Story
Meet Quiet Violet! This girl doesn't bark, so if you need a loud guard dog, you'll have to look elsewhere. Violet actually "speaks" rather than barks, and only for mealtime. Violet is searching for her retirement home as she's around 8 years young now. She does well with short walks as she's had two TPLO surgeries, but it doesn't stop her from playing with squeaky balls in the yard! She is Miss Congeniality with other dogs and people alike. Treats, food and squeaky toys are all Violet's favourite things! She's also very clean and house trained. Violet's dreamhome wishlist: > A rural or suburban home. Violet is good with cows and horses, but not a fan of big city life. > A home with or without another balanced dog. > A mature home without young children (older teens okay). > Someone who works from home or is retired to ensure Violet gets enough "me" time. Hiring a dog walker or a family who work alternate hours would be other options. > Someone who wants a lifelong companion that will cherish Violet the way she'll cherish them! Story
Name, age, breed: Yetti, 4yr, German Shepherd mixLikes: Playing fetch, going to dog parks, going for walks, running with a bike, people, learning new tricks/commandsDislikes: Unknown at this timeWhat would be the ideal home? Any home! She is very friendly and laid-back. Would do well in an active home that can burn out her energy. Yetti would enjoy a home with a yard and many opportunities to get some exercise with her owner. Good with other cats? Unknown - She likes to chase them out of our yard. Good with dogs? Very good with dogs of all sizes. She is respectful, playful, and mature in her behavior towards other dogs. Good with children? She has been around children ages 10 and 12. She does great with them! She is very respectful and gentle. She is a large dog, therefore she may knock over a child if not watching.Temperament: Yetti is easy going and shows a desire to please her owners. She is very willing to learn new things. Currently, she is learning how to run with a bike and how to walk without pulling on the leash. She is very friendly and respectful when meeting people outside of the home. When someone new comes into the home, she will let out a large bark to warn her family of the "intruder", but she will then warm up to the person within 5 minutes and become their best friend. Motivators? Food, affection, verbal praiseAny commands? Sit, paw, lay down, wait, leave it, shakeHouse trained? YesCrate trained? UnknownHow long will it take to settle into a new environment? She will be at ease from the first moment, showing calm curiosity and friendliness. Within 2 days she will be your best friend if there are intentional times of connection through exercise and play. Any special needs or traits an adopter should know? Yetti loves going after smells when on a walk. She is currently being trained to walk on a leash. Because of her size, she can pull a person around very easily with her desire to go after a smell. But, she is showing good responsiveness to verbal commands during the walks. Yetti is a gentle giant. She shows absolutely no signs of aggression. She does desire to be a companion to her owner and is very connected to her "people". She will follow you into whatever room you are in. When left home alone, she quietly whines for about 5 minutes and then settles down. She will wait at the window until your return.
