Story
Luna came into our lives when things were still good. She was young, full of energy and we took her out everywhere. She was attacked by two dogs ant a young age and because of that we didn’t socialize her. She’s still young, full of energy and friendly to her owners. That being said she’s a very jumpy/shy dog. She requires lots of exercise, and loves to play. She’s best taught through playing. I thought she was bad with people but in the past year I’ve noticed she’s just jumpy around strangers. She hasn’t bitten anyone but she does require socializing with others. That is not something I can provide more my family do to our busy schedules and my military career. If you have a yard I’d consider her sense that would give her all the space she needs to play around.

Story
Samantha is a 5.5 year old GSD purchased from a reputable breeder in Tennessee at 12 weeks old. I'm looking for an experienced GSD owner who understands the breed and requirements, as she needs to be exercised, trained, and use of her mind on a daily basis. She's is fun, energetic, loves to play ball, loves "go hunt" to search for treats/toys, enthusiastic about training, and loves to go on walks. She weights 72lbs and has an "authentic" GSD look with her coloring. She's beyond smart and learns very quickly.

Story
We rescued Sidney from a horrific shelter in Memphis, TN. When we got him, he was skin and bones and had some barrier aggression issues (who knows what horrors he suffered there) It didn't take long for Sidney to realize he was now safe and could start letting down his guard. Sidney Poitier has filled out and is truly a stunning dog. Sidney is about 2 years old, and is at his healthy weight of 80 lbs. Sidney is a very intelligent fellow, he learns quicky and is anxious to please. He will do well with a job and/or a lot of stimulation, long walks and hikes. He will do well with an experienced dog person. Sidney loves meeting new people. He has done well with large dogs he has met, however he is would not be good with small dogs or cats. Sidney does show barrier reactivity, however, when the barrier is removed (whether it is a crate, fence or car window) he show absolutely no issues. Because Sidney likes a lot of activity, he will need a securely fenced yard (must be a physical fence, not an electric or invisible system) He is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped and on monthly treatment for flea/ticks and heartworm prevention If you are interested in Sidney Poitier, email cox_ann@bellsouth.net for an application

Story
Rex is one of those happy go lucky, loveable German Shepherds that is a rare offering in the rescue world.  A two year old, 70 pound young dog that is a victim of divorce.  Like children, he is having to adjust to a new lifestyle and he must be rehomed due to his dad moving in with parents who are already at their limit for dogs. Everyone is heartbroken. Rex loves everyone and is good with cats, other dogs and adores meeting new people. He is housebroken, crate trained and not a nervous nelly like some Shepherds can be.  He is still growing and can stand to add a few more muscular pounds as he becomes a more mature adult dog.  Broken hearted is what his owner will be when he goes  but Critter Cavalry Rescue has promised to find the perfect Shepherd savvy home for him with a fenced yard, and someone with the time and stability to give this boy all he deserves in life.  Rex is an eager and easy student to train to be a family’s “everything” dog. Rex needs a strong leader who will give him boundaries.  He is good wtih other dogs but will try and be the alpha at first.  Not good with cats because he wants to chase for play.  Please know this breed before asking to adopt.  They are dogs that cannot be ignored and left alone for 10 hours a day.  They love challenges that are both mental and physical.  Rex is a love of a dog, with no aggressive tendencies at all.  He is a true treasure for his breed.  If interested, please contact us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
Our boy Enzo is looking for that ultimate German Shepherd savvy owner and family who will promise to throw his squeaky toys and balls in the backyard so he can chase them and bring them back for more fun!  This two year old 65 pounds boy is just the best boy that is looking for his master that is smart and can offer him boundaries and routine and guidance on how to be the best dog he can be.  This boy needs a fenced yard for playing fetch when you throw all those toys. Enzo  found himself in a shelter because his owner had no time and resources for him any longer.  A sad and frequent situation that so many animals are finding leads to them being deserted.   Enzo is SOOOOO SMART!  He just wants to please you and wants to be your handsome canine BFF.  He is responsive to commands and is a dog that might be best as the King of the house.  He does well with other dogs but we think he would thrive at the ultimate level as your only focus and dog in training.  He is active, housebroken in his kennel and he is looking for a purpose in life.  Healthy and totally vetted, this boy has captured Critter Cavalry’s heart and we are determined to help him find that wonderful forever family or person.    If you are interested in this dream boy, please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com    We think that cats might be too tempting to chase.  He is in Nashville, TN but we do transport to the northeast every weekend.  He is available in Tennessee and also in the northeastern states.  ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED. Story
This beautiful girl is Ciersi. A survivor who was a shelter favorite at the hendersonville tennessee animal control.  Where many dogs would have been euthanized after being in a shelter for 2-3 months, this girl has languished for 8 months, missing the bullet of being put to sleep, simply because she is so very special.  At the age of approximately six years old, this 85 pound girl has a serenity and kindness about her that just draws you in. The minute that Critter Cavalry Rescue heard she was in this shelter for 8 months, we knew we had to do something to end this horrible situation. Praise God a foster stepped forward and she is out now, ready for a wonderful reset for her life.  This girl has started a journey in a foster home with a caring family that will help her detox from shelter life and start a new chapter.  From what we could tell on her intake pictures from August of 2024, months ago, she had a litter of puppies prior to being found as a stray.  Mama dogs can be some of the sweetest and most appreciative, nurturing creatures on the planet.   This girl has nothing but gratitude written all over her face.   She is an easygoing girl with a calm spirit that will be adaptable for many different families and  lifestyles.   She is housebroken and great with children and other dogs. We can also  cat test her if needed.   It's Ciersi's time to bask in the new beginning of Spring and the CCR promise of a great new life ahead.  If you are interested in knowing more about our sweet freedom bound  Ciersi, please write to us at ccrtennessee@gmail.com.   ADOPTION FEE REQUIRED.
