sure they are good with each other before moving forward. Born in 2020, Luka keeps his kennel pretty clean, so he was most likely house trained and would only need to get used to your home and routine. He would be fine with older kids, but shouldn't be in a home with cats. Does Luka sound like the right guy for you? Come down and meet him - he is a great guy! All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition. Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed. If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only. If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.

Story
I'm Echo! I am the most handsome GSD you have ever seen! I was transferred to PCHS from a veterinary clinic in Hastings after I was surrendered to the clinic. My owner had wanted to euthanize me since me and the other large resident dog were not getting along. A wonderful employee had my back and took her own time to find me a rescue and she even transported me herself. I lived in her home for a little bit until PCHS had a kennel for me. While in that home it was noted that I did not care about the cats and did well with the small dog in the home. It is not recommended I go to a home with other large male dogs or dominant large female dogs. I am a little shy at first but once I warm up to you I turn into the gum on the bottom of your shoe! (In other words, I never want to leave your side!)I'm still a young boy and could use some help with confidence building and basic commands. I ride well in the car, walk pretty well on leash and am house trained. It would be ideal for me to go to a home that has GSD experience or large dog experience. If I sound like I could be the boy for you, apply for Echo today!Adoption fee $350 + $30 microchip fee + tax
