Story
Mystery and Black dog are a bonded pair. Mystery prefers the company of other dogs. She’s not affectionate but LOVES playing fetch and going on walks! Black dog is the definition of lazy. His idea of exercise is moving from the bed to his food bowl. We'd prefer them to be the only dogs in the home just because they share such a strong bond!

Story
Our poor girl Salem is still waiting for a home after 8 long years. Though she can be shy at first, she longs to be someone’s loyal guardian, hiking partner, and best friend. Despite her severe hip dysplasia, she’s very active and LOVES to run. She’s so playful and full of life. Her inner puppy comes out when she gets to play with toys! Salem also loves cooler weather, though she can deal with summer heat by playing in the water. She’s great with other dogs, and loves to play with them! She’s amazing on and off leash. Salem is our special girl and we’d love to see her in a home where she can live comfortably and happily for her forever.

Story
Mikey’s Holiday Wish: A Forever Home Mikey has been mostly a very good boy this year—aside from his talent for scaling 6-foot chain-link fences! But don’t let that fool you—he’s firmly on Santa’s “Nice List.” This cheerful, loving, and playful pup is the perfect companion for someone ready to match his zest for life.2024 was a big year for Mikey. After arriving at our shelter, we discovered he had heartworms—a tough diagnosis for any dog. Mikey handled it like a champ, though, staying calm and patient through three months of treatment (not easy for an energetic guy like him).A quick reminder for pet owners: Heartworm prevention is as easy as giving your dog a monthly pill. Be sure to talk to your vet about keeping your furry friends safe and healthy! Now fully recovered and heartworm-free, Mikey is ready to find his forever family. He’s currently the only dog in the shelter, and his one Christmas wish is to spend the holidays in a loving home.Mikey is a 6-year-old, neutered Shepherd mix with a big heart and an even bigger personality. He’s:Dog selective: Prefers to choose his canine companions wisely.Definitely Not a fan of cats or other small furry things: Those whiskers are just too tempting to chase!Great with older kids: He thrives in active homes where he can keep up with the fun.Adventurous and well-behaved: Loves car rides, tolerates baths like a pro, and knows some basic commands. While Mikey already has a solid foundation, he’d benefit from continued training to polish his manners and unleash his full potential. If you’re looking for a loyal and spirited companion, Mikey could be the perfect addition to your family. Give him the gift of a home this holiday season—and he’ll return the favor with endless love and tail wags.Ready to make Mikey’s Christmas wish come true?

Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. SNOWALL  was saved from a high kill shelter in Texas and arrived at Give a Dog a Home Rescue, in Sebec, Maine on Saturday 3rd August.   We post in east coast states and Canada as we have many families adopt and are happy to make the worthwhile trip up to the rescue. We do not always have time to post all the pictures on each dogs individual page, but we do post a lot of photo's on the rescue Facebook page. Snowball is neutered, rabies, core vaccines, monthly preventatives, heartworm and tick disease tested negative and is microchipped with 24PetWatch. He has an estimated date of birth of September 2023 and at the beginning of August weighed around 60 pounds. We have no way of knowing the breed, it is up to individuals to look at the pictures and videos to make up their own mind. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks.    He does need an active family who will ensure he gets all the exercise, both mentally and physically that he needs to live a happy fulfilling life. SNOWBALL has an adoption fee of $300 Interested families are required to complete our application process and once approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue in SEBEC, Maine to meet and take home their new best friend. Our process takes 1-2 days as long as we are able to talk to references, so be prepared to be approved (hopefully) to adopt within a few days of submitting the adoption application. Story
You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. GEYRAN was saved and cared for by Muscat Dog Adoption, before sending her with other saved dogs to Give a Dog a Home Rescue in Sebec, Maine. They arrived in the US on 28th January 2025 and were transported to the rescue where they are settling in. GEYRAN was cleared by the US canine center for diseases upon entry into the US. She is spayed, rabies, core vaccines, heartworm and tick tested negative, is on monthly preventatives, microchipped, weighs around 56 pounds and has an estimated date of birth or 2 February 2021. She is a front leg amputee. Geyran is the  mother of Binky. GEYRAN's (Geeran) Story is that she rescued after her and her pups were shot. Sadly only one of her pups survived and Binky came to the US at the same time as her. Geyran had been a street dog and had her pups on the streets and managed for her family to survive, socializing with some nice locals for about a year before the shooting. She was shot twice in her leg which unfortunately did too much damage and her leg had to be amputated. She is an incredibly happy and social girl who loves everyone she meets. Stray dogs in Oman are referred to as "Wadi Dogs" and are a mix of the popular sighthound breeds, specifically thought to be descendents of the majestic Saluki and other smaller breeds, many resembling whippets with their small agile frames. If not saved these dogs are often shot or brutally ran over and left for dead. We are looking for families that have the lifestyle that the dog needs to lead a healthy, both mentally and physically life, who can afford a GOOD quality food, toys and treats and understand the importance of veterinary wellness checks. GEYRAN is available for adoption for an adoption fee of $300, as noted she is located at the rescue in Sebec, Maine and families are required to complete and submit an  adoption application and when approved schedule an appointment to come to the rescue to meet and hopefully take home this precious girl home. Applications are processed with 24 hours of them being received.
