Seems young and ready to learn. She is treat motivated and loved me because I was there with her. She walked fairly well on the leash, but didn’t want to go back to her kennel without me enticing her with treats. She wasn’t done having fun yet which I get. I have had Loki since he was 7 weeks old. He is smart, loving, and eager to please. He loves jobs. He knows his basic commands and is food motivated. He is extreme loyal and protective, particularly of me. I am his person. He was born just before the lockdown of Covid and was not properly exposed to others. He is anxious, which comes off as aggression when I am around. He is also attached to our lab mix, Thor. He would probably do best in a home with another bigger, playful dog. He tends to get lonely. He does not do well with our cat. He was raised with my nephew but they had known each other since he was a pup. I therefore cannot say how he’d do with children but I would err on the side of caution. It breaks my heart to surrender Loki. I am getting married, and he is so protective of me that he cannot be around my fiancé because he sees him and any outsider to me as a threat. He has always done well when he is boarded, warming up to staff when I am not around for him to “protect”.

Diamond is an eight year old Shepherd mix who was adopted from Pet Friends in 2017, but returned to us recently when her family was no longer able to take care of her. While she may considered a "senior dog based on her age, she looks and acts much younger. She enjoys playing fetch and going for walks but those walks don't need to be for miles and miles and the fetch sessions don't need to be hours long. After some exercise, Diamond will be happy to sit with you and get a good scratching. When she was returned, we weren't told much about her other than she is dog reactive, so would need to be in a house with no other dogs. Now that our volunteers have spent some time with Diamond, we have learned that she knows some basic commands, walks ok on a leash but will pull hard, especially at the beginning of the walk, and really enjoys being with people. Diamond is a perfect name for her, because she is a gem and is going to make someone a wonderful companion, particularly if they want a dog that has grown out of its puppy stage, yet still is full of life.
