Story
Meet Layla, a sweet and loving 3 year old purebred German shepherd. We adopted Layla as a puppy and raised her in harmony with other pets (dogs/cats) in the same household with no issues. As Layla matured she began to struggle with. nervousness/reactivity, later causing a serious fight with a senior housemate (dog). But has shown zero aggression to humans but would be best in a home with older due to limited exposure to children .Layla Needs to be in a home where she is only pet and receive the love and attention she deserves. We are heartbroken to rehome Layla but have chosen to for the safety and quality of life for her and the other pets in the household. She needs someone willing to work with her on her reactivity and nervousness preferably with someone who has experience with reactive dogs/german shepherd. Layla is house trained, crate trained and knows basic commands such as sit/stay/come/shake and loves long walks and her pool in the summer. She will be dearly missed.

Story
When I got her I was told she was potty trained the lady said she could not keep her and she was beautiful. I was also told she was good with other pets. I was told she has seperation anxiety and would need to be in a kennel while not home because she chews on things. I figured not a big deal because she was less than 2 years old. She just turned 2. She needs a single pet home. she lives in the kennel except when I take her outside to go to the bathroom, eat and drink. She has always been sweet as pie to me. She barks a lot when people walk by or knock. I have the kennel and toys 2 leashes a harness and a collar. Ask me anything number is 315-209-9960

Story
This is Jake! Intake Date: 1/2/2025 Intake Type: Stray Gender: neutered male DOB: 1/5/2023 Some of you may recognize this handsome fella from his 2 month long game of cat and mouse, where he was spotted running all over from Arkport NY to Canisteo NY! He had several organizations, dog control officers, individuals, and whole communities working together to try and bring him to safety. After many failed attempts, there was success! It took some time for Jake to settle in and start to open up, and we are still learning new things about him every day. We do believe that he was dumped and left to fend for himself by his owner. It is also likely that he may not have been treated kindly in the past as he is very leery of men. Jake is much more accepting and open to women, but we have been slowly introducing him to men in hopes that he can learn that they too can be friends. Once Jake is comfortable with his people, he turns into a big mushy teddy bear! He loves to give hugs and kisses and spend time lounging next to his people. He enjoys playing fetch, although he's not the most coordinated pup! He would be the perfect snuggle buddy on cold winter days, or durning netflix binges. He really is a sweet boy, he just needs someone with patience and that is willing to provide him with ongoing training and support to help him navigate his challenges! Jake is selective with other dogs, as he is fearful, but he has been able to make friends with another shelter pup of ours (Griffin) and they play very well together. Multiple meet and greets may be required if you have another pup in the home to see if they may be a good match. Jake does require a home with older children 16+ years old who are able to understand and respect his boundaries, and allow him to interact with them on his own terms. A home with a fenced in yard would be ideal as well, due to Jakes history of being difficult to catch. Jake truly is an amazing boy, and we know he will make a wonderful companion to someone who is willing and able to give him all the time and patience required for him to blossom. Stop in today to meet this sweet handsome guy!
