Story
Our pets are fostered and physically located in NC until adopted. Once adopted we can deliver to your location or one of our north eastern delivery locations. We have a transporter who delivers north ever other week. Sheldon came from a local shelter. They were over full and he was in danger of being euthanized. He is a german shepherd mix. The vet said he is around 2 years old( as of 6-22-23). He is a tall lanky dog, around 65 to 70 pounds. He is a sweet boy and very affectionate. He needs a home with room to run. He is energetic and would need an adopter who can embrace it. He will make THE BEST hiking buddy ever. He likes water to. He would be best in a home where he can be the only dog. If he can't be an only dog he needs a home with a large breed submissive female. He would also do well with puppies. He is doing well with crate training and house training. He will go to his new home current on vaccines, testing, preventives, neutered and microchipped. He will receive a complete physical by our vet prior to going home. He will also be issued a certificate of Health. The adopter will get all the health records with adoption. We require a pre screen application to adopt. You can get that on our website at www.saveamuttkennel.net

Story
Meet Mia! 🐶Mia is an almost 3-year old spayed female GSD. She is currently up to date on her shots, microchipped, on monthly preventatives along with CBD.🐶 🙏Mia came to us as an owner surrender. She spent the majority of the first 1.5 years of her life in a crate 23 hours a day as the people that “adopted” her were not prepared for a high energy working dog.🙏 💔When Mia arrived to her foster, she was a MESS. She did not understand how to dog, she didn’t understand life in a house and will absolutely not enter a crate without hurting herself. Mia’s foster mom works with her daily on training to help her manage her anxiety/nervousness as well as learning new skills. ❤️ Mia has come a very long way in the short time we’ve had her. Here’s a little more about her: 🐾Mia should not be crated, she is fine being penned off or closed in another room 🐾Mia’s adoption WILL be a slow process and her trainer will be involved. This is a non-negotiable. 🐾Mia is dog selective, she can be successful, meet and greets required 🐾Mia is best suited to an adult only home where the family understands her anxiety and nervousness 🐾A Fence is strongly recommended, due to her history of anxiety and nervousness she is considered a flight risk for any new adopter. 🐾Mia’s favorite past-time no matter the weather is chasing balls!! 🐾Mia is incredibly smart and food motivated which makes training a breeze 🐾Mia has all of the traits of the GSD breed standard. She is incredibly loyal, smart, protective, and loves playtime. GSD/working breed experience is required.

Story
Adopted from a breeder with his brother. No longer gets along with his littermate nor our senior dog, or our cats. He's a good dog and very sweet, recommended female adopter as he was raised by 3 women. He was born on 3-18-24 and is looking for a home to thrive in for the rest of his life. We're looking for a home without any other pets and without children younger than 12. He's very good at listening and is very trainable. He's very hyper and needs activity and focus that we cannot give him. He is not neutered. Will need a local adopter who is willing to stay in touch with us and provide us updates.

Story
Queen or “Queenie” as she’s affectionately knows as is truly a royal lady looking for her a home to call hers. This three year old, German shepherd is a dog friendly (no seriously, she looooves other dogs) and potential kid friendly (she’s had minimal interaction with kiddos since being in foster but loves to get pets from them on her walks) gal who has the biggest heart we’ve ever seen on a dog. She is potty trained, does amazing on car rides, and is crate trained although she does prefer the dog bed or couch to the kennel. Whether it’s cuddling on the couch for hours, going on our daily walks, or lounging on the deck to soak up some sun, she’s up for anything as long as her humans are with her. Queen does have EPI (Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency) which requires she has an enzyme med with each meal but that doesn’t slow down this little lady in the slightest. Queen deserves to find a family that will love her the way she loves everyone. Please reach out to krsaund14@gmail.com for more information and to meet sweet Queen!

Story
Amira is a very sweet German - shepherd-Husky. She does have some resource guarding with her food. She has worked with k9 trainers. Her over-protectiveness seems to be getting worse. She has never aggressively bit/attacked anyone or another dog. We have new children in the family and lack the time for Amira that she deserves. She is a good and loving dog that needs a loving home. She likes to play with her ball, play fetch, go for walks, car rides. Loves running, snow, and anything outside.

Story
Bailey is 4 yrs old, a great protector and is very loyal. She is very high energy and needs lots of room to run and play. Bailey is great with kids but her high energy can be too much for smaller children (crawling age to about 5yrs old). She gets along with other dogs for the most part but was attacked by a Rottweiler as a puppy so that breed has always been a trigger for her. No health issues or major injuries. Bailey is sensitive to “chicken” in dog foods.

Story
Meet Ranger, the intelligent and active Belgian Malinois/German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and boundless energy. This handsome boy is a fast learner and has mastered essential commands like sit, down, wait, and shake. He's so clever that he tackled a level 3 puzzle on his first try! Ranger is a well-behaved and well-trained pup, making him a pleasure to have around the house. He's house trained, crate trained, and shows no signs of destructiveness indoors. However, he does experience some separation anxiety when his human leaves the house, which is why he's kept in his crate during errands. But don't worry, when he's playing in the backyard with his furry friend, he's perfectly content and doesn't exhibit any separation anxiety. Ranger is an active boy who loves going on walks, and he'll gladly accompany you on all your outdoor adventures. While Ranger is intelligent and affectionate, he can be barrier reactive, meaning he may react when he encounters certain barriers or boundaries. Patience and positive reinforcement training can help him overcome this behavior. This is very typical behavior for both breeds and he absolutely has to be adopted into a Mali/GSD knowledgeable family/ Ranger was in pretty rough shape when rescued and the vet initially thought he had an intestinal disease. Nothing was definitively diagnosed but the vet believes he has small intestinal issues. He is on a folate vitamin daily and will just need annual lab work and a high quality RAW FOOD diet. Ranger's charm and charisma shine through in the photos and videos provided, capturing his playful and loving nature. If you're looking for a smart, active, and affectionate companion, Ranger is the perfect match. Give him the love and care he deserves, and he'll reward you with loyalty and companionship like no other. Local adoption fee is $200 (in TX) Out of state adoption fee is $400 (includes transport to your area - $50 Temporary Fuel Charge will be added)
